A steamy, full-length, standalone holiday romance with a guaranteed HEA from Amazon Bestselling author J.H. Croix! If you like smoking hot romance with alpha men and strong women, you’ll love this series! Sometimes it takes more courage to love than to be alone. When Janie Stevens gets fished out of the icy ocean after a boating accident, she doesn’t expect to fall for the man who saves her. … the man who saves her. Travis Wilkes, the man in question, is all kinds of man—firefighter, emergency responder and pure, rugged masculinity. She’s completely unprepared for the burning, yearning craving he kindles.
Travis is the quintessential sexy outdoorsman and much too busy for love. He’s been honed by a life on the edge in Alaska and not much rattles him. When he yanks Janie out of the freezing waters of picturesque Kachemak Bay, he takes one look into her eyes and can’t stop thinking about her. A man who doesn’t blink in the face of danger finds himself nearly brought to his knees by a woman.
Janie has her reasons for being committed to a life that doesn’t include romance. To say she has trust issues is a bit of an understatement. With the sparks flying between Janie and Travis burning too hot for them to ignore, they discover there may be much more than passion binding them together. Steamy nights, snowy days and Christmas just might convince Travis and Janie that love is possible.
*All novels in this series are full-length standalone novels with an HEA.

A relaxing afternoon read. Janie and Travis’s story will keep you entertained.
I really enjoy all J.H Croix books
Great holiday read.
Another great story in the Diamond Creek series. Travis and Janie were always meant to be together they just hadn’t found each other yet. I love that the characters from earlier books make appearances and tie the stories together.
Love this series! Travis does more than rescue Janie from a near-drowning, he rescues her heart as well! After living in the same small Alaska town for years, Travis and Janie don’t notice each other in a romantic way until he rescues her when she falls off a boat and nearly drowns. Between work, her teenage daughter and a distrust in men, Janie doesn’t have time for men, especially a bachelor like Travis! A great read to see how their story unfolds!
I found J.H. Croix searching for books set in Alaska… I’m truly glad I did… Every book I’ve read in the Alaskan series I fell in love with the characters and setting… I have never been disappointed she’s a wonderful writer and story teller… She now has a new series out… The British Soccer series… Another great series and I’m not an everyday sports fan…. With Liam and Alex’s I’m quickly becoming a soccer fanatic…Try one of her books I believe you’ll enjoy it.
Too much sex-gets boring.
This book didn’t seem to go anywhere. Predictable romance plot.
Nice story. Clean but does have some steamy scenes. Just minor angst in regards to the issues of the relationship with Travis and Janie. Just a little bit a lying about how she distances herself from him. I understand her issues after what happens to her mom and her when she was younger but he was a great guy. And he was honest and up front about his feelings. It hurt to see him in pain about possible rejection. But a scare brings everything into perspective. Good story.
Janie hadn’t realized how she had left the past form her life. She’s a beautiful woman, caring, and loved by her students she taught in elementary. Janie had closed her life off to basically having no desire to date, or a serious relationship for herself. Yet, she took in foster children. When Stella landed in her home for foster care after Stella’s mother had died, her father deep into drugs, CPS turned to Janie.
It didn’t take long, that Janie adopted Stella and they had a steady life for Stella to settle into a loving girl and strong for what she had been through, after 3 years with Janie, it was as if she had always been, Janie was her Mom. Janie and Stella enjoyed the outdoors, with hiking tails, camping and taking group boats out on the water towards hiking trails they loved during the different seasons.
Janie and Stella was on a early autumn excursion on the water taking them to one of their favorite trails. They had a beautiful day until all of a sudden the boat Janie was on started taking on water. They were bailing the water as fast as they could, then the boat lisped to the side and Janie tried to grab the rail to keep from going into the water. Janie knew even though it was early autumn, the water was fridge and it wouldn’t take long for her to become unable to handle it. But, her hand missed the rail and she was in the water fighting to get to the top, she was losing the ability to move, think and just trying to survive, when all of a sudden a strong arm and hand yanked her from a horrible ending. The most glacial blue eyes were piercing hers and a strong voice was demanding her to hold still, she would be ok.
Unknow to Janie, she was starting on a journey of facing her past and letting her heart heal and leading her to a full life, the way it was meant to be, if she could let it happen after building a wall of security around her heart for years after seeing what mistreatment of her Mother did to her. Would Janie be able to let that wall crumble and realize that not all men are users and abusers?
Janie’s journey to heal is a rollercoaster, but I celebrated her triumphs and felt her insecurity. Most of all, I just rejoiced in her healing heart being able to except love completely the way it’s meant to be. This is a enlightening, delightful story I couldn’t stop reading. Characters are great, story is well written that, I think many will enjoy this journey. I know I can’t wait to read another story from J. H. Croix.
Another great story from J.H. Croix! I have loved every book I’ve read of hers.
This is Janie and Travis’ story. Both characters had been introduced in earlier stories. Janie and her adopted daughter, Stella, were introduced in Emma’s story, “Love Unbroken”. Although with any of her books you don’t have to read previous ones, I have loved reading from the first book to get to know all of the characters in Diamond Creek, Alaska.
The way the author describes Diamond Creek is amazing. It’s so beautiful in her books you wish you were there.
A great love story where neither one is looking for love, but it just knocks them over.
Finding Love
Another wonderful book in the series. Janie had been independent, and adopted her foster daughter. But when she almost drowns & is rescued by Travis, she didn’t know looking into those blue eyes would change her life.
It sounded like a great read.
It was hard to read because there was absolutely, in my opinion, no drama.
A couple broken bones and a dislocated shoulder was the amount of drama there was in this book.
This was just to fast of a story. It took place between thanksgiving and Christmas. I did not like that the female character, I forget her name, could not forgive herself for the choice she made to keep her child. She kept thinking her daughter may have been better off if she had given her up for adoption. In my opinion, I felt that was probably the best decision she made. She never really made any decisions, she was constantly on the fence about everything.
A fun, romantic read.
A sweet, lovely story with a predictable plot and characters that are relatable and likeable. A couple of dramatic moments keep you reading.
okay for light reading nothing special overused themes
Another great holiday read.
I enjoyed getting to know the characters as well as the descriptions of the weather and scenery of Alaska. Throughly enjoyable.
Good plot but pretty mellow
