A steamy, full-length, standalone holiday romance with a guaranteed HEA from Amazon Bestselling author J.H. Croix! If you like smoking hot romance with alpha men and strong women, you’ll love this series! Sometimes it takes more courage to love than to be alone. When Janie Stevens gets fished out of the icy ocean after a boating accident, she doesn’t expect to fall for the man who saves her. … the man who saves her. Travis Wilkes, the man in question, is all kinds of man—firefighter, emergency responder and pure, rugged masculinity. She’s completely unprepared for the burning, yearning craving he kindles.
Travis is the quintessential sexy outdoorsman and much too busy for love. He’s been honed by a life on the edge in Alaska and not much rattles him. When he yanks Janie out of the freezing waters of picturesque Kachemak Bay, he takes one look into her eyes and can’t stop thinking about her. A man who doesn’t blink in the face of danger finds himself nearly brought to his knees by a woman.
Janie has her reasons for being committed to a life that doesn’t include romance. To say she has trust issues is a bit of an understatement. With the sparks flying between Janie and Travis burning too hot for them to ignore, they discover there may be much more than passion binding them together. Steamy nights, snowy days and Christmas just might convince Travis and Janie that love is possible.
*All novels in this series are full-length standalone novels with an HEA.

Nice Christmas story
I liked the book enough that I read it a second time to get all the fine details! Well written!
Sweet book
Another great read from this author. Well written.
Very enjoyable.
I just loved this book. It was a great addition to a wonderful series.
Learning about Alaska while reading this story made it so interesting. Love found unexpectedly when you thought your chance has passed. Navigating being a parent and falling in love causes unique stolen moments. Had good chuckle at times.
Good character development in that intuitively Travis was able to connect with Janie’s teenage adoptive daughter. I think it helped the relationship move along, as we know how children (especially teenagers) can sometimes get in the way of relationships.
Easy and enjoyable reading.
This is a pleasant Christmas story about a romance between a teacher and a firefighter in Alaska. The descriptions of the scenery add to the overall delight.
I enjoyed the book but it didnt need the steamy parts.
Breaking up with my Boss was a very good read. It’s an enemies to lovers genre book with a HEA!
This book has some very steamy scenes as well as some very real touching scenes.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was such an awesome holiday romance from JH Croix! Janie is dragged out of the icy ocean by Travis, while her daughter Stella watches frantically from another boat! Sparks fly instantly, and Stella is all for it, however Janie has a past, that has most definitely affected her future and any relationships. Travis has a very busy career as a firefighter and wasn’t looking for anything either. Stella steals the show in the story, she is feisty and damn fun keeping Travis on his toes regularly! Love sneaks up on these two, question is, can they get out of their own way and just let it happen? These two have a fiery chemistry! I am so sad to see this series end, but I absolutely recommend it!
Wasn’t quite sure what to expect but was delighted when I started to read. The story flowed easily and one wanted to continue .
Loved learning about the raw beauty of Alaska .
The characters had to overcome many of their inner fears and did so in the presence of love .
This was a beautiful well written story .
Very good book ,great writer
I love this author and this story is no different with wonderful relatable characters and romantic alphas The way she describes Alaska scenery makes me want to visit
Really enjoyed the read
Liked reading about Travis and Janie with their back and forth actions because they were afraid to commit to each other.
Janie is involved in a boating accident and is rescued from the cold Alaska water by firefighter Travis. Janie is a single adoptive mother with a past who has never dated and keeps men at arm’s length.
Travis is a man who loves the outdoors and is too busy for romance. Who runs into fires and danger but never runs into love.
Can they work through her trust issues and his lack of love to find a life together??
Good Christmas read.
Definitely several pages of steamy a few times. Fast moving story. Interesting people.
Edit: Easy to skip / skim the steamy and stay with the story. This deals with the after affects of witnessing your mother’s inability to stop an abuser until the abuser harms her child (now the woman in the story). There is nothing ‘just get over it’ about abuse.
