They took her freedom. Now she’ll take their lives. Voluntary kidnapping. That’s new even for Kat. Trapped, tortured and without any sign of her sister’s whereabouts, she can only do one thing: release the beast within and hope she doesn’t lose her humanity. Nor her family.Relationships will be broken. New alliances will be forged. And yes, there will be more kittens. The sixth book in this … more kittens.
The sixth book in this purrfectly exciting urban fantasy series full of action, suspense and cat puns. A slow burn reverse harem where Kat won’t have to choose.

Claw by Skye MacKinnon is an amazing story that I have read. This is book number six out of seven in this amazing series that I have loved reading and can not wait to read the rest this amazing series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about urban fantasy and paranormal romance.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the 6th book in the Catnip Assassins Series and the previous books do need to be read in order to follow along with the storyline in this book. I love this author’s work and once again she did not disappoint! I don’t do spoilers so I will just say if you are looking for a great RH series with plenty of action, romance, and laughs this is the series for you, and liking cats helps!

This is the sixth installment of the “Catnip Assasins” series and you have to read the previous books before this. That being said, this installment is much mored darker than the previous books. There’s blood, gore, mayhem, pshycological torture, reader discretion is adviced. Still, I wouldn’t miss it for anything! And I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book! That cliffhanger? It blew my mind!
Skye MacKinnon outdid herself with CLAW (Catnip Assassins #6). CLAW takes place after Kat was voluntary kidnapped in book five, LICK. She is imprisoned and tortured by the people that have her sister K7/Sophie.
I have always loved Kat’s character. My respect for Kat went up in this book. She was tortured and violated. My heart went out to her and what she endured in this story. Skye MacKinnon does a great job getting you inside Kat’s head.
CLAW was skillfully written with unexpected twists. This is a book that is extremely hard to put down. I love the humor and conspiracy. The characters are diverse and appealing. Once again, the story ends in a cliff hanger. I cannot wait to read book seven. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Kay is back and her life is just as exciting as ever in this book. The story is action packed and has enough twists to keep you interested.
Well, Kat is in a pickle this time around. So as you know she was taken in book 5 and now she is dealing with it all. So what happens when you wake up in a place with no windows or anything else. Will this break her? She is an assassin for heaven’s sake nothing can break her right? Your shifter and human side stay as one right? Sophie, she is so young to have seen and done things. She is also Kat’s sister! Then the unthinkable happens and my head spins! I am left hanging until the last book comes out. I cannot wait for it.
If you haven’t read the other books in this series, stop and go do that. This book takes up where the last book, ‘Lick’, left off.
Kat wakes up in a room with no windows, a door with no visible lock, a flickering ceiling light and a pipe through which her meals are delivered. There’s also an observation camera that she creatively covers. The highlight of her day is eating although that doesn’t always happen. Then there’s the torture, from loud music to scalding hot floors to the gas that burns and creates hallucinations all with no contact with the tormentors. It’s frustrating to not have a physical enemy.
She’s determined to find a way out, and meets an interesting, if small ally. A mouse she names Whiskers. Whiskers aids her in trying to escape by helping her get an idea of the layout of the house. Unfortunately the way up and out is guarded and she ends up back where she started.
Befriending K7 isn’t easy, but her loneliness is key. As Kat gains her trust she also figures a way to get them both out and away.
Plenty of action, lots of sizzle, many twists, and a surprise no one will see coming.
I really can’t wait for the next book in this series.
OMG! Kat goes through so much torture during this book, it’s heartbreaking. And there’s no catnip.
Be prepared to be shocked by what Ms. MacKinnon’s book blurb about “more kittens” actually means. Like jaw dropping shocked! I can’t wait to see how it ends!
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
Skye MacKinnon has given us an intense and dark story in Claw, the sixth addition to the “Catnip Assassins” series.
MacKinnon says that she was influenced by the isolation she experienced during the pandemic and holy sugar I just want to reach out and hug her. On the other hand, girl has some dark thoughts which really benefit us because Claw is awesome.
Kat is put through her paces when she is held captive, tortured, starved, and experimented on. As I said before MacKinnon goes dark in this book so beware. (I am trying not to give away any spoilers and it is so hard!) Even though Kat is put through tremendous pain, she still remains who she is: a fighter. MacKinnon is not soft when it comes to the captivity as she details Kat’s thoughts during this process. We get to witness the true strength of a person who is in an ever-changing hell.
I think what I like most about Kat is that she keeps surprising herself. Plus she is a survivor. Through everything she has gone through she has grown her own humanity and ended up a superhero. She is constantly breaking her own rules of survival to include people in her life that opens her up to potential hurt. I think this is very clear when it comes to her sisters. In this story, she gets herself voluntarily kidnapped for a sister she has never met and does know if she is good or evil. Superhero material.
MacKinnon has created different versions of Helena (Orphan Black – love and miss that show…hard). All of the sisters are slightly left, okay some might be totally off the grid (laugh). This can make for comedy, battles, and heart-break. MacKinnon balances a fine line and does it expertly.
Overall, I loved this book and I have the entire series so far. Claw could actually be read as a standalone, but why would you?! (laugh) Need a hero through this pandemic? Kat is a great superhero to get addicted to.
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
A very imaginative story that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. The vivid imagery created by the author set a horrifying picture in my head and as the story progressed, I was captivated the suspenseful nature of the story.

This is the sixth book in the series and let me say you gotta read the rest of the books in the series as this one picks up where the last one left off. So many questions get answered in this book about Kat’s littlest sister, K7/Sophie but there are so many more that have come to light now that I want answered!
Kat allowed herself to be taken to protect another clone/sister. Now she’s being held alone in a cell, denied human interaction, starved and tortured. She holds on knowing her family is coming for her and she can escape if given the smallest opening. Kat also has no idea if her sister is able to be helped. There’s more information found out here, most of it bad. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.
This is book 6 of the Catnip Assassins series. I think this is a really great series and book 6 did not disappoint. The characters are well developed and the story is interesting. I would recommend reading the series.

Exciting continuation of Kat’s story that keeps you on the edge of you seat. This is a series best read in order. While this is darker, with the torture, but still has the same laughs as the previous books. This has plenty of action with twists and turns.
Claw is book six in the Catnip Assassins series and it picks up where book five left off. Kat goes in deep to protect her little sister and ends trapped in a room. Kat goes through so much in this action packed story filled with suspense, mystery, intrigue, twists and so much more. After that cliffhanger ending I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
