She’s living life on the edge… He’s hell-bent on taming her… After five years in an abusive marriage, London wants nothing to do with men ever again. In fact, she’d rather spend her life doing everything she missed out on while she was married. Bungee jumping. Skydiving. Submission… Pierce has already been married once. It didn’t work out. Undercover cops make horrible husbands. No wonder his … horrible husbands. No wonder his ex-wife left him. So why the hell is he pursuing another woman?
London is determined to keep Pierce at arm’s length. Friends with benefits? Hell yes. The sex is great. The dominance is amazing. But Pierce wants more than he should, and when emotions start getting tangled up in what was meant to be a no-strings situation, London has to decide if it’s worth it to risk her heart again…

A really amazing romance.
I have to start off by saying that I can’t believe this is the last of the Club Zodiac series! I have loved every story in this one.
In this book, London is trying, ever so hard, to “find herself” after surviving a truly abusive marriage and Pierce has been patiently waiting for his chance to tell her how he feels about her. But London has been so focused on proving to herself that she’s free and can do anything she wants that she’s lost sight of looking for what she really wants. Pierce is more than willing to take that path with her but his only hard request is that she has to be willing to be exclusive with him. I honestly wasn’t sure this one was going to work out but it does… eventually.
As with all the books in this series, it deals with the BDSM lifestyle and it’s many, many variations so if that’s not for you, don’t read this book.
This is the sixth book in the Club Zodiac series and it really does read better when it’s read in the order it was written.
I received a free copy of this book via the Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Not my favorite
Whether you like Claiming London or not will depend a great deal on how you feel about the heroine, London. She’s coming out of a long-term bad marriage where her husband controlled her every action, and she reacts by going to the opposite extreme. She flits from activity to activity, job to job, and that includes her activities at Club Zodiac, where she does demonstration scenes with one Dom after another with true depth of feeling to them and no commitment.
And the person this affects most is Pierce, who had a great moment when he and London truly intersected on both physical and emotional levels—and then he was called into an undercover situation for his job that took him away for six months. London, potentially ready to start something with him, goes even further into her dilletante lifestyle. When Pierce returns, he’s got a job ahead of him to convince London that he’s a man worth settling, and settling down, for.
So the first half of Claiming London features the flighty woman, refusing to take anything more seriously than in the moment. You’re either going to like her and her character evolution, or this will drive you crazy. But if you either like this or persevere, Claiming London moves to the stage where London has to admit to the shallowness of what she’s doing, and from that point on, Claiming London is fantastic.
I feel into the irritated-by-London camp initially, not just because of her flightiness, but because she didn’t realize that by taking the opposite extreme, she was still letting her ex-husband control her actions. I kept expecting one of her friends to call her on that, but it really didn’t happen. I wanted London to see her own self-worth more on her own, and then recognize that Pierce could be a part of that. While this happened to a degree, there was more that could have been done to show the independent growth in London than what Jameson gives us.
That said, I still enjoyed Claiming London overall. The second half of the book was great, and for me moved it from a 3-star to a 4-star read. I also really loved that Jameson took a risk with a lead character like London. This is overall a really good read by Jameson, and a nice conclusion to the Club Zodiac series.
Unfortunately it seems as if marriages like London’s are too common & that is what makes the idea for this story such a timely & powerful one. While that relationship is in London’s past, this book focuses on her present – 6 months on. There is no doubt that this book deals with the personal aftermath of surviving an abusive relationship. However, London’s ‘do anything’ reaction to being free left me incredibly sad & wondering whether I wanted to continue. Thankfully, London had people in her life (like I would hope those affected in real life would have) that were able to help her move to a more complete & full life, not just a reactionary version of it. Ultimately enjoyable but I almost didn’t make it.
London is Colin’s sister who finally came to him after being both physically and emotionally abused by her husband for 5 long years Colin moved to Denver to open a BDSM club with his partner Aaron. Colin was happy to be in Denver because his sister London and her husband live there. London’s husband came after her and tried to kill her, shots were fired and he missed killing her as she was hiding but the police did not miss and London’s husband was thankfully killed. Detective Pierce is a friend of Raynes who is a divorce lawyer and was helping London by being her friend and who is Colin’s girlfriend is the one that called Detective Pierce and he quickly got the police to where London was hiding in a closet. Pierce is the investigating officer and comes often to question London ….Pierce and London converse so easily it’s been a few months and Pierce wants London to go on a date and see where it goes…London is NEVER going to give a man power over her again. London feels the attraction for Pierce but she gets the shakes when he tries to get close…..everyone knows they are good together except London, but Pierce is a patient man. Pierce is a detective and he has to go undercover sometimes without notifying anyone….well he goes undercover….what will be left of the progress with London when he gets back? This is a Very BASIC beginning and what a roller coaster ride….I loved this one they just keep getting better and better…..I love Becca’s writing…….I was given this arc and I voluntarily leave this review
Becca Jameson just writes good stuff! Her characters are multidimensional with complex histories and real life problems. The storylines surround and embrace the characters. They are sensual, spicy, evenly paced while exploring feelings and emotions.
After her abusive ex husband is killed by police London feels like she’s awakened from being in a five year coma. Now she seems hellbent on sowing her wild oats, emphasis on wild, and living life to the fullest. Pierce Titus wants London and he’s not thrilled about the “friends with benefits” category she wants to shove him into. He quietly and with great determination and persistence shows London that he cares without overwhelming her.
I loved Claiming London! This book was another by Ms. Jameson that I just could not put down. It can be a stand alone however I think you really get more of London’s history if it is read in order. London has been through hell with her ex husband… her now dead ex. After going through everything she did, a relationship is the last thing that she wants. Detective Pierce Titus wants London, and as more than just a friend. His job and her past get in his way. Will his job be a major obstacle in their HEA? Will London finally decide to live?
Their journey to a HEA was hard fought far and a heck of a roller coaster ride. There is heat, danger, and everything in between.
Claiming London by Becca Jameson is book Six in the Club Zodiac Series. This is the story of London and Pierce. I have read the previous books but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. London is free of a very abusive marriage with no plans to marry again but to live her life now making up for the things she missed due to that marriage. Pierce is a undercover Cop who has also been married before which didn’t work out and he too has no plans to go down that lane again. But there is something about London that makes him want to claim her more than what he already has.
Hot steamy read!
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
London just got out of an abusive marriage, she is giving men a break.
Pierce had a bad experience w/ his marriage, that is why he is divorced.
However, when “Harry meet Sally” sparks fly.
Can these 2 give love another chance ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I am so glad London got her own story after everything she has been through she deserves a happy ending ..well that is unless she doesn’t self destruct first. Pierce is hot and knows what he wants but also knows his line of work doing under cover ops isn’t practical for a relationship so we get to see not just London but also Pierce work through what they really want and need in their life as well as work out if they can be together. When you get to the end you will be sad it is the end but also give a happy sigh on how this series finishes.
I love this series, the new Zodiac Club in Denver was about to open, and the managers have found their loves.
Then there’s London, she’s Aaron’s sister and the events that led to her now being a widow, also led her to Pierce. She’s getting her life back together finally, and he is about to stop waiting for her to be okay.
This book is filled with decisions for both London and Pierce. Things had to change, London needs to grow, and Pierce needs something a bit less dangerous than going undercover.
A page turning read, with lots of sensuous heat and a perfect new romance.
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Claiming London . I really enjoyed reading this story . The entire series is smoking hot and so is this story . London has had a terrible past and now she’s on a destructive path . Enters Pierce . Their growing non relationship is intense , steamy and smoking hot ! London fights commitment hard . I highly recommend taking the time to read if you enjoy a little BDSM in your story . This is the story to read .
I loved reading London’s story! London was abused by her husband for years and once she is free she becomes really outgoing with skydiving and other things. She also gets involved with the Zodiac Club. Pierce is a detective and was around when London was saved from her ex. Pierce was a wonderful character who seemed to understand London and her attitude. Lots of chemistry and plenty of steam with lots of caring. I loved it!!
