Review This book was received as an ARC!
Clover Creek is set in small town with a sweet story of second chances
The main characters Jayce and Claire who were once high school sweethearts are unexpectedly brought back to their hometown Clover Creek. Both have baggage that initially make them unsure about reuniting. I do love their journey back to reconnecting and the book does capture the readers attention. Enjoyable characters and a good read.
I love a good sexy romance novel, but a clean one can also be sexy. I think Claire was kind of a mess in trying to figure out what she wanted to do with her life. I can relate, but with a stiffling childhood, she was figuring herself out on her own terms. She was also running from a love that ran from her…until she needed to go home. It was fun watching Claire and Jayce reconnect and get to know each other again. I can also relate to what brought Claire home and it’s heart-wrenching. I fell in love with Jayce watching him fall back in love with Claire.
I have never read this author, but I will be reading her again! This is a book about second chances, dementia, and small town living. Claire and Jayce both grew up in Clover Creek, but both left and rarely if ever came back after high school. Claire gets a phone call from her mom that her Gram had an accident, so she heads to Clover Creek. Jayce is also staying at the Bed & Breakfast as he is in town visiting his Dad. The two bump into each other at Claire’s parents house, and then at her Gram’s. The chemistry between them is still there and feelings. This is a very sweet and clean read, and I was drawn into the story from page one, and look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
Sweet small town story
Claire and Jayce were and item way back but secrets broke them apart.
A chance meeting back in their small hometown makes sparks fly again. But the secrets from before threaten their reunion again.
I really enjoyed this book. A first for me from this author and I will continue to read more
This is a great, clean read. I immediately loved Claire and Jayce. I loved the way Grams dementia was handled. I went through it with my Granny and my mother is showing signs. It’s a minute by minute thing and takes a family to manage. This book had me laughing and cheering for this couple throughout. Oh and the recipe at the end is a keeper!
Clover Creek is a second chance small town romance, written in third person past tense with dual POV and HEA.
Claire and Jayce are both from the small town of Clover Creek and they both left running from something. As fate would allow both Claire and Jayce are brought back to Clover Creek for different reasons. Can Claire and Jayce overcome the things from their past to reunite? Their story is a real pager turner and will have you on the edge of your seat wanting more.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and I am giving my honest review.
Clover Creek
It is such a sweet read and second chance romance. Claire and Jayce have lots and lots of history. When both are called back home, they must figure out if love really ever went away. Loved it and can’t wait to see more from this author.
Romantic and sweet read, without much angst or drama
Sometimes before making lifetime decisions when you are 18 years old it is better to have some thinking and it would be good to talk to others. But looks like if something is meant to be it will be. The story of Claire and Jayce is story about running from your past. Past that people didn’t reconcile with and from events that we don’t understand why they happened, from pain they caused. They are finally given chance by the unexpected circumstances for everything between them to be solved and put in the right places. Will unsaid truths and meddling parents ruin their second chance for their happy ever after?
I very much enjoyed reading this book. Claire and Jayce are great characters, very mature and well developed. And their story is well paced and thought through. There was a time when reading I was waiting for the other shoe to drop but this one is very sweet and clean read without to much drama and angst. Relaxing read when we want just to immerse ourself in something nice and romantic.
The cover was what drew me into this adorable book with all the feelings of home.
Claire Cunningham left Clover Creek, Texas years ago for more reasons than just a broken heart, but she comes back to her hometown when she’s notified of her Gram’s “accident”. As it would just so happen, so does her ex-boyfriend from high school, Jayce Sterling, for unknown to him, his dad is part of the reason for Claire’s sudden arrival.
The two collide again as fate would see to it to intertwine their destinies.
From the first page, I was laughing at this wholesome and funny tale of two lovers who are hopelessly bound to their hometown and one another, despite being separated for the last thirteen years.
I enjoyed the characters, the dialogue, the author’s description of Gram (she sounds like the perfect grandmother) and the element of surprise with the secret Jayce has kept from Claire in his attempt to protect her.
It was sweet, nostalgic and made me want to own my own B&B 😀
Heather Michelle actually gives you another SWEET surprise in the back of the novel too, I won’t tell you what, you’ll just have to read it to find out 😉
If you love small town, sweet, second chance romance novels then this book is definitely for you!
I loved this book. It’s a clean read about a small town. There is just something about small town books that I love, lol. Maybe it’s because everyone knows you and you business or because of the tight knit community that most of them display. Clair and Jayce were made for every other and their story is very sweet. I didn’t much care for Claire’s mom however it was nice that she realized her mistakes and made a change for the better. I would have liked to know what happened to Jayce’s father and if he eventually sort treatment but besides that this book was great. Definitely recommended.
Claire and Jayce story is so sweet ..high school sweetheart by a secret made it that Jayce broke Claire heart ..now 13 years later they bump in each other again . will they be able they get over the past and start over or not ..you can fell the characters feeling thru out the book. it a must read hurry and get it
Claire was determined to leave Clover Creek and after Jayce left her that note on her dash, she decided she wasn’t coming back.
Fast forward and Claire is now 31 getting a call from her mum to say she has to come back! For the only person she would consider coming back for, her Gram is ill.
Jayce now owns one of the best jewellery companies out there but he has to come back to Clover Creek to visit his dad. Only this time he bumps into Claire will old sparks still fly?
A pleasant read but I just couldn’t really connect with the characters or buy into the angst. A good first attempt and I hope this author continues to write and will certainly read whatever comes next.
This book is a great start to a new series. This is the first time I have read anything from this author and it definitely won’t be the last!! Claire and Jayce are the main characters of this second chance romance and they are fantastic! This book takes place in a small town that sounds like the kind of place I would love to live in. Book is well written and keeps your interest from the first sentence until the very end.
This one is a must read!!
Wow, this book kept me interested. Touching story’s on both parts of these couple coming back to their home town. It makes you really thing about communication and how things can be taken the wrong way. Also that everyone has a back story and it can have meaning that no one else understands. 13 years is a long time to have things pass by and trying to cover up why can be very hard when the feelings you had are still in your heart. Funny /sad/touch on life lesson all rolled up in one book..
Clover creek is a second chance romance story. Claire and Jayce come from a small town where everybody knows your business. There has always been a Claire and Jayce till one day there isn’t. They both left town running and barely looked back. Claire gets a call and the one person she would drop everything for, her grandma. She finds out by accident that Jayce has been back off and on to see his dad who is sick. These 2 get thrown back together. This is such a sweet story. Nice and clean which is a plus. I enjoyed this book immensely.
Small Town Second Chance clean book. Claire & Jayce were young sweethearts that we’re parted. Both are now back in Clover Creek. Can they move on from the past to make a future? Second Chance books are my favorite and this one did not disappoint me. Can’t wait for more books to come out in this series!
I loved this book! I’m a sucker for second chances love stories; Claire and Jayce’s story is one of my new favorites! I can’t wait for more in this series!
