My problem with Leo is his self righteousness. It’s a real turn-off. Jenna is self indulgent, but she is capable of change. The fact is that these two are what each other needs. Why do people ever try to plan things that try to deceive other people? Two things are bound to happen; one, things are going to blow up in your face; two, you are either going to fall in love or hate each other forever. This story needed more emotion to bring the plot to a satisfying finish.
ONE EXCITING CHRISTMAS TREAT!!!
Sassy, sweet and fun! Joanne tore this baby down, laid it bare and rebuilt it in titanium. She rocks this baby from the start, revving it up into a tailspin with astonishing impacts. You get it all with this block buster, sinking in so deep until nothing else matters. A whirlwind with a myriad of spiraling emotions burst forward. All the drama, uncertainty, revelations, a little humor and intrigue blaze all the pieces together for one wild ride. An awesome storyline and gripping plot kicks this baby up a few steps on the charts. The characters are realistic with personalities and depth that draw you in. The scenes are so graphically descriptive and detailed it bursts with every color on the spectrum. Amazing job Joanne, thanks for sharing this gem with us.
What a fun, short, sweet romantic tale of enemies turning to lovers story. I liked the banter and how the main characters did not really like each other but had agreed to be fake girlfriend and boyfriend for the holiday season. I also liked how Leo brought out the best in Jenna and made her seem more likable and lovable unlike the princess model she had been. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
3.5 Stars
As shallow as she initially seemed, I liked Jenna. She kept an open mind and tried to see the positive even while Leo was not very nice to her. As the story went on and their chemistry became evident when they kissed, it also started to appear when they talked.
He’s such a nice guy that he is often mistaken for being boring. She’s so intent on following her modeling career and being in the limelight, that she is believed to be shallow and self-absorbed. It is only when their mutual need to escape their interfering elders’ matchmaking efforts, that Leo and Jenna make a pact for the holidays. Jenna thought her acting ability was memorable until Leo demands that she kisses him until it looks real. And then all the barriers came tumbling down. This warm-hearted holiday romance is well written, with all the facets that one expects from the Christmas season: changed lives, romance, and family. The book is a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
