It’s supposed to be the wedding of Lisa’s dreams: the picturesque ski town of Emerson Pass, Colorado, her closest family and very best friends, and the love of her life waiting for her at the altar. But when the mother of the groom sets out to rid her son, Rafael, of a family marriage curse before the big day, it seems that all of her best efforts do nothing but keep the curse alive. And when the … the mother of the bride drops a bombshell on her daughter the night before the ceremony, it seems the wedding Lisa has always wanted may never become a reality.
Join the Wolves and their lovely ladies in snowy Colorado for this sweet, suspenseful installment of USA Today bestselling author Tess Thompson’s much beloved Cliffside Bay Series. But please note that unlike the other books in the series, Christmas Wedding is not a standalone and is intended to be enjoyed after reading Missed: Rafael & Lisa.

A perfect Christmas novella in Cliffside Bay! I loved Mama Soto finding love! Seeing Raphael and Lisa have their dream wedding was the best of all! A must read! Loved it so much I was in tears and didn’t put it down! Totally amazing writing in these characters are so very relatable and real. Tess Thompson is one of the most amazing authors!
What a perfect way to celebrate a Christmas in July book by reading Tess Thompson’s Cliffside Bay Christmas Wedding! I love snow globes and for me this story was like picking one up and looking in at the beautiful setting of Emerson Pass, Colorado with characters anticipating the dream wedding. It’s peaceful and beautiful with so much promise. Then the irresistible temptation to shake it and watch the snow swirl and fall happens. I picked up this book and knew I was going to step into this snow globe and attend a celebration with my wonderful friends from Cliffside Bay.
Just like shaking the snow globe and things start to swirl and look like magic, so does this story. This is a fairy tale wedding that just might not come to be with some of the unexpected surprises and bombshells that drop. But just like a snow globe, the peacefulness settles and prevails. This cast of characters are full of love and compassion. There is nothing that will prevent the lovely angel, Lisa and her handsome groom, Raphael, from pledging their love to one another.
There are so many ways this story touched my heart. It has so much love swirling throughout the book. It pulled at my emotions and I loved being a part of Lisa and Raphael’s love story. From the arrival of the guests to Emerson Pass, to the preparations and the Rehearsal Dinner and the heart touching speeches honoring Lisa and Raphael, to the wedding ceremony itself, it was a wedding to remember.
I was honored to “attend” this perfect wedding written by one of my favorite authors. Ms. Thompson always takes me “home” to be with family and characters I love spending time with.
This snow globe of a book is a wonderful read.
I want to thank Ms. Thompson for the ARC copy and the joy I had in attending this occasion.
Here’s to Lisa and Raphael! AND to the future love stories I can hardly wait to read! YAY!
Everyone was there for wedding they had all been waiting for. Everything was perfect. But no wedding goes off without a hitch.
The Bride almost doesnt make it to her own wedding and the Groom is not happy. People fall in and out of love. Some find love in the strangest place.
Tess put all of it in one place. I couldn’t put this down. Very well written, and an amazing short read
I loved this book and the town and characters. The characters Ms. Thompson writes about are not perfect but they live, learn and fall in love. This story had flawed characters with sad stories and they find their way to better lives. That is what I like about this series is that they persevere and find their way. I couldn’t put this down once I began reading it.
I would like to thank Ms. Thompson for the opportunity to read this with no expectations that I would write a review.
Yet another 5 star review for a Tess Thompson book! I seriously love her writing and her characters so much. There is always a bit of drama or suspense, beautiful scenery and descriptions, just great stories. She will forever be one of my favorite authors!
This was my Christmas in July, love conquers all book! Tess Thompson continues to wow with every Cliffside Bay story. This may not have been in Cliffside Bay but it was as magical and lovely as any story set in Cliffside Bay!
Mama Soto was my surprise which I loved as I am her age. And yes I had tears in my eyes for a soldier and his angel. Thank you Tess for another book that proves “love is everything.”
So much romance in Cliffside Bay ! Lisa and Rafael’s wedding is here ! What could go wrong ? Lisa’s mother may have some say in that ! Plus will Mama Soto find love ? She has given her whole life to her son, is it her turn now ? This is just another lovely book by Tess Thompson. She never disappoints !
This was a quick read that held my heart captive. The love that flows through this whole series is so sweet and pure. This novella was filled with surprises and more love that you would think possible.
Lisa and Rafael finally have the wedding of Lisa’s dreams. I say Lisa’s because we all know the wedding is truly all about the bride. It’s her big day even though Rafael was just as happy and excited. I’m sure he would have been fine going to Vega and eloping.. But his love for Lisa was so strong that he would and did do everything to make it a special day. I can imagine the beauty in the scenery on the mountains in the dead of winter. All the beautiful snow. It has to be the most amazing place for a wedding.
All of the characters in this story are wonderful except of course Lisa’s mother. There is always that one!! Maybe she will have a turn around in a later book. Who knows.
I absolutely loved Mama Soto. I hope Dominic has been working out. This woman has not even had a kiss in like 34 years… It’s time for her to have love and lots of it. (Insert smile here) Mama Soto is one of the good ones. A great mom. Great friend. And the best mother in law a girl could ever ask for. I hope she finds true love and I have a feeling she will.
This book gives you all the great feels, love, laughter and many tears. Tears of happiness, joy and yes even sadness. All the things you feel in life at times. It takes you on a journey to a beautiful place for a wonderful event. Thus my favorite quote from this book: Indeed, love was a fine, fine thing.
And yes love is a fine, fine thing.
I received an ARC of this book for my complete and honest review. I loved it and highly recommend it along with the whole Cliffside Bay series.
A huge 5 plus stars.
Lisa and Rafael’s wedding story will definitely get you in the feels. Not only are they adorably and deeply in love but Mama Soto’s story will grab you too. She’s so funny with her marriage curse cures but when the story starts from her POV… I literally put hand to chest from the happy anticipation. This is not a stand alone. You definitely need to read Missed: Lisa and Rafael 1st (at least but, I would start from the beginning with Traded: Brody and Kara). Highly recommend the whole series!
While this story is focused on the wedding of Lisa and Rafael love abounds in this tiny Colorado mountain town of Emerson Pass. Is there magic at the Lake House? Who’ll be next to fall in love? Stay tuned for the next Cliffside Bay book. If you haven’t read any of the previous Cliffside Bay books I highly recommend beginning with Traded: Brody and Kara. Next best would be to start with Missed: Rafael and Lisa.
It’s Christmas, and there’s a wedding to plan! Rafael and Lisa are planning the perfect wedding in Emerson Pass, Colorado. Perfect, yes, but of course there are hiccups! Mama Soto is ridding the family of the marriage curse! Lisa’s mama is interfering again! It’s snowing! Will the perfect wedding ever happen? Pepper is certain it will, and she is quite the planner! I highly recommend this wonderful novella! What could be better than reading about a Christmas wedding in July!
Cliffside Bay Christmas Wedding is a delightful novella!
The Cliffside crew is headed to Emerson Pass Colorado for Rafael and Lisa’s wedding. Pepper and Stone have worked out all the details to make the event everything Lisa and Rafael could want.
This may be a novella, but it is chock full of everything you expect from a Tess Thompson book including fierce, loyal friendships and complex family dynamics,
I especially loved the scenes with Mama Soto, I literally laughed out loud a few times. She’s a feisty strong woman who has worked hard to raise her son and deserves her own chance at new love.
If you love Cliffside Bay, you can’t miss this story!
Received an ARC copy of this from the author. The characters from Cliffside Bay are involved in watching Lisa and Rafael tie the knot. Friends Stone and pepper have worked so hard to plan the perfect Colorado Snow wedding for Lisa and Rafael. As their friends and family head to The Lodge and the Lake House The couple is anxious to tie the knot. Meanwhile we see a new side of Mama Soto, and Lisa feels she never meets her mother’s expectations.
Oh my goodness. This book.. my heart! I loved this book… it was amazing. My heart is so full. The love that is poured into this book and into each character. Thank you Tess for writing such an awesome book and making my heart so full. It made me cry but in a good way!
Author Tess Thompson continues to draw me in further with the wonderful characters of Cliffside Bay! I have never found a place as heartwarming and magical as the awesome setting of her Cliffside Bay series. In this beautifully written novella, love is stirring full force for our favorite couples,as well as, Mama Soto. The friends and family of Rafael and Lisa gather in the beautiful ski town, Emerson Pass, Colorado to witness their marriage. As usual when Lisa’s mother comes around, there will always be some sort of drama and this occasion is no exception. Love is in the air and it seems no one is immune! I cannot wait to see what is in store for the couple’s that have already found their true loves and the ones that have discovered that you are never too old to find the love of your life!
Such a wonderful read with the Cliffside Bay gang. This wedding was so sweet in every way. Pastor Jordan does not disappoint with his witting but oh so true wedding advice. Mama Soto is the surprise here, but no spoilers! I laughed and cried within minutes of each other as these beautiful friends continue to uplift each other. Thanks Tess Thompson for another heartwarming story!!
First, you need to read Healed: Stone and Pepper before reading this book. It sets the stage for everything that happens. Second, the story of Lisa and Rafael’s wedding is mesmerizing. Tess Thompson cleverly intertwines the stories of Lisa’s parents with that of Rafael’s mother and the effect each story has on the wedding. The bombshell delivered by her parents took me by surprise. I literally did not see that coming. The twist with his mother was told in a way that any child of a single parent can identify with, as I did. This is a quick read as novellas usually are. However, with all of the twists and turns this story takes, the end result is yet another winner for the author no matter what the length of the story.
Although I was graciously given an ARC by the author for my review, the opinions expressed in this review are all mine.
I loved this book. Its a connection to the series and so fun to catch up on characters.Mama Soto is finally getting a new start on her life.Looking forward to future books.Lisa gets the wedding of her dreams even if her mother is less than agreeable.Tess once again delivered an amazing book
To say Tess couldn’t get any better, is literally the understatement of a lifetime! This novella will put you in all the feelings as all weddings do but this is so much more than just about a wedding. We are able to get more background on some of our favorite people in cliffside bay and it’s amazing! Tess always outdoes herself with every book and i don’t think she will ever stop being amazing at being an author!
Tess Thompson has done it again. She has written an outstanding Novella that is sure to leave you breathless.
In this novella Ms. Thompson brings you to Emerson Pass to prepare for and celebrate the marriage of Lisa Perry and Rafael Soto.
I loved every part of this story as it centers around friendship, family, second chances, moving forward and happily ever after. I highly recommend this one as it will having you laughing and crying.
