Miranda Montgomery needs all her business acumen in convincing Hugh Paterson to award her company the IT contract at the hospital. Her company’s survival depends upon it. A pity he’s such a misogynist jerk. She needs to curb her reactions if she’s going to keep him onside. Working in close proximity is unavoidable, and Miranda is surprised to learn of the creative side of his personality. Not … quite as surprised as discovering the passion beneath that professional demeanour. It was a lust equally matched by her own. There’s no denying the attraction between them, but to act on that could have consequences for them both. It’s already apparent others would sabotage her business if they could, and Miranda must use her wits to survive. That doesn’t quell the heat and passion when she and Hugh run into each other at an industry conference. Subsequent events make her understand that for the sake of her employees, she has to put the contract first. After all – she and Hugh can pick up where they left off when the job is finished. At least, that’s what she thought. She never expected Hugh to leave her alone at Christmas.

I really enjoy Emily Hussey’s writing. This is a lovely, humorous and sassy read!
Ms. Hussey is a new author to me and this novella has definitely convinced me to check out for of her work. Love the strong main characters, both Miranda and Hugh. Enjoyed the story. An employee from the hospital, Hugh, probably should not be thinking about a potential relationship with Miranda, who is trying to sell software! Ah the webs we weave! A fun break from a longer novel.
This is a new author to me, but I will certainly be looking out for her work in the future. Miranda is desperate to sell her companies specialized IT services to the hospital, where Hugh is the Chief Operating Manager. Any relationship between them should be forbidden, however will they be able to deny the attraction between them? This is a good story which is a quick read, and is a fun and entertaining read with the odd twist along the way. I recommend for all readers.
I enjoyed this book. This was a new to me author. And I can say that I will read more of her work.
This is an office romance of sorts. Two people who are higher up and two people who were meant to be together. We follow as the sparks begin to fly and we follow as they take the turns in the road to get to their happy ever after.
Miranda and Hugh are born leaders. Miranda having to have the control and Hugh knows she needs it.
This is a clean romance and one that you could read while at a Drs appt or it’s the perfect beach read.
Would recommend to any romance reader.

Clear As A Bell is a good quick read that I got through in one sitting.
Miranda Montgomery is a young woman with a vision, and has created an IT company with integrity and great values. Hell, even I want to work for her! She pushes herself and her employees, as her company bids and wins the contract to replace the current IT system in a hospital, but her personal work standards are professional and fair. She also takes no prisoners in the business world, knowing her people rely on her to do the best by them.
So, when she meets Chief Operations Manager, Hugh Paterson, she knows working with him is going to be interesting to say the least.
He can’t help but be impressed and attracted to this woman who matches his values and personality in every way. And, she’s just gorgeous to boot – the complete package. He works hard to impress but maintains a professional facade at work, especially when there are disgruntled people who want to see Miranda fail, and take her company down with her.
Luckily for her, she has great people working for her, and as dynamic secondary characters, they really round out the story. This is a good clean romance that describes great chemistry between Miranda and Hugh, technical details that involve an IT replacement, and is a quick read when you want to squeeze something in. 4 Stars.
Nice office romance with a twist. There’s great tension between Miranda and Hugh and some great drama brought in by the accompanying characters. It’s a nice change of pace from standard boss / employee office romances! Miranda is her own woman and easily goes toe-to-toe with Hugh while taking care of business. A nice, fast-paced beach read.
Quick read. Mixing business with pleasure is possible. Miranda was a smart business woman determined, and straightforward, yet willing to put her needs aside to grow her business. I loved how she caved and just went for it at times. Hugh was such a gentleman, as well as direct and honest for the most part. I kept turning pages to see if they would succeed in the end despite a few hiccups caused by others around them. Miranda’s team had a couple interesting characters also that kept it interesting.
