Fat:/fat/Adjective1. (of a person or animal) having a large amount of excess flesh.Hi. My name is Maggie, and I’m a fat person. No, I’m not a self-loathing, angry woman who thinks all skinny girls are the devil spawn of satan, thank you very much. What I am is a cubicle dwelling, shy girl with a healthy love for all things chocolate and deep fried. Yeah, I know, I should put down the brownie and … put down the brownie and pick up a celery stalk, but where is the fun in that? My best friend, Polly, assures me that the club we’re going to tonight is going to be loads of fun, but I’m not sure. Until I meet him.

Adjective
1. abnormally afraid of water
Yes, Yes. Laugh it up. A 30 year old, sexually Dominant male, who owns his own club, is scared of water. If you’d been through what I had as a child, you’d be fucking terrified of it too. I’ve always looked for Mrs. Right Now, preferring to fling myself from a moving airplane into the Atlantic than to think about settling down. Until she comes walking into Newcomers night at my club.

This is Jackson’s world, not mine, but he’s slowly dragging me under, introducing me to things I don’t fully understand, but want to learn. There is something between us. We can’t fight it. We’re both sinking.

Wow! I’m speechless…
Shannon Youngblood, you slayed me at the end!
I’m still trying to recover.
Chub Rub has so many layers to it. It’s hard to put into words everything that transpires, for fear of leaving some juicy detail out. I’ll sum it up by saying, I could not put down Jackson and Maggie’s book!
(As a mother of three dachshunds, I’d like to give a shout out to Faith! That girl needs her own graphic novel, lol!)
Shannon has so many different styles of writing. Being a BBW I could relate to much of the story. It only takes that one person to help you get over your insecurities. And sometimes they show up out of the blue. Easy and quick read, erotic, and enjoyed the characters. Looking forward to reading more of Maggie’s story!
This book sounds like my life. Being the full figuerd woman, being teased about it, low self esteem and finally meeting and marrying someone who helped see myself as “No matter what anyone thinks, I am beautiful inside and out.” Not only is this book romantic, but its also scary and tragic. I can hardly wait to read Chunky Monkey. I think i am going to be hooked on Shannon Youngblood’s books till I finish them all.
Wasn’t sure what to think with the title, but was thoroughly engaged in the story from page one. Very well written. A true love story where the characters connect on an intimate level down to their soul- looking past the physical and emotional scars. Before I was even 3/4 of the way through, I ordered the next in the series I know I would have to read it! If you want a down to earth love story, this is the one for you. Well done Shannon!
Absolutely loved this book! Shannon did an amazing job! It kept my attention and wanting more!! The loved the characters! The loved the fact that Maggie didn’t have the typical body type! Also loved how Jackson lifted her self esteem! The book gave you feels!! Must read ! Now on to book 2!!
I enjoyed this book however there were a few things that needed to be corrected. There were grammatical errors in the book where the wrong word was used or words were left out of the sentence completely. I also needed a bit, ok, a lot more ALPHA from Jackson when he finds out something (can’t say because it might spoil it for some) later on in the story…That missed the mark for me. I absolutely loved seeing Maggie blossom in her confidence with Jackson. His love for her was so sweet and it felt powerful…and empowering! There was a lot of steamy scenes, which I loved, but I did want more depth from Jackson and Maggie’s relationship…outside of the bdsm/steamy scenes (but don’t get me wrong, the steam factor was hot!).
This does not have a HEA which was a double-edged sword because it’s not often you find books that don’t have a HEA so it was refreshing but also heart-breaking LOL. I also liked sensing a much stronger (confidence-wise) Maggie in the epilogue. Overall a good book but there did need to be better proof-reading a bit more character development.
