I loved Close!!! It was so entertaining and refreshing!! Nick & Nat were so hot, their chemistry was off the charts. Nick was so sweet, such a good guy. Not the typical rock star. Natalia was smart, kind, and entertaining, not like a typical actress. The story was definitely not the same old rock star or actress romance. It was awesome!!!
5 STARS FOR CLOSE!! This book was like breathing fresh air, you can’t get enough of these pages. I devoured this book, it was full of sexy times, fun banter and fantastic characters. Nick and Natalia were so in tune with each other, Nick a Rock Star and Natalia is an actress the perfect combination for a fun read. As always Laurelin Paige give us a 5 star read that you can’t get enough of. You will definitely want to 1-Click this book.
This new series is off to a great start. This first book is about a young rock star and a well known Hollywood actress. There’s a difference in age between these two people but there is definitely chemistry that can’t keep these 2 apart. Natalia is a famous actress who has been living her life base on the public persona that was cast on her. Her relationships are more for public appearances and it never works out personally. When she ends up dancing with Nick on the dance floor at a club, it feels like they have been doing it forever. Instant chemistry and totally hot. Natalie decides that they can only have a causal relationship (friends with benefits) and Nick decides to take her offer. Nick has had a crush on Natalia since he was a teen so to get to be around her is perfect. However, as their relationship progresses, true feelings are involved (from the beginning) and this scares Natalia.
It’s a great story about 2 people who love each other but one of them has to get over the fears that their career will be ruin because of what the public’s perception of them.
I just love how Laurelin Paige makes the pages sizzle!
Nick Ryder and Natalia Lowen’s story is steamy, sexy and totally hot. The rockstar and the Hollywood Princess, two complete opposites in everyday life with work and pleasure but the chemistry between them is undeniable and all consuming. It was meant to be no strings and no feelings, just a good time between the sheets. When the strings and feelings become a reality will The Rockstar win the heart of the People’s Princess or will fear and image put an end to everything? I guess your just going to have to read it to find out.
Another fun and flirty read that will have you all hot and bothered with every turn of the page. All the sexiness we want and enjoy in Laurelin’s books is there with a great storyline that leaves you breathless and a hot mess.
When I heard about this new series I was completely intrigued as each book written in the series is written by a different author and Laurelin Paige has started this series off with a bang.
Holiday sweetheart, Natalia, meets bad boy rocker Nick but what I loved that was slightly different was that Natalia was older then Nick, which made a nice, seriously hot change.
The connection between Natalia and Nick is off the charts as soon as they meet. The rockerstar playboy has meet his match and been knocked on his ass, he just needs to show Natalia how good they can be together as a couple without scaring her off.
This is one read you will be hooked on from page one. Its full of flirty goodness, off the charts chemistry, swoon-worthy sweetness mixed in with some angst with Natalia’s insecurities.
I am looking forward to reading Nick’s brothers stories next
Nick Ryder is the kind of man every woman dreams of. He’s a rock star who can have any woman he wants but he has been crushing on one particular sweetheart for a long time. When he finally gets he opportunity to get her alone, he will convince her to give him a chance. Natalia Lowen is a star in her own right and has done everything she can to keep a squeaky-clean image. But when the bad boy of rock n roll wants to show her how to get down and dirty, she can’t resist him.
Laurelin Paige has outdone herself with Close. It’s fresh and very modern day. I love the writing and the simplicity of this couple. I swooned the entire time.
What a sweet story for once about age not making a difference! Nick sure knows how to treat a lady and show her a man can definitely want a happy ever after with the girl of his dreams no matter what! I understand Natalie’s thoughts and concerns and it was a breath of fresh air to see the guy showing her! GREAT STORY of course by the lovely Ms Paige… but I did not have a doubt!
Man oh man will Nick Ryder make you SWOON from the rooftops. I enjoyed Nick and Nat’s story so much. I definitely can’t wait to read about the other Ryder brothers
Close by Laurelin Paige is book one in her new Ryder Brothers series. Starring rock-star Nick Ryder and actress Natalia Lowen.
The chemistry between these two characters is definitely what makes this book a hit. From the beginning when they meet on the dance floor in a club, this books is all about them and their growing relationship that starts off as a fling but becomes deeper than that.
Besides the main couple, I love Natalia’s friends, Hadley and Rowan. They’re supportive and awesome. It’ll be cool to read Hadley’s book later in the series when JD Hawkins release more in December 2018.
Overall, Close by Laurelin Paige is a fun and enjoyable story and I gladly recommend.
(I voluntarily reviewed an advance review copy of this book I received for free in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)
Wowza….I need a cold shower after reading this book!
Close is a scorching hot and sexy romance that challenges the mind to look past labels and stereotypes, encouraging the heart to take center stage.
Laurelin Paige flips the tables on the typical age-gap relationship and gives us an older woman/younger man love story. I think this book came at just the right time, where the book world is currently flooded with older man/younger woman romances that seem to blend in one after the other, in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, those books are fantastic as well and there’s nothing wrong with that type of storyline. But it’s beyond refreshing to read a romance where the woman lands the younger man, cougar labels be damned. Throw in the rockstar and Hollywood elements, creating a forbidden romance vibe, and this story truly sizzles with heat and off-the-charts chemistry.
The author clearly knows what her readers want. Close was perfectly penned, showcasing her undeniable talent at storytelling while featuring her unmistakable erotic and emotional aspects. Sparks fly, passion ignites, and infatuation takes on a whole new meaning in this undeniably provocative and seductive romance.
There’s not a Laurelin Paige romance that I haven’t adored, and while Hudson Pierce will always be my favorite book boyfriend in all of the worlds that Paige has introduced me to, by the time my introduction to everything that is Nick Ryder came to an end, he had definitely moved up my list because what romance reader wouldn’t be left swooning when Nick makes it his mission to pursue and convince Natalia that the two of them deserve a chance to be together, despite their age difference, despite public perception, and despite whatever excuses Natalia keeps telling herself and Nick as she slowly develops the same kind of feelings that Nick held from the very beginning.
I have to say…I love when the heroine doesn’t make it easy on the hero when it comes to her claiming. The fact that an uber sexy and seductive guy has to work a bit to get and hold the attention of a woman when he usually only needs to look a woman’s way shows what he’s willing to do for the right woman in his life and not just another woman in his bed. And Nick follows this path brilliantly.
A huge plus, for me, when it comes to stories is witnessing the transformation of characters throughout the story, and the way that Paige plotted out Natalia’s personal and sexual awakening truly depicted who Natalia was coming through her experiences with Nick and as she worked to feel more comfortable in all aspects of her life, accepting her desires and her needs, both in and out of the bedroom, readers are able to understand just how far Natalia has come when Close ends and just how much work she put into defining herself according to who she is and who she wants to be.
Laurelin Paige always does a fantastic job of illustrating the importance of her hero and heroine’s physical connection as an indicator of the feelings they’re not quite ready to give voice to, and that is definitely the case in Close. As America’s Sweetheart, Natalia has an image to maintain – one that can’t be sullied or sexified but damn if she doesn’t want to dirty herself up under Nick’s more than capable hands, mouth, and cock, and Nick is more than ready and willing. And, while it definitely take Natalia a bit to get out of her head and acknowledge what’s building between her and her rocker, the reasons behind her hesitancy are made clear and the fears holding her back are factors that must be addressed one way or another.
I SO NEEDED a fun and light read – one low on angst and dramatics and one high on sexiness and that’s exactly what Laurelin Paige gave me in Nick and Natalia’s story. I couldn’t get enough of the main characters’ interactions, both the intimately private ones and the ones where Nick gave chase to the woman who has always been his celebrity crush. What these two build together is something that can definitely last as long as they both are open and honest, holding nothing back, giving everything to each other because that’s what they both deserve.
Nick and Natalia’s sizzling chemistry resonates from the pages of their story and the fast paced plot makes it easy for readers to get swept up in the Hollywood and Rock Star glam, and while it’s a deceptive, chaotic, and potentially hazardous world, it’s also the reason these two met, so as long as they both hold onto who they are at their core, this Hollywood romance won’t fizzle out like so many others.
4.5 Poison Apples
I fell in love with Nick and Nat. Nick is a boy band turned rock star. He has been famous since he was a preteen. Nat is a famous actress, dubbed America’s Sweetheart. They know of each other but never officially met until one hot, dance-filled night at a club. They have a very intense, very sexy time dancing together. Then have an extremely sexy time in a dark hallway at the club. Nat is trying to get over a breakup; that’s why her two best friends dragged her to the club. After her encounter with Nick, she can’t stop thinking of him. The same goes for him. They continue to accidentally bump into each other. Nick wants more from Nat, but she is skeptical because of the age difference and ruining her image being with a bad boy rock star. But her friends talk her into having a fling. And a fling it is with Nick and Nat. Wow these two are hot and spicy. But of course nothing can ever be easy. Their story is not only hot, but sweet and endearing. I loved watching them slowly fall in love. But can Nat get over the age gap? A story you don’t want to miss reading. The secondary characters are all great, too. Adding humor and insight to the situation for both Nick and Nat. A great new series I can’t wait to continue to read!
I loved this book!!! It was so good. I’m a huge fan of Laurelin Paige and a huge fan of age gap books, so this was a win-win.
Natalia is America’s Sweetheart and Nick is your typical rock star. They shouldn’t have anything in common, but they do. They so do. Their first meeting is explosive. So hot. The chemistry between them sizzles the pages.
Nick is all sorts of swoony. Like whoa. And I love how he is with Natalia. He knows what he wants and he will do whatever he can to get it. Natalia thinks she knows, but she has no clue. With the help of her friends, she comes to realize that she was trying to make the wrong people happy. She realizes that she needs to make her own happiness a priority.
The storyline is not necessarily unique, but it does have a unique and refreshing spin on it. It’s funny and sexy and swoony and just a tad angsty. It was really, really good! And I’m really looking forward to other books in this series. I’d definitely recommend it.
Close by Laurelin Paige was the perfect start to the Ryder Brothers series. Nick Ryder is a rock god. Natalia Lowen is Hollywood’s sweetheart who needs to protect her image. And Nick respects that. Even though she is thirteen years older than Nick, their chemistry is undeniable.
Through out the story Natalia has an internal conflict that she finally does overcome. Not only does she feel the need to keep up with her image, she also has never been loved the way that Nick loves her.
Even though he’s only 23, fame came at a young age for Nick and his brothers. He has always had a thing for Natalia. Never in his lifetime did he feel that he would get his girl. That is until they actually meet. He’s sexy, passionate, and very compassionate about both his music and the woman he loves.
This story had all the feels. I laughed at times, cried at others, and just felt the emotions with these two characters. Close is a 5 Star must read that will get you fantasizing about your own Hollywood romance. I received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
I won this Arc of Close and it was the best ever win I have ever had..
What a book ..
Start with Nick Rider … A rock star who is 23 years old drop dead gorgeous and much more..
Natalia is with her closest girlfriend’s at a night club drinking and talking mostly about Natalia’s last breakup ..
As an actress and a good girl there had never been any scandal just respect for her.
It starts on the dance floor Natalia and Nick dance like there is no tomorrow they grind practically into each others bodies.
They are irresistible to each other and insatiable on the floor..
Do they meet again Oh! yes they do, even holding hands the electricity sparks between them.
At age 36 Natalia believes there is a large age difference but does Nick?
Can he change her mind?
I fell in love with this book from the first page between the humor the complete sexiness and hotness there is a desire to love and commit.
A book that you just can’t stop thinking about ..
Close is a sweet read with some seriously hot chemistry.
Nick is wonderful, sexy and a little alpha. He knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after her. Natalia is a beautiful woman with a sweet personality but she’s also a little scared of living for herself for fear of ruining her image.
Together Nick and Natalia are perfect. This story was just the right amount of angst, romance and heat, plus a beautiful happily ever after.
Oh my….this book. It is a dream come true!
Who doesn’t love a great age-gap story? Well this one is even better because Natalia is older than Nick. AND HE IS A ROCKSTAR!!! It definitely starts my fantasies to go into overdrive.
I love the slow burn of this story too. The first touches, kisses, making out – which is sometimes forgotten in romance stories.
This book has rocked my world in the best way possible. I can’t wait to read the next story in this series.
*4.5 stars*
Hollywood meets rock star and it is smokin’ hot…
What happens when the boys in the boy band grow up? Well, if it’s anything like Nick, they just keep getting better and better. He is a good guy wo who loves music and knows how to take care of a woman. In all ways…. A chance meeting with a Hollywood star has him bringing his flirtatious A game because Natalia is not falling at his feet. Yet….
I loved the pure attraction and undeniable desire between Nick and Natalia. They were younger man/older woman but it seems the experience didn’t match the years. Nick wasn’t a man-whore (anymore) and Natalia’s stroll around the block took many years and didn’t include a lot of stops. With their careers, and their reputations, a barrier, they still couldn’t help but act on an attraction that broke through all the obstacles… That didn’t mean all was smooth sailing – far from it.
Ups and downs, and plenty of heat, plus characters I couldn’t help but fall in love with myself made this a must read and great start to a new series….
*I happily volunteered to review this story
**More, please!
I adored Nick and Natalia in Close by Laurelin Paige. Nick Ryder is a 23 year old rock star and Natalia is a 36 year old actress with a good girl image. Natalia is out on a girls night after a bad break up where she meets Nick on the dance floor. Their bodies are in sync, and their instant chemistry is insanely HOT!! What starts out as a fling soon turns into so much more. But can Natalia get over the difference in their age and trying to maintain her good girl image? Nick is the perfect book boyfriend. He makes me swoon with his dominant and sweet and caring ways.
Love this by Laurelin Paige. Nick and Natalia that met at a club. Their chemistry between is hot but where do their relationship end up. I recommend this book.
