Her thermostat was set to frosty, until her Christmas cowboy cranks up the heatAshley Hughes would love to cancel Christmas this year. Instead of holiday plans, she’s back in her Texas hometown planning her twin sister’s wedding — to her ex! Nothing like small town speculation to make her life cheery and bright. No one believes that she’s over the groom, until a certain cowboy secret crush steps … secret crush steps in to be her plus one. Ashley’s tried to friend zone Jennings since high school, because she’s always known kissing the casual charmer would lead to a love she’d never forget.
Jennings Hill would be the first to admit that his feelings for his ex-best friend are more likely to land him on the naughty list. When he sees Ashley again, he only wants to help but then a rumor links them romantically and that’s when their lives get complicated.
The more time they spend together, the more Jennings worries she’s not over her ex, but Ashley starts wishing Jennings was her present wrapped under the Christmas tree.

Didn’t need the sex scene.
Enjoyed an ice quick read
Wonderful read from start to finish.
Quick light ready
I skipped the steamy parts.
Claiming the Cowboy For Christmas was a delightful read! It has a bit of everything-fake relationship/friends to enemies to lovers/second chance romance, sassy characters, small town charm, and an electrifying romance!
I’m excited to delve in to the Hill family and see what happens with Jennings’ siblings
Ah, falling for twins! What an interesting concept for a story. I quite enjoyed the idea of picking the wrong twin initially. I enjoyed these characters. Others mentioned appeared to have stories I’d like to read about, too. After the first sex scene I tended to only skim the others. The story kept a good pace, just dragged a little in the middle.
Great book
I read this book around Christmas time and enjoyed how the story was woven around the festival! I loved the characters of Ashley and Jennings. Their chemistry and the banter made it such an enjoyable read.
Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas by Kadie Scott is book four of The Hills of Texas series. This series can be read as standalones.
This was such a sweet second chance friend romance. I enjoyed reading and couldn’t put it down. Ashley is back in town for her twin sister’s wedding to Ashley’s ex boyfriend. It’s been exhausting trying to convince everyone that she’s fine and just wishes them happiness. Jennings decides to take a chance and step in to help Ashley sell that she is over her ex. It’s risky for him though because of the feelings he has for her. Will Jennings chance be worth the risk?
I really enjoyed this book as I did other books in the series. The characters were fun to read about and it was such a sweet and sexy read!
5 Star

Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas by Kadie Scott is the fourth book in the Hills of Texas series.
There are so many things I liked about this story, Jennings sounded absolutely swoon worthy and Ashley was too adorable. They just fit so well with one another even when they were kids and didn’t even realize it.
I love reading books that take place in Texas and just imagine they are somewhere close to Austin which is where I’m at. I was disappointed that Ashley was and Aggie, but not everyone is lucky enough to bleed the Burnt Orange and it didn’t stop me from living her.
I have enjoyed each of the books I have had the pleasure of reading in this series and looking forward to the next one, which I’m assuming is Carter’s story.
Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas ( The Hills of Texas Book 4) by Kadie Scott. First off, I love Kadie Scott so most anything I see with her name on it I will read. This was a wonderful story that can be read as a standalone but I enjoy the continuation of characters in stories. This is the story of Ashley Hughes who is no fan of Christmas this year because she finds herself back home helping her twin sister plan her wedding to none other than Ashley’s ex. She is sick and tired of trying to convince everyone that she is over her ex she wishes she had even a pretend boyfriend to throw everyone off. Enter Jennings Hill who was Ashley’s ex best friend who still has feelings for Ashley but only wants to help her. When a rumor is started putting them together romantically it throws them all for a loop. Ashley knows how she really feels about Jennings and the more they spend time together the more her feelings grow but Jennings worries she’s still not really over her ex. Will they end up together? Read Claiming the Cowboy to find out.
Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas, A Hills of Texas Romance by Kadie Scott. What can I say, other than that, I absolutely loved this author and this book. I have read all of the previous books in this series and I have loved them all. It was great to see one more Hill man fall in love.
Jennings has loved Ashley since he was fourteen. Will he finally be able to show and prove it to her? Will she believe him after everything that they have been through??
4 ½ Stars
This book is a must read for anyone who loves a wonderful friends to lovers/contemporary holiday romance. It is a fun read that entertained me from beginning to end. If you have been following the ‘Hills of Texas’ series then you definitely won’t want to miss this story- you should definitely grab yourself a copy of this book and dive in ASAP. And if you are new to this series, or Kadie Scott’s work- then don’t worry, because this book can be read as a standalone, but be warned- there are recurring characters in this book/series, so be prepared to be intrigued enough by them to want to go back and to discover more about them all, by reading the other three books.
Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas is the fourth book in the Hills of Texas Series by Kadie Scott. It is a great (western) friends-to-lovers story; with swoony cowboys, a small town atmosphere, a little drama, plenty of chemistry, angst, some emotion, humour, second chances, forgiveness, and new beginnings- all wrapped up with a Christmas bow.
The Hills of Texas Series Books are:
-Saving the Sheriff (Book One)….. Cash & Holly’s story
-Resisting the Rancher (Book Two)….. Williams & Rusty’s story
-Taming the Troublemaker (Book Three)….. Autry & Beth’s story
-Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas (Book Four)….. Jennings & Ashley’s story
Ashley Hughes would love to just skip Christmas this year. She’s been avoiding going back ‘home’- but now she doesn’t have a choice because her twin sister is getting married. Now normally a Christmas wedding would be so romantic- but not when your twin is marring your Ex! Added to her stress is also knowing she will have to face the sexy cowboy who had once been her best friend- whilst dealing with the small-town rumour mill.
Jennings, who we’ve met in previous books, is the youngest of the Hill brothers. He’s charming and has a ‘history’ with Ashley. He’d always wanted to be more than just ‘friends’ with Ashley- and now she’s back having to deal with an awkward and painful situation. When he ends up being her ‘plus one’ to the wedding, it and may just ignite the spark that has been simmering between them.
This story was just like listening to a great country music song- with all the angsty, push-pull, broken hearts, mending fences, and finding love again. Ms. Scott proves to be a great storyteller who knows her craft and never fails to deliver a wonderful story. This would make a great Christmas movie too.
I can’t wait to continue this series. Bring on Book five!!
Thank you, Ms. Scott!

Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas is the fourth Hills’ family story in Kadie Scott’s Hills of Texas series! You can read it as a standalone but it is such a fun to have read the series in order and knowing who is who and the dynamics among all the cast, leading and supporting!
The writer is throwing together Christmas and wedding and a cowboy and homecoming and history and … We have Ashley Hughes whose twin sister Taylor is getting married to Ashley’s ex Eric and as it is a small town then NOONE believes that Ashley is more than happy with this scenario, she only misses not having been able to come home the last 2 years … then Ashley’s childhood friend Jennings Hills, a cowboy extraordinaire, enters the stage, sorry, the honky-tonk where the bachelorette party is taking place and the rest is history … well, these two have a loooong history and lot of things get unearthed and the jealousy and … well, it IS a Christmas story AND it is a romance so you can imagine how it all ends!
If you need a pick me up and like from friends to lovers and Christmas stories then Ashley and Jenning’s story is for you for sure!
Claiming the Cowboy for Christmas by Kadie Scott is the fourth book in the Hills of Texas series. This book can be read as a standalone.
As with all books I have read by this author the moment I started reading this book I found myself lost within it. The characters were fun to read about – the connection between Jennings and Ashley was obvious and it was great that they already had a friendship built up. I could easily see their interactions and found them all to be enjoyable.
The story was easy going and well written. It is the perfect lazy afternoon type book. The author does a great job a painting the picture of what is happening. This series has been entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable so far, I can’t wait to see what else is to come.
I love Christmas books! They always get me into the moos for the holiday season no matter when I read them!
Ashley would love to do anything but deal with her hometown and all their whispers about her sister marrying her ex! Ashley has absolutely no feelings for him what-so-ever but that’s something no one believes. Enter Jennings, the ex best friend and person who is now her savior. He wants to help her out when it comes to town rumors but then rumors are linking them together romantically. The feelings stir but they are both too stubborn to admit it to one another! Will their stubbornness keep them apart?
I love Kadie Scott’s books. They being you all the feels, angst, drama, and everything you look for in a good book!
