Knightly If practice makes perfect, I should excel at pretending that Heath Miller doesn’t affect me. That I’m immune to that wide jaw, taut body, and the unique woodsy-aftershave-engine-oil scent that makes my ovaries explode.Since before I could walk, he’s been my champion, and my best friend. The one problem he can’t solve for me is him. Why? If I tell him I love him, I’ll lose him and his … Why? If I tell him I love him, I’ll lose him and his adorable daughter. Maybe the best Christmas gift I can give him—and myself—is to turn in the keys to my B&B and put some distance between us.
Heath
I’ve made my share of mistakes. Lost my MIT scholarship, came home to fix cars and romance Kentbury’s female tourists—until I wound up a single father. For all eight years of Cassie’s life, Knightly’s been my anchor.
I’ve changed. Cassie’s the best part of me, and Knightly’s been there every step of the way. But as Christmas lays its mantle of magic over Kentbury, she drops a bomb—she’s following a dream to New York City. I’ve got one week to do everything, say everything I’ve never dared. To convince my best friend to be mine—ours—for all the holidays to come.

I am a huge fan of Claudia Burgoa’s writing. She always brings great characters to the table. Knightly and Heath’s story although short is well written and such a good holiday romance. I loved falling in love with these best friends as they navigate couple territory. It was a good read for a novella. I would have loved more towards the ending for them as their relationship progressed, but it was a complete story. Good holiday read! Perfect to put you in the spirit.
This was a sweet book about second chances. The build up was fantastic, but the ending felt a bit rushed. It’s a novella, so it had to wrap up pretty quickly, but I would have loved for this to be a full length novel! Overall, a great quick read!
This is the first book I’ve read by Claudia Y. Burgoa and it will certainly not be the last. She writes with a smooth style that pulls readers in on page one and grabs their hearts and minds and refuses to let go until the last page. Her characters are lovable and realistic and this storyline flows perfectly.
Heath (omg I have always loved that name) is a disappointment to his wealthy family but has surrogate family in his best friends’ family. While his friendship is close with Knightly’s brothers, his friendship with Knightly is different. He’s her protector and she’s his salvation, especially when he suddenly finds himself a single father. Firmly friend zoned, Heath fights his love for Knightly (Lee). Both fear ruining their friendship by going for what they both want, and what his daughter wants also. The storyline promises there could be several side stories told in the future, which is my fervent hope. This Christmas novella is a great read, part friends to lovers and part unrequited love conquered.
This was a wonderful Christmas story. I could not put this book down ot was such a page turner. Once I started I just had to see how it ended. The story had a wonderful flow to it the characters had great chemistry. I hope to see more stories from the other characters.
I am not normally the Christmas story reader and I am so glad I took a chance on this one. Truly this book was a sweet story about a girl and her brother’s best friend (who happens to be a single dad) and wow just wow. My heart was so full while reading this and took me on a nice mellow emotional roller coaster. There was the perfect blend of tension and I loved the humor between the two characters
Lee is a wonderful character that lives her best friend and his daughter, but thinks he has no interest in her. She can’t stand to go another year with him ignoring her.
Heath has known he was in love with Knightly for eight years, but he can’t lose his best friend if their relationship goes bad. He just wants to spend his time with her and his daughter. When Lee decides to move to NY for a new job, he realizes that he needs to make his move before it is too late.
I liked this story, but I do feel that the ending was rather abrupt. The story centers are two people in love, but who are to scared to make a move. I liked when Heath made his move, but I think more time should have been spent on them together.
This is a short and sweet Christmas novella. I really enjoyed this story! I loved all of the characters and it was very well written. Heath and Knightly have been friends since they were kids. They have grown very close and have all became a sort of family. They both don’t know how the other feels and they must make a choice that could change everything. I look forward to reading more by Claudia Burgoa!
This is a short and sweet love story about two friends hiding their love for one another. Lee and Heath have been friends since they were little, and have always been there for each other. When Heath has a daughter unexpectedly, Lee steps in as a mother figure for her. Realizing Heath doesn’t love her the way she loves him, Lee decides to take a job interview in NYC. When Heath hears that, he finally wakes up and decides it’s time to show his true feelings.
I’d recommend this book.
Heath may have made mistakes in his life but the two things he doesn’t regret are his daughter Cassie and his lifelong friendship with his best friend Lee. He is worried that crossing that line could destroy his relationship with not only her but also her family and the consequences to Cassie could be painful.
Lee has loved her best friend Heath as long as she can remember. She has been by his side while he dated other women and has been like a mother to his daughter. She has come to conclusion that they will never be more than friends and being with him without really being with him is too painful, so changes must be made and now Heath must decide if the risk is worth the reward.
This is a friends to lovers story between two soulmates who were afraid to ruin the best relationship in their lives.
Lee has been in love with her best friend Heath for 18 yrs. he’s broken her heart by hooking up with everyone but her and for eight years she’s been raising his daughter Cassie with him.
Lee is finally ready to move on to New York to get over Heath after he gives her his sperm.
Heath you better get cracking cuz you have a hell of a lot to make up for in five days.

Christmas In Kentbury is a sweet friends to lovers, single dad romance that will suck you in from start to finish! I absolutely loved Knightley and Heath’s connection and the relationship Knightley has with Cassie. Both show their venerable sides and come to terms with the feelings they tried desperately to hide. I wish their story was longer! I want to know so much more about them and their life together!
Christmas in Kentbury by Claudia Burgoa was a sweet and charming holiday novella with all the feels. A story about best friends who wanted more but did not know how to take that step and who are now about to lose everything they truly ever wanted.
Knightly (Lee) and Heath have been best friends forever, but Lee knows she needs to be able to move forward and let him go. So, she makes plans. Now Heath has one week to show Lee all they could be and all they could have, but can he do it? How do you tell the one person who matters most you can’t lose them because you have been afraid to lose them forever?
Christmas in Kentbury by Claudia Y. Burgoa was a sweet and quick holiday romance. I read it in one sitting and loved the characters and story so much.

Happy reading!
Loved reading about Heath and Knightly and their journey to finding each other.
Heath has been in love with his best friend Knightly since they were kids but has never told her. After he gets surprise of his life, he’s a father and will be raising his daughter on his own, his best friend and her family are there every step of the way. Knightly has loved Heath but always felt like he didn’t see her as anything but a friend. Knightly decides she needs to live for herself and goes for a job in New York. Will Heath let her go or will he finally tell her? Can Knightly really walk away from everything? Will they ever be together?
Knightly (Lee) has been in love with her best friend, Heath, for forever it seems. She’s never wanted to potentially stress their friendship, though, so she’s never revealed her feelings. And then he drops a doozy of an announcement on her, one she actually knew before he told her, and it puts the absolute no on any thoughts she had ever had about telling him her more than friendly feelings. Years after his announcement, and she’s decided her life isn’t exactly going the way she had dreamed, and she can’t handle her feelings for him any longer, so she decides to take a job away from their small town. But when Heath finds out, will this be the kick in the ass he needs to let her know that he’s always been in love with her and wants her to stay?
For such a short novella, Christmas in Kentbury packed a serious punch. The character and relationship development is on par with full-length novels, and Lee and Heath are both wonderful characters, likable and well-detailed. Add the heartwarming and sweet touch of Cassie, and what Christmas in Kentbury has to offer is perfect for the holidays – sweet, a little spicy and long on heart and love.
loved this book it was so good I could not put it down I read it in 2 days.
the story between to best friends and a happy ending couldn’t ask for more
This was a short and very sweet romance surrounding best friends, family and unrequieted love. I haven’t read too many Christmas specific stories in a while, so it was a nice step back into a holiday read. Bring together a sassy yet independant woman, with one hunk of a man, a cute little mini-me, two meadling brothers, a town full of gossips and a trip to NYC to get one cute holiday story. Best friends to lovers reigns in this tale of love.
Knightley (Lee) has been in love with her best friend Heath for years. She kept her feelings hidden even when he went out with other girls and especially when he asks her for help when he finds out he’s a father. Lee has always been there for Heath, helping him raise Cassie as if she were her own daughter. But she’s not, and she finally realizes that if she ever wants to have kids with someone who will reciprocate her love, she needs to leave Kentbury to try to get over Heath.
Heath doesn’t know how he would have survived raising Cassie without Lee’s help. Her family has always been there for him and Cassie as well. He’s always had a crush on her, but hasn’t acted on his feelings, unwilling to risk their friendship. But everything changes when he learns she is planning on moving to New York for a new job. It’s up to Heath to show her she can have everything she wants in Kentbury, with him and Cassie.
This was a great friends-to-lovers story, with both characters thinking their feelings are one-sided. Fans of Claudia will love this holiday read!
This was a very quick read for me. A friends to lovers novella.
Knightley and Ben have known each other forever it seems and for that long she has been in love with him, and has been hiding it that long too from him. Of course for everyone around them, this attraction and feeling is not so hidden. When her brother makes a comment to her, Lee as she is affectionately called decides to look at what may be an escape from Heath and his daughter ( the girl she has helped raised and loves like a daughter).
Heath on the other hand has seen Lee and because of some previously bad choices, which resulted in his daughter he is convinced that leaving Lee alone is the way ahead, even if it rips his heart out.
What happens when Heath discovers that Lee is leaving town, will this finally be the push that is needed to bring these two star crossed hearts together for good or will it be love lost forever?
A heartwarming book with some great characters and secondary characters who obviously have their own stories to tell.
