As with Muriel, Fleur`s twin sister, Fleur was taken to mate with the Berserkers but to also protect her. Muriel`s potential mate had to compete for her. Fleur is given the option to make her own decision. Unfortunately, who she is friendly with are deemed to be inappropriate as mates. As a result she is claimed and taken by her mates from the pack. She too learned the ways of the Berserkers. Fleur`s story has not only the layer of mysticism to it that is in her sisters` books, but as well there is a shadowy evil involved in this plot. A very intricately woven fantasy tale. Ms. Savino you have a great and vivid imagination!
Good reading. Highly recommended for mature readers.
This is the final installment of the Berserker Saga. On one hand, I’m sad to see them go. On the other hand, the ending of this gives way to The Berserker Brides series.
For those that keep track, you may remember that I’m not a big fan of reading PNR but watching movies and TV or listening? Yeah, that is a WHOLE other story. I really like that the focus on wolves strayed a little to have another animal as a shifter. Don’t get me wrong, those growly creatures do something to me but just knowing that there are other possibilities within the series is refreshing.
Fleur may just be the luckiest of the sisters. She gets THREE growly, bossy, hot men to keep her in check. Take that sisters! Arne, Erik, and Gunnr are determined to make her theirs. Things get as hot as they get dicey as trouble finds them and vice versa.
Again, Robert Ross gave my ears such pleasure. He is one of my favorite narrators. He always manages to breathe life into the words and his accent is very dreamy.
Story: 4 stars
Narration: 4 stars
Wow, these sisters have been threw so much. Who knew that the sister that appeared to be the weakest could just be the strongest.
Standalone with no cliffhangers.
The alphas are allowing her to choose her mate due to how weak she is, but who she wants is unavailable to her.
So they take her and run, but are the running from danger or too danger?
Lots of twists and turns in this one, some questions are answered but I personally would love to know what happened with the witch .
Love this series and Robert does a great job of reading.
I listened to this on Audible.
By far my favorite of the series so far. I like that the youngest sister is seen as weak and sickly when in fact she is probably the strongest of all the sisters. It was a real shock to find out she has been fighting off demonish creatures her entire life. Even more, she tries to sacrifice herself to save her mates. Best book ever!
This is Fleur’s story. She is the last sister to be claimed. She meets Erik, Gunnr, and Arne. Lucky girl!
I received a copy of the book from the author via bookfunnel, and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
When they had arrived at the Lowland Pack’s Fleur used to see the Grey Men all the time. Always watching with unblinking stillness like a snake. They were tall and rail think, hunched forward with sunken eyes. Now she has two bodyguards, Arne and Erik. It’s been a year since they were taken and the first time her sister Muriel and her husband took her to the village and there, following her in the field was a Grey Man, watching, following. She long ago stopped asking if anyone else saw the things she did, everyone but Muriel. But even now, Muriel only saw an old man, but her guards could smell something rotten. When she became frightened and her guards asked what was wrong, pain immediately attacked her head and her nose started bleeding. It was time to leave. Gunnr rarely took his human form, instead preferring to remain as his large black wolf. He followed Fleur everywhere. You see, Arne, Erik, and Gunnr all shared the brother bond, so the three were always together
What a terrific, awe inspiring book this one has turned out to be. This one held be riveted in place, heart pounding (whether from passion filled scenes or trepidation of what was to come) throughout the entire book. If you haven’t started this series, shame on you, you don’t know what you’re missing. If you have, you won’t want to miss this one. Lee Savino has outdone herself.
I love this series. I would definitely recommend it.
I really enjoyed Fleur’s story. I liked that this had quite a different feel to it, with more emphasis on the story line and the suspense. That’s not to say that there isn’t plenty of steam, but it felt more of a balance of power between Fleur and her three Beserkers, rather than the ‘do as we say or else’.
This book had a much stronger paranormal feel to it and I really enjoyed that part of the plot. The book also nicely set up future books in terms of brides AND battles to face. I can’t wait to continue the adventures.
