Tuesday Knowls is done. Once burned, twice shy. Twice burned? Game over. On the outside Tuesday has it all. She comes from money, she’s a beautiful runway model, her smile comes easy, and she’s quick to laugh. But looks can be deceiving. Inside, she’s lost and lonely. So when the smokin’ hot firefighter swoops in with his sweet talk and promises, she decides to be the one who uses, for once.… once.
Jackson Clark is a man who knows what he wants. And he wants Tuesday. He sees past the beautiful façade she shows the world straight to the pain she hides. When Tuesday offers him a friends with benefits arrangement—minus the friendship—he has no choice but to accept her offer. He’s willing to do anything to get close to the elusive woman and show her he’s worth the risk.
When Tuesday starts getting presents from a secret admirer, she goes into a tailspin. She’s been down this ugly road before and she knows how it can destroy her life.
Can she really trust that Jackson is the good guy in this mess? And, if he is, will she realize in time that not only will he protect her heart, but he might just save her life?

Don’t get me wrong, this was a very good book and right in line with the awesomeness of Riley Edwards books! BUT, Tuesday was definitely my least liked MC of all of her books. I just couldn’t get into liking and supporting her until about 70% of the way through the book. Jackson is so wonderful, supportive, loving, and everything a woman has on her “perfect man checklist” but Tuesday has so much anger and past pain in her life, she can’t help but push him away over and over again. On a side note, great editing and great overall story line, but if you are seeing that you can’t like Tuesday, I think it will probably be okay to skip small chunks and still follow the story overall.
OMG!!!! Such a great read. This book started off and ended great. I didn’t want to stop reading.
Riley wrote an amazing story and the characters were also well written and developed.
My favorite character was Tuesday’s grandmother. She reminded of my own grandma, she held no punches and was very funny.
Jackson and Tuesday’s banter was funny and kept me entertain and yes there is enough steamy pages in this story.
I just finished reading an ARC of Claiming Tuesday and I absolutely loved this book! Now you do not need to read the rest of The Next Generation series but I do recommend that you read Finding Mercy because Mercy is Tuesday’s best friend and that is where we are first introduced to her. Tuesday Knowls is a 31 year old model. She has her plate full between a career she no longer enjoys, a grandmother that she loves and the last thing that she is looking for is a younger guy no matter how nice or hot he is. Jackson Clark is a firefighter on a mission and that mission is to get to know the real Tuesday. He met her through his cousin and even though she keeps telling him that his 24 years are too young for her, he isn’t going to give up without a try. Jackson thinks that there’s more to Tuesday telling him NO than just a few years age difference and he’s determined to find out the truth no matter how much Tuesday tries to deflect his questions. Added to all of this, Tuesday as an unwanted admirer leaving her notes and flowers. She turns to Jackson for help and that’s the opening that he’s been looking for. Tuesday and Jackson are great characters and you won’t want to put down this book until the last page! It’s told from dual POV and it’s got some laughs, tears, angst and plenty of steam! I cannot recommend this book or series enough!
The second in Riley Edwards’ Next Generation series, this is Jackson’s story. An all-Alpha firefighter, he falls hard and fast for model Tuesday. She is wary and turns him down repeatedly, but she has her own demons in the present as well as the past, and these provide the opening Jackson’s been waiting for. Tuesday has a stalker who’s upping the ante. Tuesday has been using the age difference between her 31 years and Jackson’s 24 as an excuse to avoid him, but, with his father and family supporting him, Jackson isn’t going to disappear. Badly betrayed in the past, Tuesday needs a man like him, however much she denies it. While it’s not necessary to have read the first in the series, I can guarantee you’ll want to, and you’ll want to keep reading more and more. Riley Edwards’ writing never gets stale; this is a 5-star read.
This book is freaking fantastic!!! I loved Tuesday when I met her in Finding Mercy and am so glad her book is here. I love how Jackson saw past everything Tuesday could fling at him and never gave up or backed down. I literally could not put this book down. I laughed and I had tears. Freaking awesome.
The world of modeling is not all the glitz and glamour it appears – especially when you look in the mirror and fail to recognize yourself – your true self. This is the truth Tuesday has recently come to realize and she’s ready to take a step back from modeling & begin to live the life she’s only dreamed of. What never occurred in her wildest dreams was Jackson – a sexy, scorching hot firefighter who won’t take no for an answer. He sees glimpses of the real woman Tuesday is underneath the protective shield of sass, snark and camera ready smiles. Jackson is determined to make Tuesday his. Call it fate, call it love at first sight – Tuesday’s the only woman for him. He’s relentless in his pursuit of her. Passion ignites between them, but Tuesday has been burned before. Will she stubbornly fight their attraction that runs bone deep or accept Jackson’s love enough to let him see all of her – even the messy, imperfect parts of her life? When things from Tuesday’s past begin to haunt her again, Jackson is committed to keeping her safe. With his dad & cousins at his side, he’ll move heaven and earth to see her safe. Their love burns brightly, but will it burn brighter than the fire that threatens to engulf them?
Jackson and Tuesday’s story was GREATNESS!!! Riley magic touched the pages. Riley absolutely has this way with her words. Taking such Alpha men, strong often stubborn women and a lot of action…. And intertwining it with so much emotion you feel their pain. BUT YOU ALSO LAUGH YOUR TAIL OFF AT TIMES. Her words are gut wrenching, tear inducing, laugh producing, knuckle biting, and celebration causing. Just SO GOOD!!!
Hot, Hot, Hot with all the emotion that comes with. And quite a bit of humor too of course. Jackson is one sexy AF, strong, stable man. Tuesday is a very beautiful woman both inside and out. She doesn’t trust people (most especially men) with good reason. Jackson has to tear down a hella bunch of walls to get to her heart. Not to worry though he is as explosive as a block of C4. The betrayal runs deep and it takes a lot of strength, determination, and unwavering love to Bring these two their HEA
Jackson has wanted Tuesday since he first saw her but she won’t give him the time of day because he younger then him and she has trust issues. Tuesday has little reason to trust anyone except Mercy and her grandmother. Riley makes us feel everything with her words. We feel the hate and the sting of her mother’s words. The emotions run high in this book but it’s a must read. Can’t wait for the next book to see what happens to Delaney and Carter.
I am completely captivated with the characters in The Next Generation series, especially Jackson in Claiming Tuesday. You can tell that Riley Edwards truly puts her heart and soul into the characters she creates and the stories she writes. Between this series and her Special Forces: Operation Alpha stories, she has quickly worked her way to one of the top authors I enjoy reading as her writing style meets all my criteria for a great read. Her books are suspenseful, witty, loaded with drama, action, and romance; her characters are smart, charming, relatable, and fun; and finally, the storylines are intense, action-filled, fast-paced and loaded with danger and smokin’ hot chemistry between the characters.
Tuesday Knowls is living the life of the elite on the outside, yet internally struggling each day to just get by. She comes from a privileged background and money. She has been a runway model from a young age and is living the life a lot of girls dream of. She definitely has the looks, the quick smile, and the charismatic personality but all of that is a façade to the true Tuesday that hides underneath. She has walls built on top of walls from a past relationship that ended badly, leaving her emotionally scarred and unable to trust. She has no intention of opening herself up again to that kind of betrayal and devastation again. So when a sexy firefighter comes barging in and taking control, chipping at those walls what’s a girl to do? She decides to turn the tables, lay down some ground rules, and definitely be the one in charge. Of course she is able to keep it light and her emotions locked up tight, right? So when her life once again goes spiraling out of control, why is the one man she was determined to keep shut out the first to bust in?
“Ready or not, Tuesday, I’m playing for keeps. Buckle up, baby, it’s about to get bumpy.”
Ever since Jackson Clark met Tuesday Knowls, he has been captivated by her. He longs to get to know the woman underneath the outward persona she portrays. He knows there is more to the beauty than meets the eye and he is determined to break down her walls. He does not care about the age difference or anything else she throws his way as an excuse. He sees something he wants and he is going to do whatever it takes to make Tuesday look past his age to see a man she can trust and rely on with her safety and her heart.
Tuesday and Jackson are wonderful characters and the road to their HEA is difficult, intense and emotional. Their story is told from dual POV’s, letting us get a better feel for the characters and includes many laughs, suspense, drama, action, and sizzling chemistry that will hold you captivated from the first page to the last. Claiming Tuesday is a fabulous addition to The Next Generation series and I look forward to more.
*I received an advanced copy from the author and I am voluntarily providing my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are solely my own. Thank you for the amazing read!
Well, this was certainly another excellent addition to the Next Generation Series. It’s a page turner from page 1.
It’s hilarious their third meeting, in a bar no less. The memorable parts, “sweetness, bitch-fest, tongue lashing, phenomenal, Tuesday-style beat down, shoe fetish, stone cold sober, and finally, your legs, your ass, your attitude. Shit”. It was such an entertaining chapter.
Tuesday’s problem of trusting someone is very real and it takes quite a bit for her to reveal, and when she does, it’s mayhem. I love the characters, the dynamics and the interaction of the families. Ms. Edwards is a superb writer, you won’t be disappointed with this chapter, series or any of her other books. Ms. Edwards is a one click author for me.
I received this advanced reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review.
Wow, what a read! This book captures every emotion. Laugh, cry, and really want Jackson and Tuesday to get to their happy ending yet you want more. Definitely one to read. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review
I absolutely love The Next Generation series. Riley Edwards did it again, she can really tell a story and just pull you in. Loved Jackson and Tuesday’s story.
Once again Riley Edwards captured me from the very first page and held me in her grasp until the very last page! I cannot get enough of the Next Generation!
Jackson Clark is a man who knows what he wants; determined, focused, caring, all things a firefighter should be and more. When he sets his sights on Tuesday Knowls that’s it for him, she is the woman who sets his blood on fire, his heart racing, and whom he can see a future with. Now if Tuesday would just get on board with the plan everything would be easy sailing. Although the pushback she gives is also what attracts her to him as well, so he really wouldn’t change a thing about her.
Being loved for your superficial beauty can leave a lot of emotional baggage. When you top that with abuse of trust from people in your inner circle, you begin to live in a very small circle of people and allowing people in becomes very difficult. Tuesday hasn’t allowed anyone in her circle in a very long time, so when Jackson breaks through and doesn’t allow her to give excuses for kicking him back out, she doesn’t know how to handle the sexy fireman.
When Tuesday’s life begins to spiral out of control, she soon learns that the Clark family and his entire extended family is more than she ever could have imagined. Never having experienced a caring environment of her own, Tuesday doesn’t know how to handle the love and support they all all show each other. Jackson is about to make sure she never forgets the feeling of having people at your back and more importantly the love he can give her everyday for the rest of her life.
Jackson Clark is such a beautiful human being, I love that he looks past the outer package and a lot of the crankiness Tuesday throws at him, until she finally realizes he’s someone she can trust. I can empathize with Tuesday on so many levels she broke my heart, I understand the pain she faced with allowing people in. Too often in my life I heard the comment, “Wow, you’re really nice. I didn’t expect that.” Um, thanks for the backhanded compliment. This is not my story, but all I’ll say is I felt for Tuesday and completely adored Jackson.
I am not a fan of older woman/younger man stories, but having read a couple of the previous books in this series, I was intrigued.
It was a sweet story of two individuals that come to life . Jackson is a determined man, who wants to show Tuesday the possibility of a loving future, while Tuesday has been hurt one too many times and neither trust or love are things she is willing to give or experience.
Will Jackson be able to help her find their HEA or will Tuesday once again jeopardize that happiness because of fear and past experiences?
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Buoni Ami Press. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
OMGeeeeee, Jackson and Tuesday…what a ride. I felt every emotion that Tuesday went thru and those were some of the lowest of lows, emotional abuse, betrayal, never being able to trust but 2 people in her life and along comes Jackson, one of the most loyal, loving and patient men….these 2 had their work cut out for them. Grab this amazing book and take that ride with them…you’ll be glad you did
