Christmas Spirits by Harper A. Brooks is such a wonderful story that i have had the privilege to read and review. I loved reading this story very much cause I love the characters and story plot. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy and paranormal romances.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really liked this story. This one is a little shorter read but don’t let that stop you from reading. Story is just as great as the rest of Harper Brooks other books. This story centers on Kay the medium. Storyline is fantastic. Characters are wonderful. Seriously you will not want to put it down once you start reading. I really enjoyed this one.
Really liked this book. Getting to know more about Kay and her distinctive gifts. She learns to have confidence in herself as she grows through being attacked by evil spirit. Your heart strings are pulled tight with this book. A year jerker for me. A must read.
Our heroine is a medium, which means the spirits are real to her. This can be particularly disturbing when all you want is a little holiday cheer.
This is a side story in the author’s reaper series. It is written as a standalone and does just fine that way.
This is an urban fantasy story. The story is very well written and easy to read, with a well detailed world that is fascinating to explore and gets more detailed with each book. The characters are well developed and like that we get to see the world from another perspective in this story. The plot has several of twists and turns which keep you guessing. Overall, a highly enjoyable story and I continue to enjoy everything about this series.
Highly recommended.

I loved how this book was of Kay, Laurence and their baby Zach who we have meet in the series and are friends of Jade. Kay has a gift which we have had glimpses of and we learn more about it as well as her as she is a very lovable characters and one of Jades closest friends. Some idiots decide to dabble in the paranormal which leads to Kay needing to try and keep her family safe, rid the evil that is now present in the living world and if that wasn’t enough its Christmas time! You wouldn’t think it is a shorter book due to the great story that has plenty going on, yet doesn’t feel rushed nor missing information.

This is a fab short read from the reaper reborn universe! A fab story that shows us Kay and her family, has an intriguing plot and some excellent characters! Well worth a read!
This was a really good read. I loved the storyline and the characters. I found both well written and interesting. I would definitely recommend reading. (I received this book as an arc and am leaving a voluntary honest review)
Christmas Spirits by Harper A Brooks is a novella set within the Reaper Reborn Universe, but set around secondary characters of the Series, this time, best friend Kay, her boyfriend Laurence, and their baby Zach.
Kay is walking home late from a catering gig, when her Medium senses tingle, causing her to pause and look around. Investigation finds some wanna-be paranormal investigators in a circle chanting something Kay doesn’t recognize. But the portal above their heads opening, and the darkness trying to squeeze through has her chasing them away.
Thinking job well done, Kay goes home to her family. The next day, those Medium senses tingle again, and she finds herself and sleeping baby Zach attacked by a formless black entity that can make contact on the living side of the veil. Can she keep her little family safe and disentangle herself from this entity? You have to read this and find out!! 5 awesome stars!!
I am a big fan of the series and it was a nice treat to get this shorter story featuring Kay. I would highly recommend it to fans of the series as a great way to get a better understanding of one of the featured characters.
While it is a shorter read, it doesn’t feel unfinished or rushed. The author is able to develop the storyline and really present a good story that entertains throughout.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.
“I couldn’t do this again. An evil spirit after me, able to hurt me, Laurence, and Zach?” – Kay
Kay was a business owner, a bakery called “Oh! Kay’s!” . Extremely busy with the Christmas season upon her, a single mom, and a medium, Kay has her hands full trying to juggle all the aspects of her life. The creeping sensation is a warning, one Kay knows she mustn’t ignore. But… There’s nothing there… Was there?
After being attacked in her home, Kay is desperate for answers. Kay’s friend Arianna might have them, but are the answers Kay receives the answers she needs? Kay is terrified the disembodied entity is after more than just communication….
“Right then I realized I couldn’t do this anymore. I wasn’t cut out for this stuff. All the chaos and danger. I wasn’t like Jade; I wasn’t a fighter. I was a peacekeeper. A baker. All these knuckles came in contact with was dough.” – Kay
Another amazing, fast-paced tale, leaping from scene to scene. Kept me guessing until the very end!
I am not a big fan of short stories just because I prefer longer books. Not only that, I don’t like holiday-themed books. However, as I am a fan of this author’s book, I read it anyway. First off, it did not read like a short story, and Christmas wasn’t a central theme in this. The book felt like a longer story because it was filled with an excellent plot, wonderful characters, and an epic ending. I loved seeing things from Kay’s point of view; we get to learn so much about her in this one. There are some surprises, too! You don’t have to have read the others in this series to read this one, but I think to appreciate it more, you should. Besides, they are all great books. Fans for her other books in the series will love the ending! Highly recommend! I was provided a copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
