Hiding from a crazy ex-boyfriend, Hannah Winters is determined to keep her head down and her heart locked safely away. Burned out from practicing medicine and dealing with a controlling jerk, her interest in romance is at absolute zero…until they walk in. One look at Cole and Declan and Hannah is going to have a very hard time keeping the ice around her heart from melting. Declan grew up in … melting.
Declan grew up in Bridgewater, and his job as a police officer means he’s got an instinct for trouble, and Hannah Winters stirs up all kind of feelings he can’t fight. When his friend, Cole, finds out about the sexy type-A woman with desire in her eyes but lies on her lips, he’s just as determined to tame her and uncover her deepest fears – and desires.
When her past catches up to her, it’ll be Cole and Declan who convince her to stop running, from her past and from the desire burning white hot between them. They’re going to claim her, even if they have to do it the hard way…one seductive kiss at a time.

A good novella. A contemporary take on the historical stories also by Vanessa Vale. It was nice to revisit some past families as well.
I enjoyed how Hannah did her best to stay under the radar in order to keep others safe yet stepped up without thought to herself when needed.
Definitely hooked.
Certainly a series worthy of reading.
It might be a foreign subject for some but it is not offensive or objectionable.
Book two sees a cowboy and a cop try to keep their waitress. They know somewhere along the line she’s had it hard. So a gentle hand it needed to bring her into their waiting arms.
Because in Bridgewater two sets of arms are better than one.
So can Declan and Cole woo and win their waitress? Or will she bolt?
And can she truly be free of Brad the abusive boyfriend, who swore she’d be his forever?
And when her old life catches up with her, will it prove to Cole that all women are liars? Can they all find their happy ending with each other, or will it just be too much, and they walk away?
Another fun filled short story. We met Declan in book one. “Ride me hard”, Declan is the easier going out of the two, I found Cole harder work to like, but once you realise he wants a family, but can’t trust, you want to cheer him on.
The theme of abuse is handled with the respect it’s due. There are lots of tender moments, and naughty moments. Again as it’s a short story, they need to get it all done in a matter of days!
But if it’s a fun filled sexy time your looking for, then this is the one for you.
I love all of Vanessa Vale’s books. She is easy to read and always has interesting characters.
Very short. You do not get to buy into the story or the characters. The story is written for the sex scenes which was very disappointing.
Vanessa did not disappoint once again! She killed it with the second book in the Bridgewater County Series. I always get worried in series that the sequential books are going to be very similar to the previous ones, however, Vanessa did a great job making sure that didn’t happen. While the setting and the idea of a Bridgewater relationship is still the same, Hannah brought her own quirks and story to the plot. This story balanced the idea of being hurt, damaged and worried from a previous relationship and opening up to a new relationship in such a good way. I loved that Hannah didn’t just drop her baggage the second two hot cowboys tried to get with her, but also that in the end there was a happily ever after. It never seemed forced that Hannah was hurt in the past, it came very naturally and about when things triggered her and it was nice to see Cole and Dec adapt to her worries and try to prove to her that they were different that her previous relationships. It was also fun to see so many call backs to characters from the first book because the town they are in is so intriguing and quintessential small town USA.
fun read
I absolutely loved it and i would definitely recommend it.
Loved it. Good characters. Makes you want to live in their town.
Had all of the essentials for a great read. Sex, fidelity, love, and did I say sex?
Liked the story wish it was a little longer
Unrealistic. Running from abusive relationship to two men?
Would have liked a little more length and depth to the story.
Boring
Really hot book — but then Vanessa’s books always are. She is one of my favorite authors and I have yet to read a book she has written that I didn’t love!
Oh, so hot!
Vale will take you on a ride you never want to get off of.
Claim Me Hard is the second book in the Bridgewater County series. Just like the first book this one is a steamy and exciting romance that will have you on the edge of your seat. With each addition to the series we are introduced to a unique set of characters. Hannah is a smart doctor who is keeping a guard up on her heart. After running from her crazy ex she stops in the small town of Bridgewater where she keeps her head down and takes a waitressing job to get her by. Cole and Declan can’t believe their luck when they stumbled upon their one. These boys take one look at Hannah and they will stop at nothing to make her theirs. With many obstacles thrown their way, will they each be able to overcome their struggles and claim their happy ending or will things just fall to pieces. This is a story that will have you falling in love with each of the trio and is packed with enough excitement to keep you glued to each page. I look forward to reading more about the Bridgewater County men and their lovely ladies.
