Meredith Still was the love of my life. My dream girl.Gabe Wilde was my protector. My knight in shining armor. We had our future planned out—together—down to the names of our unborn children. Everything was going according to plan…until it wasn’t.Sometimes life happens that way. When I left for college, I never thought I’d be back home for anything longer than a visit. Too many ghosts reminding … anything longer than a visit. Too many ghosts reminding me of the girl who got away.
By the time I left for college, my heart was broken, and I was sure I would never feel love like that again. I wasn’t sure I even wanted to.
After Pop was killed in a car accident, I had to come home. Now, after being back for so long, I can’t help but wonder what could have been if I hadn’t been in such a hurry to leave.
Coming home to start over again at thirty-five, well, it wasn’t exactly part of my plan. But Imagine my surprise when I run into the one and only Gabe Wilde.
Sometimes life happens that way.
Can true love survive almost two decades apart?

Once again Abby Brooks and Will Wright have written a beautiful story with lovable characters. Reuniting with his high school sweetheart, Gabe is one of those characters that readers cannot help but fall in love with. He is a man who listens and tries to make other’s lives easier. The love he has for Meredith is a love dreams are made from. The perfect man in this perfect book. This is a must read! Abby and Will take a bow…job well done!!
I enjoyed this story. I enjoyed learning more about these characters and this family and I can’t wait for the next book!!
I received this book as an ARC in return for honest review. Gabe and Meredith were childhood sweethearts who thought they’d figured out the future. When Gabe gets ready to graduate, he seems to think Meredith should just follow whatever his plans are and be happy. They breakup and go on to live separate lives. When Meredith moves back to their small town, will sparks fly? Or will the past hold them backwards? I loved this story!
The storyline was well written with a plot that was so well planned out that I was captivated from the very first page! The characters are so well fleshed out that Meredith & Gabe kept me totally enthralled until the turn of the very last page!
These authors are new to me , so I had no idea what to expect. I have to say, that was pleasantly surprised.
The title is perfect since both main characters, Gabe and Meredith claim what is theirs.
It’s a story about second chances but it’s also a story about family dynamics, love , and hope.
The story takes you on a worthwhile emotional rollercoaster ride.
Looking forward to more stories by these talented authors.
I was gifted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
It took them 20 years after parting, but this couple gets a second chance! Meredith has just returned home after finalizing her divorce with someone she knew wasn’t right. She doesn’t expect to stumble into her high school sweetheart so quickly. But Gabe needs a bit of saving at his brothers wedding and Meredith takes on the job of rescuing. When Gabe wakes up, he knows he finally has a second chance to make up for his stupidity as a teenager. He has never connected with another woman, because he’s been waiting for her. Gabe stumbles along the way to prove that he has grown up and can be the man she needs. So with a baby on the way, a ring on her finger and some crazy Wilde family antics, can they get the life they always planned?
Meredith & Gabe had plans all thru high school, to go to college together, get married, have a family, everything. Then it all changed, he decided not to include her in the same things, so they went their separate ways. She gets married to someone else, she doesn’t really know why, she doesn’t really love him, she supports him financially & everything. She divorces him & moves back home to her parents to find her way to start over.
When Gabe sees Meredith at his brother Chet’s wedding and they start talking, he realizes what a horrible mistake he made 20 years ago. He will do anything he can to make her see that they belong together again. And when he makes a mistake and misinterprets what he thinks she wants, can she forgive him and understand that he really does want to make things right and be together forever? This is such a beautiful story. I couldn’t put it down. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Loved this second chance romance story. Gabe and Meredith were high school sweethearts, until everything fell apart when Gabe went off to college. Now she’s back in town and Gabe isn’t going to let her slip through his fingers again. This story has everything – emotional, funny, steamy, angsty. I love Gabe’s character – he’s so open about what he wants right from the start – he sets his sights on Meredith and despite a few bumps along the way, he’s determined to make things work this time. Loved also Christy and Chet’s wedding, and getting to know the other Wilde brothers a bit better. Looking forward to reading the next in this series!
Good book! It was a great quick read! I read from start to finish in one sitting. Meredith has come into town after some trouble in her life and she’s trying to put things back together. She sees Gabe at a wedding her mom tells her to go to. Basically the whole town is going to. Gabe and Meredith have a his history from high school. High school sweethearts. He’s trying to turn a new leaf, feeling he’s missing something in his life. He’s watching his brother in love and content in life. Meredith and Gabe have a history of being high school sweethearts. He crushed her and her spirt back then. Along with her current problems she wants to stay clear of him. Well life has other plans fir the two of them. I read this book voluntarily for an honest review. If you love second chance romances which i do, you get into this book. It is a little fast paced. So once you get past the beginning of Gabe’s forwardness its smooth sailing. Enjoy!
