I’m on Amorette Anderson’s ARC team and when I read this, I found it so easy to read I read this in one sitting.
Just when you think you know who did it, you don’t.
I highly recommend you read this book.
Amorette Anderson is the best writer! I love her retelling of fairy tales. So much better than the originals. Women as the hero rule! Cinda is the perfect heroine!
A re-imagined tale of a nice girl with two lazy step-sibs, and a murder via poisoned apple cider.
This clever update of the iconic fairy story is a quick, but enjoyable and satisfying read — with a sweet HEA that goes a step beyond the original. Ms. Anderson also incorporates the heroine-as-a-sleuth, utilizing the talent she honed so we’ll with Penny Banks in the Hillcrest Witches series. Can Cinda solve the murder mystery before the ball is over?
So well done! Very enjoyable read proving this authors talent across different series.
You should try her witch series too!
Cinderella and the Cyanide
Such a cute Cozy take on the Cinderella fairytale! With romance. Exciting too, with twists and turns that make you think you know who the culprite is…but is it really who you thought?
Received this ARC and am leaving an honest review.
Amorette has a peculiar way to her writing that brings freshness to the story. Her stories are always permeated by humor and this one is no exception. One can pick up details of the original story such as the evil stepmother and her kids but all of originally used aligned with Amorette’s great ability to create wonderful cozy stories.
This is a great rendition of the old fairy tale, which is nothing unusual for this author. Cinda no longer lived with or worked for her step-mother, but apparently couldn’t say no when begged for help during the opening of a new hotel. Although she was helping with the cleaning, Cinda accidentally got involved when someone was killed in the kitchen. All was not as it seemed. The poison was actually intended for someone else. The hotel was running a competition to get an ambassador for the hotel chain, and the models in the running were involved. Cinda had to help and maybe be a winner in another way.
Cinda is helping her stepmother cleaning rooms during a gala hotel. opening in which one person will become spokesman for the new hotel. An employee is poisoned and Cinda believes Pete one of the candidates for the title was the intended victim. Meanwhile she is falling in love with him. Can she find out who is the murderer in time to save him? A rather flat and dull characters compared to her great Hillcrest Witch books. Lacks the wit and humor that has come to be a staple for Ms. Anderson. Stick to her Hillcrest stories not a bulls eye.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
Amorette has done it again, she has completely blown me away. This book is a great twist on a classic book.
It’s got all of the elements of the classic, but Amorette has brought it into the 21st century.
I loved it, especially the fact that Cinda is the investigator in the book
I’d definitely recommend this book/series
This is a fun and charming retelling of Cinderella in a mystery! I absolutely loved reading it! I really enjoyed the portrayal of the Stepmother and the step siblings. Very cleverly done!
I really enjoyed this book! It was a light and quick read! Cinda helps at her stepmothers cleaning for one weekend. That one weekend involves a new hotel, murder and finding love. Talk about an action packed weekend! I enjoyed the lazy step siblings and stepmother! I recommend this book and this author!
A Romantic Cozy Novella by Amorette Anderson.

A delightful second installment to Ms. Anderson’s Fairy Tale Retelling Mystery series. Read and See! Much enjoyed and Highly Recommended. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book
This was not really my cup of tea but it was a good read. The mystery was good and gave you options. The characters were a little one dimensional but it was a fairly quick read too. It was a cute modern day Cinderella story. Ms. Anderson does a good job working out the angles.
I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I usually stick to reading paranormal or fantasy books, but every now and then, I’ll venture out and try something new. This book had me hook immediately. I literally read this book in around 3 hours because I just couldn’t put it down. Oh, and because it was sooo good too!!! It was an easy read, especially if you’re at home and want to read a fun mystery book. It’s not too long and not too short; it was jusstt right!
I really loved reading this book! It was exactly what Amorette gives us with each of her titles and series ! Loved the characters and the story. Once again she’s done it again! 5 stars for this read, so get this book!
Cinda Rella is a journalist with an online dress making company. Her step-mother owns a cleaning company and frequently ropes Cinda in for help. Cinda agrees to spend her weekend cleaning the hotel along with her lazy step-sister and step-brother. While cleaning, Cinda overhears what sounds like a plot to kill someone. When a helper in the kitchen soon turns up dead, Cinda can’t let it go.
This is an enjoyable quick read with a new take on an old fairy tale. Relax and enjoy!
As one of Amorette’s ARC readers, I’m totally a fan of this book, as well as all her other books. Her writing style is super and she has a way of mixing fantasy with reality that makes you want to read more. Once I begin a book, it’s definitely difficult to put down as I can’t wait to see what happens.
If you haven’t read any of her books, this is a great one to begin with. It is fun, intriguing, and totally captivating. I know I look forward to reading more of her books!
A clever remake of the Cinderella story.
Adapted to present day and cleverly twisted to create a fast-paced story of the original Cinderella. The lead character steps up to the plate and relentlessly searches for the killer in this whodunit that will keep you guessing to the end! Well played Ms. Anderson! You nailed it!
What a wonderful retelling in modern times to my favorite Disney movie of all times!! I loved Cinderella and how despite the harsh treatment she got from her stepmother and stepsisters she carried on and won the prize she desired!
Cinda is asked by her stepmother to help her and her stepbrother and stepsister clean rooms on a weekend when she just wanted to relax. However, while doing that she overhears a conversation and later on a woman dies. Now, besides cleaning all the rooms by herself she is trying to solve a murder as well or heaven forbid another murder on top of it!
Anyone who loves fairy tales will be delighted by their retelling by such a gifted wonderful author!! I love her books because they are so uplifting! Some people have that creative imagination one needs to write books and some of us have that desire to read books and this author is one EVERYONE should read!!
I would gladly give this story more than five stars but that’s as high as it goes. I would hope you all will take my advice and read this story. You will want to have your friends read this book as well.
Since we’re all on self-imposed lockdown right now there is no better time than now to read this book!
Bravo Amorette for once again doing what you do best and that is delivering a book that leaves readers with a good feeling of time well spent!!
