When someone is murdered by a sniper with a military past, it sets off a nationwide manhunt for an elusive serial killer. FBI Special Agent Jack Randall finds himself appointed to track down and stop the shooter. Not by his superiors, but by the killer himself.
As more bodies fall, the vigilante takes his political messages to the press, earning the support of the public with his choice of … choice of targets and confounding the FBI at every turn. From the desert of Nevada to the urban jungle of New York City, Jack and his team follow the trail of bodies and haunting messages left behind by the vengeful killer. With Jack racing against time, the assassin’s crimes grow bolder, and his message more sinister and closer to home.
It becomes clear to Jack that, in order to find the shooter, he will have to look inside his own past and become the man he was years ago.

Very apropos for the times in which we live. The villain becomes the hero….somewhat. Kept me interested and reading.
Wonderful characters, great plot. Loved it. Very well written
I really liked this book and plan to read others in the series. Well written and entertaining, too!
One of the best books I have read in ages! This is a must read. I will be reading as many of Randall Wood’s books as I can find. This well-paced thriller kept me moving from one chapter to the next. Memorable characters were well-developed without being overly done. Every scene in the story made sense and the plot unfolded magnificently. The interplay between the characters was wonderful and each received its own unique treatment. The criminal’s character was treated with …
Realistic-. Took you there
I really enjoyed this book. Lots of action until the very end. The characters had depth and you could really identify with them. I look forward to reading other books by this author.
Loved this book, and I admit I was surprised with how good it was. I want to continue in this characters next two books!
Author obviously knows his subject matter well as evidenced by the details. The cutaways enhance the excitement, especially toward the end, and make it hard not to finish without delay.
Kept me turning pages. A good mystery.
Well written and in this day of confusion like this story you wonder who is the real bad guy. You will like Sam and Jack I think; read on
