A LIFE FILLED WITH RICHES The riches that mean most to Teresa “Toots” Loudenberry are the loving friends and family she’s accumulated over the course of a life well lived. And now that her daughter, Abby, has married her beau Chris and settled down near Toots in Charleston, life is even more satisfying than the delicious pralines sold at Toots’s bakery, The Sweetest Thing. Abby isn’t the only …
Abby isn’t the only one enjoying a little romance. Toots’s friendship with Dr. Phil Becker has grown unexpectedly close . . . and that brings both joy and complications. As a distraction, Toots throws herself into helping Abby and Chris open an animal rescue shelter on their estate. But life takes a serious turn when two young children disappear after visiting The Sweetest Thing. Toots immediately enlists Ida, Sophie, and Mavis to help in the search. As they draw closer to the culprits, they realize the stakes are much higher than they ever could have imagined . . .

I love the idea of helping dogs and going back in time to tell the story of the slave. When their home was a plantation.i have been in some of the old plantations which helped visualize the spookiness of the story. Charlestown is much a part of another era.
Fern can write, and I loved this book. New story line, which I really enjoyed. Thanks great job.
Love Fern Michaels books!
I have read almost all of French Michaels books since the early 1990’s. My favorite series is the Sisterhood series. Now the guys are getting a turn. This series is a good read. I wish I had a fairy godmother. These would be the best. They scheme and work in the background to help. I think you would love these books. I would recommend reading all in series.
Really enjoyed the characters. Fun read.
Typical Fern Michaels…..she’s always a good read
Love Fern Michael’s books and this was no exception!
The author always tells a good story.
She is one of my favorite authers & I always look for her newest releasedy
Love the whole series. Characters are a hoot and love the jams this bunch manages to get into. Love the idea of friendships that last and stand the trials of life and time.
Excellent! Can’t wait to read the next one in the series.
I love these women. They remind me of my friends. I want to be them at their age.
Loved the whole series Fern Michael’s is a favorite of of my authors, would read anything she writes.
An easy summer read. Enjoyable story that isn’t head heavy. If you like a good story, and nothing more, this may be for you. There is an added element of suspense, but I tend to figure things out easily, so it is hard to stump me!
Fern michaels has done much better in her other books. Can’t really like the characters ìn these books and they don’t seem to be as fleshed out as in her other book series.
Fern Michaels always delivers a great reading adventure. /this is part of the God Mothers seies. Very touching. Alice
I was disappointed with this book as I have heard of Ms. Michael’s as was eager to read something by her. I enjoyed the plot. However, I found the use of vulgar language totally inappropriate. It added nothnng to the story. I sincerely hope she does better next time..
Could not get into this book!
This was the worst piece of garbage I’ve ever read. How it was ever published is beyond imagining. I’m in shock that it was both published and offered.
The kind of book you can read on the go. You can pick it up at anytime and not get lost. It’s a feel good book. I like it for busy times when I can just relax.
Sorry, I couldn’t get past the story line of rescue dog kennels over the top of historic slave quarters
