4 stars for Claimed by Night by Elena Lawson. This is book one in The Queen’s Consort Series. This is a paranormal Reverse Harem. The current Queen of the Fae has died, now her daughter Liana has to leave the island she was sent to. She must go receive her Grace, all while having no idea who killed her mother. Liana is a strong character from the very beginning. She is even strong when facing all the attempts on her life. I have to say the best part for me was even though she is fighting to stay alive, she still has sweet and hot moments with her men. I also loved how the men did not question her. Their loyalty his to her and her alone. This book was fast paced and there was never a dull moment. I am looking forward to book two.
Loved this book. The characters are original and fun. I have been reading a lot of Fae based books lately and I’m thrilled because they are all good and while they have similar things in the myths and traits, each one is totally unique in the storytelling. This one is no different I read it quickly loving the back story and the queen as she is learning how to become a queen and finding her own way. I will be reading the whole series.
What an interesting take on Fae and Morgana and the Mad King mythos. A fae princess on secret island is brought back to the Night Court kingdom to become Queen after her mother is murdered. She must become queen but things become complicated after blessing ceremony when things do go as planned. The queen and her guards go in search of answers as they combat the attempts on her life. Betrayal, drama, fae, magic, night court and day court kingdoms, attraction, Morgana and the Mad King make up and intriguing storyline with great characters to start this new series and I can’t wait to read more.
These books are really well written and super fun to read. Fae isn’t my go-to supernatural creature, but these books make me want fae powers so bad. The twist and turns in this book will drive you crazy and as soon as you think you have it your wrong. Liana is kick ass she may not seem like it at first, but she grows on you real quick. even the minor characters grow on you. Don’t forget this is RH so she has 4 guys, hint there may be more to come you never know. There is her captain Alaric and twin Draconians Finn and Kade, which means they are half dragons. Yes, it is as sexy as it sounds you will want book two as soon as your done. It’s a slow build on steam, but there are a few steamy bits that are well worth the wait.
Steamy RH mixed with fae, magic, and elementals.
I really liked this book. Ms. Lawson is a new author to me and I’m glad I gave her and the book a chance. I really liked Liana, the MC. She went from living on a small island to being queen in the space of moments and she took the reins with both hands.
I’m interested to know more about the guys in the following books. I hope we get to know their background story.
Looking forward to Book 2!
Great start to The Queen Consorts Series. Liana is a strong FMC who is anything but a traditional ruler. After the death of her mother, she is thrust into to life as being the ruling Fae monarch, but her destiny is not her own. It is tied to her four loyal guards. Their relationships are slow burn, but develop nicely. Together they work to survive unknown threats and challenges. Great first book in this series. Eager to read book two.
Liana was sent to a secret Island as a newborn baby by her parents,The Queen & King Consort of the Midnight Court. She’s always been told it was for her own safety and she’s had a safe, lovely but boring life with only her Nanny, Thana, and the seven sisters, that forever live on the island. She loves them dearly but her Parents decision has made her bitter & resentful towards them!! Then news arrives that her Mother, whom she’s never met, has died!! Most likely by deliberate poisoning
Now Liana is taken from her Island home to the Midnight Court Palace where she will be Crowned, drink sacred water to attain her ‘Grace’ (Power) in front of a huge gathering of Nobles and try not to be killed like her Mother!!
Liana has specific ideas how she wants her Court run. Firing the The Queens Guard and appointing her
own one is first on the list. Next is inviting an emissary from their enemy, The Day Court, to her Crowning!!
Assassination attempts, disembodied voices trying to protect her, no Grace to lots of different ones – things are heating up in more ways than one for our young Queen!!
I really needed the escapism of this wonderful book I loved how fleshed out the characters were, that the storyline never got lost in the steam of the RH but just flowed from one to other perfectly. The sexy was definitely good & I for one hope that continues to burn hotter in future books I can’t wait for book 2!! Definitely recommending this one. It’s hard to believe this a debut for this new Author
