ClayI’ve never cared that much about settling down. In Hawk Valley, all I care about is my business and my quiet life in the mountains. When I want excitement, I travel to the city for a good time, and I leave it there. But when I find curvy, beautiful Savannah Stone playing her guitar and singing off a trail’s beaten path one day, I realize the universe might have just brought excitement to me. … brought excitement to me. She’s trying to find her muse again, and all I want to do is make her hit those high notes.
Savannah
I haven’t been able to write a song in months, which makes earning a living kind of hard. I came to beautiful Hawk Valley from the city to try to find my inspiration in nature.
I never expected it to take the form of a cocky, bearded mountain man…

But when she lands the deal of a lifetime, will she be able to save what her and Clay has just started to build?
Mazzy writes the sweetest instalove romances with just the right amount of steam and happily ever afters that will have you swooning, this is a great one to reference. Savannah, Clay and Bramble (yes I included the dog ) are all so lovable and I love the chemistry between Savannah and Clay. Their story didn’t feel rushed and doesn’t have any major drama or angst in it. I also love how I got a glimpse of Forest (his book is next!). This read is perfect for anytime since you can finish in one sitting and I look forward to reading more by Mazzy soon!

Bramble knows good people when he licks them!
Clay is the second book in the Hawk Valley Mountain Men series and it is a fun book to read. The story is about Clay Lowell and Savannah Stone. Clay is one of the handsome and sexy mountain men that lives in Hawk Valley. He owns and runs a successful dog food company that is about to be sold across the country. One day he is out walking a trail in the Hawk Valley Mountains with his big dog Bramble, actually half dog and half wolf, when he hears a guitar and singing. He is not the only one who is curious as Bramble takes off to find the source with Clay running after him. What Bramble finds is Savannah sitting on the hood of her broken down truck on the road that leads through the mountains. What he does is jump up on the hood with her, which frightens Savannah who lets out a scream that could have been hear clear back to the big city. But Bramble takes a liking to Savannah immediately as after she slides off the hood and lands on the ground he jumps down and gives her a big lick which is where Clay catches up to him. It seems Bramble knows a good woman when he sees one and Clay has an immediate reaction along the same lines……………but he keeps his tongue in his mouth at least for the time being.
Savannah is dealing with depression since the death of her father a few months ago. She writes songs that she sells to other artists but has lost her muse when she needs it the most. An up and coming young country singer wants Savannah to write/co-write all the songs on her debut album but Savannah can only get the chorus and a few chords done of one song. So she decided to take a cross country trip to see if she can get her happiness back and find inspiration along the way. When her truck breaks down on the road she decides the only thing to do is pull out her guitar and play a little before taking a long walk to the little town that she can see from up on the ridge. But then a big blur goes past her and she ends up on the ground being licked on the face. Thus her introduction to Bramble and shortly after to Clay.
Clay takes Savannah on a hike back into Hawk Valley and arranges for the local garage to tow her truck to the shop while he takes her to the local bar for a burger and beer. They get to know each other all along the way as their conversation flows easy. Savannah has to spend one or two nights in town so she checks into the local B&B run by Mrs. Morris, who is a riot of an old woman that will make you laugh out loud. The next day Clay and Bramble take Savannah on a hike that turns into so much more. These two have a chemical reaction to each other the results in a lot of eruptions before the day is over, especially when you add one black thong into the whole wet mix. Savannah may have finally found her inspiration and joy again but what will she do when her biggest chance at success comes knocking at her door.
This is a very sweet but also dirty short story that has heart, made me laugh and cheer for everyone. The story-line is fully engaging and the characters were wonderfully developed. Overall this is a winner and a definite must read!!!
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
loved this second book in the series from start to finish. Clay and Savannah’s characters are well written and developed. Clay who is busy building his business meets Savannah while she is playing her guitar trying to get over her writers block. Can they build on their chemistry to make it strong and durable for them to have a HEA.

This was a sweet intalove romance. I really loved how these two met and the slow burn of attraction they had for each other.. Savannah was looking for a muse/inspiration for a song and kind of melancholy since her dad died. Here comes Clay and his dog Bramble to the rescue. Clay is that sweet, strong and handsome hero that makes me fall in love with romances. I love the fact there was not misunderstandings with feelings and they were honest with each other. Their chemistry was intense and the HEA was wonderful. I highly recommend this short romantic book.
