What a great Christmas story!! Teddy had me laughing out loud several times. Been awhile since I’ve been around an almost 6-year old. What a joy. He is the spirit of Christmas. I loved the characters and being there as they went through their good times and bad times. You know life isn’t all fun and games. I would love to go visit with the good folks on Reindeer Road again. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.
This book is fantastic from the title to the story. It felt like coming home and it put me in the Christmas spirit. The story will fill you with hope and love. I really liked Gabe and Mallory’s story and how all of her puzzle pieces finally came together just in time for Christmas and it was about time that Mallory was on the receiving end. Little six year old Teddy stole my heart. He was so cute and precious and a joy to read about. I do not know if this is the last book in the series but if it is it was just perfect. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
What a Christmas delight this story was!! Mallory and Gabe were perfect for each other, and I’m so happy that their families became one. Teddy was such a doll throughout the entire story, I loved him. I’m definitely looking forward to more of this series!!!
Sweet, jolly, and heartwarming!
Christmas on Reindeer Road is a charming, tender tale that takes us back to Highland Falls and into the life of the determined, kindhearted Mallory Maitland as she meanders through all sorts of highs and lows, from losing her husband, fighting for custody of her two stepsons, moving to a new town, starting a new job, and fighting the undeniable attraction she feels for her neighbour, the widowed chief of police, Gabriel Buchanan, who’s busy single-handedly raising three boys of his own.
The prose is light and smooth. The characters are focused, supportive, and compassionate. And the plot is an alluring tale about loss, life, love, family, friendship, community, parenthood, romance, wintery shenanigans, self-discovery, taking chances, and moving on.
Overall, Christmas on Reindeer Road is an amusing, uplifting, entertaining tale by Mason that is perfect for anyone who enjoys a holiday romance that is not only heartfelt but also exceptionally cute and funny.
Christmas on Reindeer Road is the second book in the Highland Falls series. This was such an amazing book, I laughed I cried and couldn’t put the book down. This amazing book really put me in the holiday mood, and got me out of my dark mood from hurting constantly. I loved the chemistry between Mallory and Gabe, Teddy stole my heart. I would certainly recommend this beautiful read to everyone.

I have read every book by Debbie Mason, and this is my favorite one yet!
Mallory Maitland grew up in Highland Falls and has accepted a job offer that’s bringing her back home with her two teenaged stepsons, Oliver and Brooks, along for the ride! The boys haven’t had the easiest of transitions and haven’t warmed up to the idea of leaving their posh lifestyle in Atlanta behind. Mallory hopes that moving to the charm of Highland Falls during the holidays will warm the hearts of the boys, but events land her back into the sights of…
Gabriel Buchanan is just getting his feet under him as the new chief of police in Highland Falls when Mallory Maitland lands back into town… as his next door neighbor! He thought he had his hands full before raising his own three boys, but Mallory and her stepsons surely keep him on his toes! On top of everything, his overbearing mother-in-law is trying to find any excuse to remove his boys from his custody and raise them herself. Teddy, Gabe’s youngest, has a plan, but is it going to work in time with enough Christmas magic?
This book truly was a joy to read. The characters are wonderfully written and Teddy’s joy really brings out the Christmas spirit for everyone. I adored this book and its characters, and cannot wait to see what future books in the series will bring to Mallory, Gabe, and their families.

This is a highly enjoyable read. There are plenty of feels to be had as the well written and engaging story unfolds. The characters are likeable and relatable. In fact the whole book has a real genuineness to it which makes it super easy to connect with. Emotional and with some real depth to it, I thought that this was a very good book. This is my volitional, candid review.
I thought this was a really cute story, it will totally put you in the mood for the holidays that’s for sure. With everything that’s going on in the world right now this book was like a breathe of fresh air for sure. I loved Teddy omg what a huge personality that just shined off the pages and it was really hard not to just fall in love with him, Christmas through the eyes of a child. I loved Mallory she was a saint and just kept fighting for what she believed in. I really was not a huge fan of Gabriel he just was a bit of a jerk to me and I felt like Mallory just deserved better. There is talk of adult situations but never detailed. Overall this was a fun read and I could not put it down. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Another great Christmas book from this author. Loved both single parents, the boys in both familys. All the problems that go with familys, but the togetherness the town comes together in the time of need. Got up early to finish the book and cried happy tears in the end!!! A must Christmas book to read!!!
I loved the family dynamics in this book from being in foster care to raising teen boys this story had me laughing out loud at times. I found the story relatable and just a great story for the holiday season
About the book:
Can the magic of mistletoe bring together two busy single parents?
Mallory Maitland knows all too well what it’s like to feel abandoned, which is why she’s sworn never to give up on her two stepsons — her late husband’s children. But when the teens land in hot water, she’s got a whole new problem: how to resist the caring and incredibly hot Chief of Police Gabriel Buchanan. All Mallory wants is to give the boys a magical holiday. She doesn’t need the distraction of wondering what it would be like to kiss Gabriel under the mistletoe.
After his wife died, Gabriel left his job as an adrenaline-chasing New York City homicide detective to focus on raising his three sons. But back in Highland Falls, he doesn’t have to go looking for trouble. It finds him — in the form of a beautiful neighbor and her troublemaking stepchildren. With Gabriel’s mother-in-law looking for any excuse to gain custody of his sons, Gabriel can’t risk getting involved with Mallory, even though she’s the only woman capable of making this Christmas — and all the rest to come — his best ever.
This is the 2nd of a new series out buy this author. I absolutely loved this book the characters were great I love how this all turn out. The setting was brilliant!
I highly recommend this new series! I’m looking forward to the next one in this series.
Christmas on Reindeer Road is a story of letting the Christmas spirit help you heal, forgive, and find the joy and love within. Although this is the second in the series, it can be read as a stand alone story. Mallory moves back to Highland Falls with her two stepsons to start a new job and create a loving family to help her stepsons heal from the loss of their father. Gabe is the new chief of police in Highland Falls, who is struggling to get the community to accept him while raising his three young sons after the loss of his wife and constantly battling his mother-in-law for custody of the boys. Christmas has lost its appeal for all of Gabe’s family except his youngest son, Teddy, who is determined to save his family and the holiday. Teddy has also determined that Mallory will make a wonderful mother and new wife for Gabe, so he asks Santa to help him bring the two families together. The story that follows will have you laughing out loud, cringing in worry and truly feeling the Christmas spirit and love. The characters are engaging, amazing and entertaining.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
Christmas in a convenient package: yes, please. I thoroughly enjoy Mason’s books and this was no exception. I loved seeing Mallory and Gabe get their true HEA.
Christmas on Reindeer Road is the second book in Debbie Mason’s Highland Falls Series. Even though this is the second book in this series it can very well be read as a standalone. Ms. Mason wrote a wonderful story which drew me right in, making me forget everything else and did not let me go until I turned the last page. This is a very well written book with well-developed characters. Characters you can’t help but fall in love with. This book will bring you tears and also laughter. I was sad when this book ended and am looking forward to the next book in this series.
With her step-sons getting themselves in trouble once again Mallory Maitland knows it is time for a change for them. When their father passed away she promised that she would take care of them and give them the life he wanted for them. But when she announces that they are moving to Highland Falls they aren’t too happy with her, they like the lives they have now. But she thinks the small town might be good for all of them, give them a chance to mend all that is broken and possibly keep the boys from getting in so much trouble.
But that thought is short lived when they land themselves in trouble with the Chief of Police after only a few days in town. Now she is standing face-to-face with one of the most handsome men she has encountered and he isn’t too happy with her, and all she can seem to think about is kissing him!
Christmas on Reindeer Road comes brimming with all the holidays feels you can handle, a heartwarming story, seasonal bliss, and some unforgettable characters make this one a can’t miss read! I thoroughly enjoyed diving between the pages of this one, the characters welcomed me in with open arms and made me feel right at home in their little town. The connection between Mallory and Gabe was easy to see, the sparks and interest were there, but both had trouble admitting that to themselves because of past hurts. So it took them some time to come around, but once they decided to give it a chance it was mostly smooth sailing… with the exception of their meddling families of course. As always Ms. Mason has left me dazzled with her well penned words and uniquely crafted characters, this one was one of her best yet! If you are wanting a story to warm your heart with holiday feels then I highly suggest you get your hands on this one, it’s bound to leave you with loads of holiday cheer!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
What a lovely Christmas treat! This story of two single parents trying their best to deal with less than ideal situations is sweet, funny and totally adorable. Both have challenges with their kids that are only heightened when it becomes apparent that they are attracted to each other–and most of the kids don’t like it AT ALL!
Mallory is trying to raise her two teenage stepsons and Gabe is raising his three boys after the death of his wife. Toss is job struggles, people in the small town that don’t like them, two cantankerous old men and a mother-in-law determined to cause trouble and you have a really good book. Add a little boy determined to bring back Christmas cheer to his family and get a new mother for his dad for Christmas and you have an outstanding Christmas story.
The scene in which Mallory and Gabe are eating in his car in the garage to escape the kids was my favorite. It was hot and hilarious all at the same time. If for no other reason, you should read Christmas on Reindeer Road for that scene alone!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
Christmas on Reindeer Road by Debbie Mason is a super cute Christmas romance. There are lots of fun tropes for romance readers: small town, Christmas town, nods to Outlander, second chance, Hot Cop, moving back home.
Mallory moves back to her hometown with her two teenage stepsons. After losing their father (her husband) and a tough trail with an ex-wife, they all need a fresh start. Mallory is hoping celebrating Christmas in Highland Falls will do just that. Though the town and her boys with throw lots of complications her way.
Gabe is the chief of police and facing his own complications. Being accepted by the town seniors and his intense in-laws. He is a single father of three boys. His youngest son, Teddy, is almost 6. Teddy is the highlight of this book I must say. Mason does such a great job of really capturing how cute and funny this age can be.
This was my first time reading Debbie Mason and she is a very skillful writer. Christmas on Reindeer Road has a large cast of characters with complicated relationships. Mason keeps them all very clear so there is never a tangle or confusion. I really worried that these complications would bog down the story but so many things pop up that there is always something new moving the MCs toward each other.
Works very well as a stand alone. Though I think I may go back to the first to find out more about the secondary characters and Outlander tourism references.

I have always loved Debbie Mason’s books and this one does not disappoint. Such a heartwarming Christmas story. Two families-both widowed-blend their families together. Gabe, the Chief of Police, is raising his three sons alone while trying to keep his meddling mother-in-law from gaining custody of the boys. Mallory has custody of her two step-sons and they are a hand full. Gabe’s adorable son Teddy makes it his Christmas mission to blend their families together with the help of Santa of course.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for this advanced review copy. In return, I am submitting my unbiased and voluntary review. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
Small town Highland Falls is much like every small town should be with it’s cozy shops, annual Christmas parade, friendly neighbors and of course, your town gossips and know it alls. Mallory returns back to Highland Falls with hopes of making a new life and raising her step sons. They aren’t thrilled with the idea and the town gossips are causing chaos. Even though she’s had a rough past, she has a heart of gold.
Gabe, a widower, took a job as police chief and moved there to raise his boys and he too, has his problems in the town and his deceased wife’s mother.
This is a very tender, sweet Christmas story that has you believing in the magic of Christmas. Little Teddy an adorable 5 yr. old that is clever, innocent and wise beyond his years and believes Santa will make everything work out.
The story is filled with family drama, friends, misunderstandings, teenager troubles, heartache, humor and romance. It also reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Highland Falls.
