After fleeing her beloved small town five years ago, Julia Bailey is back to spend Christmas with her family. Returning is hard, but keeping the devastating secret about her late husband is even harder. Her place isn’t in Big Sky Country any longer…but the more time she spends with the irresistible Sheriff who saved her once before, and his adorable little daughter, the more Julia starts … wishing she could let go of the past and start a new life.
Single dad and county Sheriff Chase Donovan had been secretly in love with his best friend’s wife for years. But after her traumatic loss he knew Julia needed to get away from Shadow Creek, even though helping her leave was the last thing he wanted to do. Now she’s home and he doesn’t intend to lose her a second time. Chase is going to prove to Julia just how good they can be together this Christmas…and forever.

Enjoyable and easy read when you are looking for something not very heavy.
Very entertaining and it is a easy read!
This was a WONDERFUL Christmas book. It was my first time reading this author. I WILL be reading the rest of this series!
Enjoyable!
Good romantic read.
I was prepared for a bit of emotion, but this book had to be put down a few time to see through my tears. Very lovey story; just have a box of tissue handy.
What a great book about new beginnings and second chances after suffering from a devastating loss and heart break. A well written heart-tugging story that left me teary eyed a few times. Could not put the book down. Can’t wait to read other books in the series. Thank you Victoria.
The suspense!!
This book was a fun read.
Enjoyed very much. Also read 2nd in this series and am now started on the 3rd. All good reads.
Enjoyable and an easy read for Christmastime.
E enjoyed this book, sweet story
Really enjoyed this story however I had too many unanswered questions and could not get the epilogue to come through. This was very realistic and at times very sad. Glad for happy ending even if I felt left hanging. that’s why I only gave it a 4.
Not an epic novel by any means, but it was an okay story with likable if one dimensional characters.
While a typical romance formula I found the idea entertains and still heartwarming. Good Christmas read.
The only reason I rated this low is because the only way you can get an epilogue is to sign up for the newsletter, only this doesn’t happen. I find this trick mean spirited.
Good story….abrupt ending….then a “free” epilogue if you sign up for newsletter. Would have preferred she attach the epilogue and completed the story.
This was an unforgettable story. The characters were so real i was right there with them every step of their journey.
If you like Hallmark movies, you will love this book!
Loved the story line. They where such good friends this is how every good book should be when you date someone. Makes you wish you could find a friend and chemistry like that.
