‘Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses’ is a wonderful, delightful, emotional read perfect for everyone. There’s a fair share of romance, however I can’t say this is strictly a romance book. This is a heartwarming holiday romance with lots of room along the way for characters to grow and change. My kind of story.
At this time of year, Christmas stories abound. However, Jenny Hale’s book–a modern Cinderella story–stood out for me as sweet and satisfying. I especially loved the heroine. Abbey was grounded, creative, loving, and so brave to always be honest about what was on her heart. This was my first book by Jenny Hale, but it won’t be my last. She has more Christmas stories, and I’m about to go on a holiday reading binge. Of course, that will make it hard to finish writing my current Christmas story! 🙂
I read this book because I kept seeing this author’s name whenever I searched for Christmas romance books. It was a fun, sweet read!
When Abbey is hired to decorate Nick’s home, it’s like a dream come true!
I think the author did a really great job in showing how hard it can be to be a struggling single mom. Abbey obviously places her son’s happiness above her own, and she hopes she can raise him best that she can. I also understood why Nick didn’t always view things the way Abbey did. He’s used to having his money to make things better, and it’s hard for him to imagine what life is like when you can’t always buy the things that you need.
Overall a great sweet story!
I LOVED this story! I read it in 1 (one) day!
I Highly recommend it!
Single mom Abbey Fuller once had big dreams to be an interior designer, but life had other plans, ones that pushed her big dreams aside. Now she has a chance to get a small taste of her dream, a friend has helped her land a interior design job for a wealthy local businessman. She is excited about the opportunity, but nothing could prepare her for what she finds waiting for her at the Sinclair mansion!
What starts as a job decorating for the holidays quickly becomes something else, something that could not only help her dream come true, but also stir up a little Christmas magic too!
Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses is a sweet feel-good holiday tale! This heartwarming tale unites a single mother with a gorgeous businessman, both of whom weren’t really looking for love, but it found them! I really enjoyed watching this one unfold, the words brought feels, holiday spirit, and overwhelming joy. Nothing is sweeter than creating a family, finding love where you least expect it, and making dreams come true in the process. I highly recommend this one, it’s certain to warm the heart and stir up some holiday cheer!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
good no brainer read. Love to toss these in after a heavier book
Abbey Fuller is a hardworking single mother who has devoted her life to taking care of her family. Abbey’s son Max is her whole world. She wants nothing but the best for him. Working as a private nurse for Caroline Sinclair doesn’t provide much financially, so when a design job is offered to her, she can’t pass up the extra money this will bring during Christmas time.
Nick Sinclair is Caroline’s very wealthy grandson. His mansion feels more like a cold barren building than a warm, welcoming home. This holiday season, he is hosting a huge party for family and friends. He needs to have his house feel and look like a home. On the recommendation of his grandmother, he hires Abbey as his decorator.
Nick is a workaholic, who cares more about his next venture than family and relationships, that is until Abbey and her son, Max, show him what he is missing out on.
This was a sweet, entertaining story, albeit a little slow for me (the first kiss entering around the 60% mark). The story focused more on Abbey decorating Nick’s home (it was very descriptive) than on the relationship between her and Nick.
If you enjoy Chick Lit, give this one a try!
Fun Christmas time book!
Just finished Love. Love it. Great story! Characters truly come to life as you read it.
Good story with wonderful characters.
A captivating and delightful holiday romance. Jenny Hale hit the spot with this book the loving warmth of the holiday spirit, finding true love and finding out what’s most important in life. It has the right amount of holiday cheese ( I love the cheesiness of Christmas movies) without it getting too cliched. Nick Sinclair was an obvious Scrooge but showed signs early on of being redeemable. Abby Fuller’s pregnancy put her dreams of being an interior designer on hold but now her son is older and her grandfather’s Parkinson’s getting worse any extra money would be great, so when one of her in-home nursing patients recommends decorating her grandson’s house Abby would be foolish to turn it down.
Nick’s father died young and left the company to Nick. Nick feels a sense of obligation to make sure the company is successful, as a result Nick becomes an even worse workaholic than his father to the point it ruined his first marriage and his relationship with his mother. Nick has an instant attraction to Abby and he’s patient and kind to Max, her son, he finds himself constantly distracted by them and spending as much time as he can just being with them. Nick feels like he’s being pulled in two directions his want to be with Abby and his obligation to work. Nick needs to figure out what’s more important to him before he loses his chance with Abby for good. Abby didn’t intend to fall in love with Nick but when he makes time for her and Max in his busy day and takes time to text and call her it’s hard not to see the wonderful man he is but he keeps running hot and cold with her pushing her away and than holding her close and to top it all off Nick is in the process of moving away and she doesn’t think his feelings for her are strong enough to keep him in a house he hates.
Overall, it’s a great story to get you in the Christmassy mood and appreciate your family and what you have. I loved the characters and the writing it’s my first Jenny Hale book and it won’t be my last.
It was okay, I didn’t feel much chemistry between the main characters and the story progressed along far more rapidly than I found believable. It was hard to believe that Nick worked and that’s all he ever did including eating and sleeping. I get that he was suppose to be a workaholic, but it was still a little over the top. Even the decorating seemed a bit of a push to me. She had only a few weeks before Christmas to redo an entire house and yet all of it was bought, painted and installed?? This one I had suspend my belief in reality a bit too much to make me love it.
A great holiday read.
Loved it, am reading more of her books. Really enjoyed this authors writing style.
I’m in the process of reading the book but it caught my attention immediately. It’s one of those books you don’t want to lay down.
Just what I need sometimes. Good old romance with a damsel in distress, but has her own ideas and is strong on her own.
Enjoyable. Couldn’t put it down
A nice, entertaining Christmas story.

“Your happiness and security is all I want for Christmas.” The man who had everything had found something to ask for this Christmas.
My Review:
This was a sweet and thoughtful read and one of those rare books that I could thoroughly appreciate yet was chaste enough that I could recommend to my elderly mother’s book club. Due to the vast disparity in our reading interests, those books seem to be as common as mega lottery wins. I enjoyed every aspect of this book; the premise was fairly realistic and interesting; the characters were well fleshed out and sincerely endearing and worth knowing; while the writing and storylines were full of feels and well crafted with poignant and observant insights and considerable attention to detail. Ms. Hale’s writing was so easy to fall into that I expected to see her characters in front of me when I put my Kindle down.
Jenny Hale’s Christmas Wishes and Mistletoe Kisses is a perfect Hallmark movie in print. Abbey and Nick bring out the best in each other from the start. Abbey’s son Max is precocious and a perfect addition to the narrative. This romance proceeds slowly and sweetly with the season. A warm cup of hot cocoa and a fuzzy blanket are the perfect addition to this holiday read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
