This story originally appeared in the Hockey Holidays Anthology in November 2018.Shane Masters wants nothing to do with Christmas. His idea of holiday fun is hanging out with the single guys from the Baltimore Banners while the team has a few days off for the season. The last thing he wants to do is go home and face the memories that haunt him at night–but this year he has no choice. He heads … has no choice. He heads home, convinced he can put the past behind him.
Chloe Hunter needs a miracle and will stop at nothing to make it happen–not if it means keeping her brother from his downward spiral. Pulling Shane Masters into the picture seems like the perfect solution–until she sees him again and realizes the past isn’t as far away as she thought.
But Shane doesn’t believe in second-chances or happy-ever-afters, not anymore. And it’s going to take a Christmas miracle for the woman who knew him best to thaw his heart before it’s too late.

This is the 1st book I read by Lisa B. Kamps. This book’s storyline was okay. This book’s storyline was sad . I liked the hot & steamy scenes. I liked Chloe’s character. I liked Shane’s character. I felt sorry for Wyatt. I liked the ending.
This is a great taster of the next book in the Baltimore Banners series and it most definitely gets you hooked and needing to read Fighting To Score to find out what happens next for Shane and Chloe. One night everything changes for Shane his best friend Wyatt and Wyatt’s twin sister Chloe 5 years later Chloe decides the hate and guilt needs to stop, from there you are on a knife edge seeing things unfold wishing things will come together and wondering if any of them can actually take the first step to move past what happened.
This was published originally in the Holiday Hockey anthology. It’s Shane’s turn to have a story, and boy, is it a story. We meet Chloe and Wyatt, and Wyatt’s anger. Chloe is a sweetheart with a big heart, and I look forward to her becoming part of the Banner family. Is a great lead in to the next book in the Banner’s series. I can’t wait to see how this all turns out.
This 5 star prequel novella hooks you into the story of Shane and Chloe and leaves you wanting more. I’m so excited for their full length story, Fighting To Score, which will be released on 16 January 2019.
We get glimpses of Shane and Chloe’s past in this warm up story, but there are questions still to be answered, and I get the feeling things won’t be plain sailing as this couple try to heal and move on. I felt emotion after emotion whilst reading this story, and there was so much packed into the pages. If you’re new to this talented author’s work, then this novella would be an ideal introduction and you’ll definitely be left ready to download and consume everything else she has written.
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
Short and sweet. Definitely need to read more about Shane and Chloe
This is a fantastic and intense story! It’s a fairly quick read but very captivating. It’s about coming to terms with your past so you can move forward. I loved this holiday story! This one is about Shane Masters. His Aunt has asked him to come home after being gone for five years. This second chance story has angst, drama and holiday romance. This is a very well written story with some great characters! I look forward to reading “Fighting to Score”!!
Loved it! Cannot wait to read more of Chloe and Shane’s story. An excellent holiday novella about healing and second chances! I read an ARC copy of this book
This is a great short novella to get you in the christmas spirit.
It deals with Shane from the Baltimore Banners going back home for christmas
after being away for 5 years.
There is so much unresolved angst that I found myself turning the pages.
I look forward to the full novel coming out next year to see what happens.
This was a duel point of view, but I was most drawn to Shane’s POV. Not because his was most of the story, but because I felt like I was in his head. I don’t ever think I’ve read another author’s writing that connected me so with the male as Author Kamps has done with Shane! I thoroughly enjoyed this short story! Looking forward to more!
This is a well written book with Shane and Chloe given a second chance. The author brings strong characters and weaves an intense and emotional story , moves it quickly and smoothly and I loved reading. Highly recommend this book and am looking forward to the next one.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
There’s a lot of emotion packed into this short but sweet story about second chances – for Shane Masters that’s both a second chance with the woman (Chloe) he left behind when he joined the Baltimore Banners, and Shane’s former best friend, Wyatt (who also happens to be Chloe’s twin).
For a novella, this feels like a full-length story!
This is a wonderful addition to Lisa Kamps’ Baltimore Banners series but can be read as a stand-alone…but you will definitely read the other stories because they are all great!
So much emotion and romance was packed into this novella and WOW!! I loved it!!! I can’t wait to get the rest of Shane and Chloe’s story and hopefully more on Wyatt.
Five years ago something happened to tear Chloe and Shane, and Shane and her brother Wyatt apart. Chloe has waited long enough and sets a plan in motion to get everyone face to face again and hopefully mend fences and repair relationships. Let’s hope there is enough Christmas cheer in the air to make it work!
I love the Banners series and will never get enough. If I can get this wrapped up in a novella, the book is going to do me in emotionally I can feel it! I always look forward to floating away in Lisa Kamps’ stories!
This second-chance Christmastime quick read kept me glued to the book from beginning to end with realistic characters and a beautifully written emotionally-charged story. I love the Baltimore Banners series and can’t wait to read more about Shane and Chloe’s story that comes out in January. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and this is my voluntary and unbiased review.
Christmas Interference is a quick sweet romance and can also be found in the Hockey Holidays Anthology.
Shane, a player for the Baltimore Banner hockey team, has lived with guilt and regret for the past five years and now he comes back home to face his best friend and his true love. The magic of Christmas does wonders to finally heal and repair what was lost by not only Shane but Wyatt and Chloe.
Just about perfect
Note I originally read and reviewed this as part of the Hockey Holidays anthology. While the anthology had a ton of great stories, this stood out there as one of my favorites.
Part of the Baltimore Banners series (which I haven’t read before though I have previously read and liked this author), I thought this worked well as a standalone and was a nice little introduction to the series and to the author’s writing style.
With great characters, this was a heart wrenching second chances story that still had some true lol moments (omg, the Christmas tree scene! ), all of which I loved. This series has gone on my TBR list and I’m already looking forward to the next book, which I believe is coming out in a month or so.
Just about perfect, my only regret is that it wasn’t longer. 5+ stars
