Love on the Run:
Never Say Necklace #1 – Even though I read Emeralds are Forever first, full of spoilers, that didn’t keep me from enjoying NSN, the first book of the series. NSN is another well written, action-packed, humorous story with an interesting plot. The characters, again, are interesting and they do grow more in EAF. Their dialogue is realistic and there aren’t any stupid formulas or drama, just plain entertainment. I love this author’s work and look forward to more of her books, for which I’ll keep volunteering to review. 5*
Emeralds are Forever #2 – This is my first book of this series and I didn’t miss the previous book. There was just enough mentioning of events in the previous book that kept the reader informed without retelling the story. Emeralds is a well written, interesting book with action, romance and suspense. The characters are interesting and get more so as the book advances to the end. Their dialogue is realistic, humorous and there’s none of the mind games or silly formulas. I’ve enjoyed all the books I’ve read so far by Ms. Hardy/Ms. Weist. I volunteered to review her books many books ago. 5*
The Crown is Not Enough #3 – OK, there a couple of things that I couldn’t ignore; like setting the fire alarm – unacceptable, bad behavior and what they did after the alarm – say huh? But this third addition to the series is well written, well thought out but with a couple of unrealistic burps, along with being fast paced and intriguing, and humorous. The characters are still interesting and funny, amongst some that you wonder about; especially with the mismatched bedrooms. The multiple storylines, along with the main plot, keep the reader immersed in the pages. I recommend reading all three in order, but this one works by itself; you just won’t know the rest of the stories. I contacted the author to review her books. 4*
Christmas Royale #4 – Another good addition to the series. Quickly read but entertaining with intrigue and suspense, and a touch of romance, and interesting storylines. I love the way Ms. Hardy snuck in some of the characters and places from her Silver Script and Cottonwood Ranch series. There was a large family feeling with those additions and made the story flow well. Of course, all the characters are likable, some lovable and all realistic. No stupid formulas, vulgar language or explicit sex; my type of story. I contacted the author to review her books. 5*
Love on the Run Series end.
Spies R Us!
This novel clearly interweaves all three of author Jaclyn Hardy’s series in a fast-paced light thriller. I know–seems like a contradiction in terms. And there are lots of tense moments and chases and shooting and plots, but there is also a tender romance and quite a bit of quiet humor. Although set a the holidays, I must say this is NOT a greeting card tale! And if this is the first of her stories you’ve read, it stands alone perfectly well, James Bond vibes and all.
Jewel Thieves
Sarah was meeting her family in Jackson Hole for Christmas. She was checking emails before her flight and got one from Todd and a jewel theft ring. They met up but after that it is one twist and turn after another.
