Wow! What a wild ride! This was by far my favorite book in the series. So many awesome things happened in this book and it ended perfectly. I really hope this isn’t the last we see of these characters. I love them all so much!
Well, when I finished city of everdark (the third one) with the knowledge that the next would also be the last book, i knew it was going to be a matter of both falling action and resolution wrapped in one.
with that said, there had still been twists, revelations…and maybe redemption. From Tay’s troll gf, from wila’s mother…heck, even from elora. of course, there were not enough erasers to clear them of their hurtful actions but during their very last moments, they did right decisions – decisions worth acknowledging.
the communication part, hashing it out loud with one another, was immensely better between the characters. like, jfc see just how better (aka more convenient for me as a reader) when the characters actually communicate with each other other than presuming or completely closing off?
seb turned out to be my ult fave hero in the series. i mean, i love the rest of the guys and they did improve in terms of characterizations. but holyfff i just love seb sfm!
ahhhh, HEA looked real good with Wila and her guys.
PS so when’s the much needed vacation though?
PPS also holy guacamole will there be a crossover bet chronicles of midnight and arcana? Because i will most definitely be down for that.
Though I am thoroughly sad to see The Chronicles of Arcana series come to an end, Cassidy definitely sends this series and these characters out with a bang. The City of War is an epic conclusion to well-written, kick-ass world chock full of fabulously charming characters and a bold, engaging story that will have you hooked, not just from the first page to the end of this book, but the entire series as well. This is definitely a series you need to read the books in order to understand the dynamics of the world as well as the characters, how they all relate to each other and the overall plot of the story. The Chronicles of Arcana stories are woven in the same world as the Chronicles of Midnight series but with different characters, different twists and turns and obstacles to overcome to save the world. All lingering questions are answered and loose ends tied up with satisfactory explanations. Wila has one on one time with each of her guys so no one was outshined or forgotten and all the relationships were wrapped up nicely. The story holds the perfect amount of intrigue, romance, action, and keeps you in a constant state of suspense. The friendship and familial scenes will warm your heart and a few bring tears to your eyes. The overall story holds a continual excitement level that is carried throughout the entire read and there are plenty of shocks, moments of awe and surprises to keep you entertained. This book is the perfect ending to another wonderful series.
