Cinderella with a much more modern twist.
Author has done a wonderful job creating a mystery from a fairy tale.
Will see hints of Cinderella story, we all know. I love the mystery aspect of the story.
Can you figure out who it is? I did not guess till near the end.
Great cozy mystery. Read it in one day. Definitely standalone.
Need to go read the Snow White story. I want to get caught up with this new series. Note each one is its own story.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
I really enjoy Amorette Anderson’s cozy little stories. I have read most of the Hillcrest Witch Mysteries and enjoyed each one. CINDERELLA AND THE CYANIDE may be different, but it’s just as fun and entertaining. You will find the writing and the characters wonderful and the plot flows smoothly along. Elements of the original fairy tale are neatly woven in to the book along with a murder mystery to be solved by our heroine.
Cinda Rella works for a newspaper and designs and sells dresses online and often gets sucked into working for her stepmother. This time she gives up her quiet, decompressing weekend to clean a new hotel called the Palace in preparation for the grand opening and an event to crown a Prince or Princess Ambassador. Of course, there are plots in plots making this a great murder mystery that keeps you guessing who did it.
This is an easy read, full of mystery, intrigue and the perfect touch of romance. I did receive an advance readers copy from the author and the above is my freely given and honest review.
This was a different modern take on Cinderella. The book is a quick read. There is more of a cozy mystery to this book then romance but it’s still all good and fun to read. Cinde gets roped into helping her stepmother clean a new hotel. When she helps her a body turns up and she wants to know what happened and to save some people. This is a love at first sight meets cozy mystery with the the feel of Cinderella all rolled into one. It’s a fun, quick read that you will love if you like anything to do with Cinderella and cozy mysteries.
*I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
The twist on this story I thought was fabulous! Cinda is a journalist and on the side she makes dresses for her online company and occasionally she works for her stepmother’s cleaning business which is did this weekend as she just couldn’t say NO. She gets caught up in a murder at a new hotel opening and the story takes off and I couldn’t put the book down until I was finished. Great read!
This was SUCH a cute and action-packed story! I love fairytale retellings, and this one sure packs a punch! It’s an easy read, full of intrigue and mystery and the perfect touch of romance. I highly recommend it!
Thanks to the author for an advanced copy of the book. I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This book was so good, that I read it all in one night. I absolutely love the play on the fairytale retelling. The mystery is written so well that just when you think you solved the murder, a new twist occurs! I also love that Sara White makes an appearance in the story to help with the murder mystery. Definitely recommend this book!
Amorette has out done herself on this one. This is the second book of the series and it is fantastic. The characters are full of life, the plot is on going and easy to follow, and it is family oriented. I would highly recommend this book. Cinder gets roped into working for her stepmother’s cleaning business in a new hotel and there she gets involved in a murder investigation. If you think I am going to tell you any more, you are wrong. If you want to find out what happens, get the book. It is worth your time and reading.
As the second book in this series, it is no less than equal to the first in reading enjoyment. Ms. Anderson continues to write cozy mysteries with interesting characters and storylines. I love her Hillcrest Witches series from Book 0 to Book 13 and this series promises to deliver the same amount of entertainment. I’m looking forward to the next one.
I love all of Amorettes books. This is an updated version of Cinderella. She is smart, and gets what she wants in the end. There is even a prince involved. There is drama, laughter and a happy ending.
