This is book 2 in the Diva’s Ink series, by Liberty Parker, and as much as I enjoyed book 1, I loved Clean Slate even more! It focuses on Emory, (the middle sister) and Marcus.
Emory and Marcus are already in an established relationship, at the beginning of this book, so you aren’t getting all of the angsty, trying to stay away from each other, trying not to get involved stuff you usually get in a typical romance novel. They are already together, and already have strong feelings for each other. However, Emory has a secret, and it’s causing her to push everyone, including Marcus, away. She is trying to be strong and stand on her own, but she is forgetting that family stands together, helping each other, regardless of the situation. Marcus is a firefighter, former military, and won’t let her get away with pushing him out. He reminds her what being in a relationship means, and that he is there for her. Swoon!
This book has everything that I look for in a good romance. There is suspense, drama, bad guys and good guys. And don’t forget, plenty of bad boys! This book was a refreshing spin on the same old romance story! I loved seeing how family played such a strong part in this book. I loved seeing strong women taking a lead in this book, and Emory was definitely a strong woman! Even when she was down, and unsure about where her life was going, she still had the strength to think of others in her life, and what she thought was best for them. The constant surprises, twists and turns in the book kept me engrossed from beginning to end, and there were just enough hints about what is coming next, that I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book!
Marcus has been dating Emory, She tries to push him away. He doesn’t understand, since they were getting along fine. Emory didn’t want him to find out the devastating news that she is ill. She didn’t want to be a burden to him or her family. This story is about how devoted And in love he is with her. Her sisters are there for each other no matter what. How love overcomes all obstacles in life. There is romance with danger, angst, drama . This is the second book in the series Divas Ink. I would recommend reading the first book, since the characters are interconnected in this series.
Cade and Simone Cohen are new narrators to me, they are excellent vocal performers. they really brought this story to life! Every emotion, every voice , every character was perfection! They flawlessly transitioned from one character to another. I was gifted this audio by Story Origin and offered my honest review

Clean Slate is the second book in the Diva’s Ink trilogy. Each book is a different sister. I read the first book (Blank Canvas – Ariel’s book) quite some time ago and I jumped on the chance to read Emory’s book (and I can’t wait to read Beautiful Template – Rainey’s book). Clean Slate goes from crazy to insane with a ton of twists and turns. Marcus is former military and now a firefighter. When he responds to a fire he gets more than he bargained for. The mystery unfolds from there. Liberty Parker proves what a talented author she is with this compelling story.
I received this audiobook for free from StoryOrigin. This is my honest and voluntary review.
A sweet, endearing, heartfelt, and emotional story. Marcus and Emory are already in a relationship, this is their journey of unconditional love and loyalty. This book had the perfect amount of drama, suspense, intrigue, and of course romance. I absolutely loved everything about this book.
