Knightly If practice makes perfect, I should excel at pretending that Heath Miller doesn’t affect me. That I’m immune to that wide jaw, taut body, and the unique woodsy-aftershave-engine-oil scent that makes my ovaries explode.Since before I could walk, he’s been my champion, and my best friend. The one problem he can’t solve for me is him. Why? If I tell him I love him, I’ll lose him and his … Why? If I tell him I love him, I’ll lose him and his adorable daughter. Maybe the best Christmas gift I can give him—and myself—is to turn in the keys to my B&B and put some distance between us.
Heath
I’ve made my share of mistakes. Lost my MIT scholarship, came home to fix cars and romance Kentbury’s female tourists—until I wound up a single father. For all eight years of Cassie’s life, Knightly’s been my anchor.
I’ve changed. Cassie’s the best part of me, and Knightly’s been there every step of the way. But as Christmas lays its mantle of magic over Kentbury, she drops a bomb—she’s following a dream to New York City. I’ve got one week to do everything, say everything I’ve never dared. To convince my best friend to be mine—ours—for all the holidays to come.

Absolutely loved this book had me hooked till the very end and had me disspointed when it ended because it ended. Claudia did an amazing job you will absolutely love it
Lee and Heaths story is so amazing and frustrating at the same time!!! They have been friends for decades. This sweet romance took far too long in my opinion but maybe for them it was just right. I loved everything about this story and enjoyed it’s HEA. I also loved Lee’s dad and of course Cassie 🙂 This is another wonderful story from Claudia!
Telling someone you have always loved them is not as easy as it sounds! 3 words that could be the key to the future you’ve always dreamed of or the end of a friendship that means the world to you! Lee has a decision to make and its one that can affect more than just her and her best friend Heath! It’s one that could affect the whole town! How can one decision be so crucial? Read this heat warming tale about love and second chances in life to find out what she chooses!
Knightly “lee” and Heath from the start had me wanting more of their story! Their friendship and bond is one that anyone could ever hope for in life. I absolutely adored Lees ability to know and care for everyone around her! She’s the mother hen and is such a strong woman! Heath though he’s rough around the edges is a man who cares deeply for those that he loves and will go through great lengths to keep them happy! He was is an amazing character and though this is a novella I hope to see them both again in the future!
Fabulous little story!
“It gets harder to feign that I’m not in love with Heath Miller.”
With a bit of encouragement from her brothers, Knightly Harris makes the decision to move away to NYC for a while. She make a fresh start where nobody knows her and try and ‘unfall’ out of love with her best friend, Heath. She’d be leaving a lot behind – her beloved B&B business, the family resort, and sweet, little Cassie – Heath’s daughter, who is like her own.
“I don’t miss what I’ve never had, but I yearn for what I could have with her.”
Heath led a tearaway life before the advent of his daughter, Cassie. However, when she came into his life, Knightly stepped up and took her into her own heart immediately. Heath doesn’t think he’s relationship material nor does he feel he’s got much to offer Knightly – the true girl of his dreams. However, with the threat of her leaving Kentbury for a new life in NYC, he’s realised that he really can’t live without her.
“This is how we’ll do it. I hand you my heart…I’ll take care of the rest.”
I adored Heath and Knightly’s story. They really belonged together. They had history, fun times, and a solid unswerving friendship between them. They’ve always looked after one another and raised Cassie together. I loved Heath’s efforts to win her over. Once they let their walls down, the heat between them was undeniable. Gorgeous, heartwarming story and a beautiful ending.
Engine oil and woodsy aftershave fill the air, her heart shattering a little more.
The love of her life, her hearts desire, so near yet so far, within reaching distance.
Years together, from childhood through to adulthood, feelings unanswered yet growing stronger.
Heath sensible and loyal, devoted yet afraid.
Knightly so patient and true, a surrogate mother and loving friend, her dreams vanishing slowly but surely.
Another beautiful read from Claudia Burgoa.
I did feel a tad frustrated with the main characters as they were oblivious to what was right infront of their noses, but they were both endearing enough to not have me screaming at my kindle.
I don’t usually bother reading Christmas books/novellas but I’m glad I gave this a try as it’s like a hallmark film on a lazy afternoon. Fantastic entertainment and your left with a glass full of love.
Feel down on love then this is definetly the pick me up read you need. Just want to restore your faith in humanity again yup it does that too.
I bet you will enjoy it as much as I did.
Christmas in Kentbury was a sweet, emotional novella that made me smile, swoon and left me with all the feels. I absolutely loved this friends to lovers story. Lee and Heath were just perfect together. Both in love with the other but afraid to say anything, I enjoyed watching how everything played out in this story and truthfully I wished the book was longer. The story was fast-paced but so well written.
This heart-warming page-turner was a fantastic read and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
If you love a great holiday story, this one is perfect for you!! Christmas in Kentbury is really cute and wonderful friends to lovers story.
We meet Heath and Knight who met when they were really young and they have been in love with each other for a lot of time but they have always feel insecure about ruining their friendship in case a relationship doesnt work, but Knight finds herself in a point where she needs to start living and forget about her love for Heath, so she decide to move on with her life, but when Heath found this news he decided to do whatever he can to have Knight with him forever, althought he thinks he is not good enough for her, so you need to read this novella to see what happens and if in the end they have their HEA.
In this story you will find a really cool secondary characters and a little lovely girl.
Congratulations Claudia for this beautiful novella!
What an amazing story of friendship to love. The people in the town crack me up with their comments to the couple in question. This is the first book I’ve read of hers. Can’t wait to read more!
Marvelous super sweet Christmas tale, from friends to lovers, afraid to ruin a good thing. But when your best friend and the love of your life decides to finally move on with her life what are you going to do about it. Are you finally going to give your child the one gift she desires above all else for Christmas…a mother. This is a steamy passionate Christmas read sweet as a candy cane, you are sure to find just as satisfying.
Knightly (Lee) and Heath have been best friends forever. She’s been in love with him for that long it seems too, he’s practically a part of her family. Then a woman shows up and just drops his daughter off to him and Lee steps up to the plate once again for him. She’s a giver and makes everyone around her happy. She wants it all though…her own family, her own husband, her own baby. She finally has to give up her dream in Kentbury and goes to NY but Heath ends up going with her.
Will he be able to make her see that he is what she wants, that he wants it all with her too or is it going to be too late? What is he going to be able to make her realize that he loves her too?
This novella is a friends to lovers story, short, sweet and real.
Heath and “Lee” are amazing together, he wasn’t a jerk,I loved that, he was gentle, sweet and loving.
And she was loyal, loving, and kind of stubborn, the perfect combination to make a great book. It’s a must read this time of year.
This was a nice, quick read. Heath has been friends with Lee and her brothers their whole lives, and he and Lee are best friends. They are each in love with the other, but they are both trying to hide it. Heath doesn’t want to ruin their friendship, and Lee thinks he sees her as one of the guys. Since he first got Cassie, though, Lee has been a part of their lives, loving Cassie as if she was her own daughter. When Lee has had enough of being just a friend, she decides she needs a change of scenery to get over him. She agrees to a job interview in New York City, and also decides that she should stop waiting to meet someone to start a family of her own and sets an appointment for a consultation with a fertility doctor to have a baby on her own.
The thought of her leaving makes Heath realize he’s wasted too much time hiding his feelings, and he goes with her to convince her that he is everything she needs. But how can he convince her he loves her and isn’t just trying to make his daughter happy?
What I liked: Lee’s dad was great. Cassie is adorable. I liked Lee, too. The town of Kentbury seems to be full of interesting characters, too.
What I didn’t like: This is probably a positive to many of you, but it reads like a Hallmark Christmas movie. I know those are super popular, but they’re just not my thing. The ending was almost too perfect. Actually, I was completely on board until the very end (before the epilogue).
Overall: Good book. It’s from Claudia Burgoa, so you know the writing is fantastic. If you like the sappy holiday movies, you’ll love this one.
Sassy, sexy and sweet as candy canes, from the author who brought you steamy romances like the Unexpected series. Claudia Burgoa captures the feeling of Christmas spectacularly with this seasonal novella and I for one fell instantly in love with this couple. This is truly the perfect December read to put you in the festive mood, to have you dancing round Christmas trees and baking mince pies or whatever festivities you get up to (no judges here! Let yo Christmas freak fly!).
I’m dying for more insight into this epic couple, and obviously the whole single dad thing always makes us swoon! Go go go, one click and curl up with this book and Santa this Christmas.
Loved this amazing second chance.Knight and Heaths amazing beautiful emotional love story was intense.need longer and more of these two.
Christmas in Kentbury is like my favorite Hallmark Christmas movie. It’s actually perfect timing for me because it took me until this year to really start watching those movies. I know, I’ve been missing out. The reason I’m telling you all of this is because I’m obsessed this year. I’m talking recording everything on three different channels obsessed. My favorite ones have a little bit of angst. And who is the queen of angst? Claudia Burgoa. She gave just what I needed in this Christmas novella.
Lee and Heath have been best friends since they were kids and they have secretly loved each other for just as long. Neither one of them wants to mess up their friendship so they’ve continued to hide their feelings. When Lee makes a decision that might rip them apart, Heath has to man up and show her how perfect they would be for each other.
I dare you not to fall in love with both Lee and Heath. Lee is sweet, loyal and has a great sense of humor. Heath is protective, loyal and a single Dad that will melt your heart. His interactions with both Lee and Charlotte could chip away at an Ice Queen’s heart.
If you are looking for a Christmas romance with the right amount of sweet that is balanced with a dash of angst, then you need to drop everything and read this baby. You can thank me later.
Aweeee, Health and Knightly. This was fun, sweet, sexy holiday goodness.
I loved this friends to lovers romance! Heath and Knightly (Lee) have been best friends from birth, just like their mothers were. Heath is a single dad to an adorable little girl, Cassie. Lee has been there for them both, helping to raise Cassie like she was her own. Heath and Lee have depended on each other so much, that they’re afraid to risk wanting more, only to lose it all. When Lee can’t wait any longer to have a family of her own, she decides to move on with her life by moving to New York. Heath can’t face a day without her, and knows he must do whatever it takes to convince Lee that he is the only man for her. Heath and Lee are wonderful characters. Their love for each other and chemistry flies right off the page. Everyone in town knows their perfect for each other, and it’s crazy they have waited so long to take the leap. But when they do, their passion is explosive! I absolutely loved this heartwarming, sweet & sexy romance and was not ready for it to end! This holiday story will warm up those cold winter nights and definitely add to your holiday cheer!
If you need a feel good story to get you into the holiday spirit I think this book will do the trick. Knightly (aka Lee) and Heath have been friends since they were children, but somewhere along the line Lee’s feelings for Heath changed and she fell in love with him. Heath has the most adorable eight year old daughter, Cassie, whom Lee is helping him raise and treats her as her own. But what do you do when you are in love with your best friend and he has you in the friend zone? You take time for yourself to figure things out and hopefully move on with your life, so you can find someone that loves you as much as you love them.
This story takes us on a journey of self discovery and realization that it’s time to admit to yourself as well as other about feelings you have been harboring before you loose one of the most important people in your life. I hope we get to revisit this quaint little town of Kentbury Vermont because we meet a few people that really need to find their HEA’s.
If friends-to-lovers is your thing, or if your in the mood for a holiday romance, I recommend Christmas in Kentbury by one of my favorite authors Claudia Burgoa. I have a feeling once you meet Lee, Heath, and Cassie they’ll have you falling in love with this picturesque town and the people in it as much as I did. Happy Reading!!!
Heath and Knightly have known each other forever, are best friends and Lee has always been there even when he became a single dad, however both have also hidden how much they are in love with the other and time may be up. Lee’s family are great whether you like them or not they have character and are also Heath’s surrogate family as well but things are changing and Lee needs more than her family and her friend Heath. There are plenty of emotions to go through while reading, frustration at not only Heath and Lee but also one of her brothers, falling in love with Cassie, hope that love will find a way and anxiousness that things may or may not work out. This may be a quick read but there is plenty going on and will leave you satisfied!
I absolutely love Heath and Cassie’s story!!!! Their banter, their love, their journey!!!!! Claudia Burgoa, you did an amazing job!!!!!! I always stayed away from holiday reads, but I wanted to read yours!!!! I may just have changed my mind, I may start reading them if they’re anything like yours!!!!!
