Need something fun, sexy, and absolutely heartwarming to get you into the holiday spirit? Look no further than Christmas Sugar!
Seriously, I had a silly grin on my face from start to finish! I adored Dylan and Alex and their burgeoning relationship. Loved how Dylan and his snooty ways were doused by some serious doses of reality from Alex and her kids. Loved how Dylan opened his eyes finally to the world around him.
I love nothing more than the simplicity of a beautifully told romance. One that makes my heart pound in anticipation for the couple to finally succumb to their feelings—to give in to the tugging of their own hearts and the heat between them. I love when their friends and families also become involved if only to give them a bit of a push in the right direction . . . err . . . though maybe more like a shove off the cliff from Arlene. ~ 5 “you always feel better once you’ve had a little bit of Christmas sugar” stars
Beautiful Christmas story. Loved it so much.
Dylan Maxwell is a very wealthy business man who is very busy and has no time for sweetness and light in his life.
Until, on a business trip, he meets a teenager, a lisping little girl and a sassy hardworking sexy woman and he will find out that he really can’t live without the sweetness and live he’d been avoiding all his life.
Love this authors book so much and she always writes the best book boyfriends.
Dylan was a snob at the beginning but redeemed himself rather quickly. Loved his relationship with Seth and so freaking love him with Noelle.
He was perfect for Alex.
And that epilogue was so beautiful.
5 SUGAR STARS!
4 Stars!
Dylan Maxwell is a wealthy businessman who lives in Toronto, and owns a multibillian-dollar land development conglomerate. He’s a busy man who immerses himself in his work and is emotionally unavailable. He takes an unexpected business trip close to Christmas to see some land in Nova Scotia he hopes to buy and develop. He arrives at The Sleepy Moose Inn and is greeted by an unlikely welcome committee consisting of a beautiful woman and two kids.
Alex Walsh is dazzled by the gorgeous new guest Dylan. Then he opens his mouth and he’s demanding, arrogant, and grouchy. Later she begins to see glimpses of the charming man underneath. One kiss and they are both wanting more, but she doesn’t do casual, and he doesn’t do relationships. He’s a big city guy, and she’s a small town girl. They lived completely different lifestyles, and it would never work. Then they are snowed in and Alex stirs feelings in Dylan he’s never experienced.
Marriage and children have never been on Dylan’s radar. He’s never cared this much for someone, but he doesn’t feel he’s the family man Alex needs. Will he let his fears stop him from going after what he wants, or will he fight for the love he feels in his heart?
Christmas Sugar was a wonderful, heartwarming holiday short story full of romance and love. It’s about family, and the magic of Christmas. A feel good sweet read with some humor, a bit of angst, some sexy, and a fantastic HEA!
I love a grumpy hero and Dylan was pretty grumpy…until he met Noelle, Seth, and Alex.
This was a perfect Christmas story! Lots of heat with sweet family time. Loved it!!
This is Dylan and Alex’s story. Dylan’s life revolves around work This was a sweet Christmas read that I really enjoyed! Dylan shows up at the an Inn for one reason only, business. He is very grumpy and a bit of a snob. His life is turned upside down when he meets Alex and her adorable kids. They bring out another side of him and make him feel things that he never had before. What will happen when it’s time to go home and to tell them goodbye?
I love love love holiday books and this one is definitely one of my favorites!!
Dylan is an uptight, snobby, businessman who shows up to his latest business trip with diva-like demands and a bad attitude. I knew from the very first page that it was going to take something awesome to loosen up and he found those things at The Sleepy Moose Inn.
This book had me swooning all over the place. I awww’d out loud more times than I can count and I never wanted the book to end. And that epilogue!! OMG!! This is definitely a book I’m going to visit over and over again during the holiday season!!
*This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*
The best feeling in the world is knowing that you are needed. Not for what you have, but for who you are. That’s a lesson that Dylan never learned until he found a family to teach him how. Christmas Sugar is a story of love, a journey of hope and the blessing of finding a place to belong.
Such a great spin on holiday romance! If you’re looking for a great read over the holiday season I highly recommend this novel. It’s well written, tugs at your heart strings and has a different plot than most novels. Which, for me set it a part from the typical romance novel. Preorder your copy today! I’d love to see a second book!!!
I love Christmas miracle and Christmas Sugar is one of those!
I loved how the story was told and how Dylan sees his present and past life and how he senses something different without knowing. He knows something changed or must change but he will try to deny it and stop it.
“I watched her walk away, that odd sensation in my chest swelling-again. I seriously needed to see the doctor. “
Alex lives for her kids and she lives day by day, her work is only enough for her family but she is not complaining, she loves what she does and loves doing it for his family. So, when a rich man comes to her “happy place” trying to take it away from her, she doesn’t have other option but to look for a new start. But along the way, she will find one that she wasn’t expecting.
But Christmas miracles are stronger than that. In the form of a single mom with a little kid and a teenager everything will change for both Dylan and Alex
I loved and enjoyed the story from the beginning, it was sweet and with a lots of feelings. It’s time to start getting the Christmas vibe and there is not better way to start it with a sweet, lovely and miraculous Christmas Story like Christmas Sugar. I am totally feeling the vibe now.

Being a diabetic, Melanie Moreland delivered the exact amount of Christmas Sugar I needed. I absolutely loved these introductory words of Melanie Moreland and now that my appetite has been wet I need more. Dylan is a business man, all business! Alex, a single mom, caretaker, and the manager of the inn that Dylan the business man is looking to acquire. What Dylan doesn’t know is that what his life is really lacking is someone to share it with. Christmas Sugar is incredibly heart warming and just what you need to get you in the mood for the Holiday Season. A must read for all those who are in love with the holidays and for all those “Scrooges” out there who need a little Holiday Spirit.

A delightful holiday read!! Dylan is a snooty, isolated businessman. He flys to Nova Scotia to look at and potentially buy an older resort. The weather & his assistant/honorary mother figure, Mrs. Carson/Arlene, have other plans for him. Things are not as he expected but he finds himself captivated by Alex and her children, Noelle & Seth. A sweet, charming insta love story filled with love, humor, passion, and the spirit of Christmas. I found myself filled with warmth as I read the final words. I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Every time Melanie Moreland writes a book I love it more than the last one.
This book was so good. I’m not going to give anything away but our main characters Dylan and Alex were so fun to read about.
You just never know who you are going to meet and if or how they are going to change your life.
I didn’t want to put it down nor did I want it to end. I loved every word.
If you like holiday stories this is a great one to read!
I absolutely fell in love with Alex and Dylan’s story. This was an adorable, lovable, winter romance that will steal your heart and refuse to give back. It’s everyone in the story that makes this so enjoyable. You will have an adorable little girl that will tug at your heart strings and a young teenage boy who needs all the love you can give. This story is about a Scrooge who could care less about Christmas and a little Christmas “elf” that come together and find a happiness that everyone in the world needs. It’s a great novella that has everything you need to keep you warm and toasty on a cold winter night. So bundle up with a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy falling in love with Alex and Dylan!!
I really enjoyed this little festive romance.
Dylan the stuffy businessman, lives for work, bossy and uncompromising. Alex, the innkeeper with a world of responsibilities and a heart of gold. They spark and they clash, it makes for a sweet and funny read.
The added bonus of the secondary characters in this book is their lightness and comedy, they bring out the softer side in Dylan, teaching him to enjoy the simpler things in life. You cant help but fall in love with Alex’s children in this story, they are utterly charming!
If you are looking for a lovely, heart-warming story with very little angst this fits the bill.
I love Christmas based stories and Melanie Moreland’s Christmas Sugar just topped my favorite list!
Dylan a very in control businessman must go visit the lodge he wants to buy and his busybody assistant Arlene thinks the trip is just what he needs. Throw in a cute little girl, a teenage age boy, a woman running the whole place and everyone leaving little time for herself and a little bit of sugar and you have Christmas magic!
Just in time for the holidays, Christmas Sugar is a sweet romance with some of that Christmas magic.
Dylan Maxwell is a surly but charming businessman unaware of his own worth. Alex Walsh is a single mom taking care of everyone but herself. With an instant connection and the healing power of love, their story had me smiling from beginning to end.
It’s got everything you need to sit down with a sugar-sweetened cup of coffee and a warm blanket and just get lost for a few of hours.
It was such a cute novella. I haven’t read many Christmas books but this one was definitely something I enjoyed. It was like taking a hallmark Christmas movie and putting it in writing. I loved how cute, sweet and endearing the characters were. Great read. I definitely recommend it!
This is the second “Christmas” book I have read. I loved everything about, the characters, place, time, and love. This is a great quick read for Christmastime, made me feel the love for each other, because it’s not about the presents. Dylan realizes that too but it doesn’t stop him but he realizes the best gift is nothing anyone can buy.
