Knightly If practice makes perfect, I should excel at pretending that Heath Miller doesn’t affect me. That I’m immune to that wide jaw, taut body, and the unique woodsy-aftershave-engine-oil scent that makes my ovaries explode.Since before I could walk, he’s been my champion, and my best friend. The one problem he can’t solve for me is him. Why? If I tell him I love him, I’ll lose him and his … Why? If I tell him I love him, I’ll lose him and his adorable daughter. Maybe the best Christmas gift I can give him—and myself—is to turn in the keys to my B&B and put some distance between us.
Heath
I’ve made my share of mistakes. Lost my MIT scholarship, came home to fix cars and romance Kentbury’s female tourists—until I wound up a single father. For all eight years of Cassie’s life, Knightly’s been my anchor.
I’ve changed. Cassie’s the best part of me, and Knightly’s been there every step of the way. But as Christmas lays its mantle of magic over Kentbury, she drops a bomb—she’s following a dream to New York City. I’ve got one week to do everything, say everything I’ve never dared. To convince my best friend to be mine—ours—for all the holidays to come.

Perfect Christmas read – friends to lovers heart-warming romance
I stayed up late into the night, I simply couldn’t put this one down till I found out how story of Knightly and Heath will end. I was so invested in their story that several times I just wanted to go to Kentbury and slap them, like really hard slap them to give them wake up from hiding their feelings.
There is more to the story line, there are meddling siblings, one young lady, whole small town of people who knows who is doing what and two stubborn people who wants more from each other but are afraid to loose each other. Would it be too late for Heath to convince Lee that his feelings are sincere and he always wanted her in his life not necessarily as a friend?
I would love to read more about Kentbury’s characters in the future.
What a beautiful and sweet friends to lovers romance read that will touch the readers heart. It’s fairly short story but what is there packs quite a punch. Quite well written and fast paced, I was hooked in the first chapter and within the first 2 pages. This is a story that will touch your heart and will have you rooting for the main characters. There are some twists/turns in the story that will have you glued to this book to find out what happens.
My Rating: 4.7 stars *****
I love a good Christmas story and I was so very happy that Claudia Burgoa wrote this book!!! Christmas in Kentbury is a light-hearted, delightful and charming novella. Heath and Knightly’s friends to lovers story is simply beautiful and although it’s a quick read, it’s well written and filled with a lot of depth that will capture your heart instantly.
Heath is a single dad (single dad stories are my jam and I was hooked immediately) and Knightly “Lee” is his best friend and they’ve been there for each other since they were kids. I love the idea of a secret love and Lee has been in love with Heath all her life. Although Heath has feelings for Lee as well, he’s unwilling to risk their friendship by revealing his true feelings. Not only is Lee his best friend, she’s also a mother figure to his daughter, Cassie. Lee is at a point in her life where she wants to move on and when Heath realizes he may lose her, he’s sets out on quest to win her over.
Christmas in Kentbury is such a sweet, touching and romantic novella with wonderful characters. It’s heart warming and filled me with the Christmas spirit. I highly recommend this holiday read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this short, sweet, friends to lovers romance. I was left wondering about some issue the plot leaves unresolved, but I’m betting I can pick them up in another story.
Lee and Heath are best friends who everyone in their small town knows should be a couple instead. Even her family is just waiting for the inevitable. Neither one wants to take the leap and lose what they have – but the waiting may drive them apart for good.
These are good people in a cute small town with real life issues. I was rooting for this pair the whole way through and feeling their pain when if they could just have a conversation, they could figure it all out (isn’t that always the way though?) and just be happy together.
A festive romantic read!
I just loved this story and the characters.
Knightly, or Lee, is the owner and manager of the lovely B&B located on her family property. She also devotes her time to helping her best friend, Heath, take care of his daughter, Cassie. She is also secretly in love with Heath, but doesn’t have the courage to declare herself for fear of losing his friendship and Cassie in her life.
Heath has had his share of mistakes, but when he sees himself as a single father of Cassie, he ends up maturing and becoming one of the best people in town, always willing to help anyone who needs it.
Heath also has feelings for Lee, and when she announces that she intends to leave for New York to pursue her happiness, he realizes he has little time to show her what he really feels for her and that all she needs is exactly where she is.
This book could be the first in a series, with the next telling the story of Lee’s brothers.
I highly recommend the reading.
Oh my how I loved this book. It’s very well written and the storyline and characters will warm your heart. This is the type of book you can cuddle up on the couch with and just get lost in story right along with the characters.
Heath and Knightly have been best friends forever. They have always been there for each other, especially in rising Cassie, Heath’s daughter. But they both secretly wish it was more, but don’t let on for fear of messing up what they have. However when Knightly decides she’s going to interview for a job in NY, Heath knows he can’t lose her and has to do something fast. So he convinces Knightly to give him one week to change her mind.
I can’t recommend “Christmas in Kentbury” enough. 5 Stars and 2 Thumbs Up for this wonderful heartwarming read! Grab it up ASAP, you won’t be sorry you did.

Christmas in Kentbury by Claudia Burgoa is a sweet, single parent, friends to lovers, small-town romance told in dual POV.
Knightly (Lee) and Heath have been in love with each other for years and everyone knows it except for them. They have stood by each other through tough times, and Lee has been like a mother to Heath’s daughter, Cassie.
Waiting around for Heath to see her as more than a friend has just become too painful for Knightly. So she decides to make some changes that may take her out of Kentbury and out of Heath’s life.
Unable to stand the idea of life without Lee, it’s time for Heath to make a decision. Will he reveal his feelings and convince her to stay? Or will he let her go, deciding that she’s better off without him? You’ll have to read to find out.
I enjoyed this story. As is often the case with novellas, the ending seemed a bit rushed to me. Overall, it was a sweet and heartwarming tale.

Christmas in Kentbury is a sugarplum holiday season romance novella. A friends to lovers romance that will melt your heart. Adorable characters and a cloyingly sweet plot that keeps you captivated until the end. A perfect Christmastime novella to sit by the Fireplace and drink hot cinnamon apple cider.
