Perfect Summer Beach Read!! The other side of Mackenzie Ridge is fun, sweet and lots of laugh out loud good times. It was great seeing the lighter side of Mackenzie visiting with old friends and meeting new ones. Doc and Fifi’s romance was just as unique as the animals they wind up caring for. I smiled and laughed throughout this story. Highly recommended read if your looking to get lost in the sweeter side of life.
I missed McKenie Ridge! It was so much fun to go back and meet new characters as well as old ones! I absolutely adore Granny Lou! And oh my gosh …the animals. I love animals. So it just made this story even better. The sloth is my spirit animal! This story has it all…sassy, snarky, animals, celebrating, match making granny! What a neat way to have Christmas in July! You most definitely need to read this!
It was so much fun going back to McKenzie Ridge! There were a lot of hilarious moments & also plenty was snark. I loved seeing how hoity toity Fifi Gallagher was when she first returned to McKenzie Ridge to take care of her late Grandma’s estate & sparks fly right away between Fifi & local vet Bain. I enjoyed seeing so many animals in this story too, it was so much fun reading about animals that people don’t usually have for a pet. Some of Fifi’s encounters with fellow McKenzie Ridge citizens were hilarious as well. This was such a fun, quick read!
The ultimate city girl teams up with a country vet to save a Christmas in July festival in this latest McKenzie Ridge novella. And there are animals, lots and lots of animals.
I love McKenzie Ridge and all its quirky residents. This novella is a very funny, quick read, perfect for an afternoon at the beach!
This was a fun quick read. It was great to go back to Mackenzie Ridge and read more about the people there. They are quite the quirky group! Loved Lou, she is quite the hoot and knows everything going on in town. It was great for Doc Bain to find his match. Fiona or Fifi wasn’t necessarily happy to be back in Mackenzie Ridge but she started to fall in love with all the crazy, odd animals that town seemed to have. It helped that those animals were cared for by Doc Bain and were located on the farm she inherited from her grandmother. I loved the Christmas in July party that the town threw and how Fiona was bake to put a summer twist on it. This was a great romance and I look forward to more Mackenzie Ridge stories.
Fans have been dying for more from Mackenzie Ridge and this novella certainly delivered. I adored this novella about a woman who has to decide what to do with her grandmother’s property in Mackenzie Ridge. Come to find out she has to carry on her grandmother Dee’s legacy of being the town Christmas festival chairperson. Her short stay to put the house on the market just got longer. Fifi works on Hollywood films so she can handle yet about anything. Her first encounter at her gram’s house might just be something she can’t though. Who expects a curious bison? Doc Bain has been renting space from Dee for a few years. He’s “collected” a strangle group of animals that all have a personality quirk that can be adorable. When Fifi says she’s going to sell, he doesn’t know what will happen to his practice or his animals.
The banter between them is some of the funniest I’ve read from Ms St Klaire. Their energy bounces off the page. I adored the change that happened in Fifi. Her dream job was not to work on the film’s but something else that she gets back to while she’s in Mackenzie. Her priorities change with each animal that crosses her path. And the Santa letters? I knew there had to be some mystery on the edges of this story. But this was a fun mystery to solve. Perfect ending!
Fiona (Fifi) Gallagher and Doc Jensen Bain are a match made in heaven. Only Fifi just can’t see it. Fifi is like most of us, she knows what she wants out of life and reaches in and goes for the gusto. But back at home, she begins to realize just maybe that’s what she doesn’t want. Can’t we have it all? Doc seems to see an opportunity to win her over with all the stray animals. With characters around every corner and crazy animals, it’s mayhem in McKenzie Ridge.
As an animal lover I was excited about the “zoo” of misfit animals on the ranch, including Fifi’s clothes wearing pet sloth, Dallas.
Stephanie has written a hilarious story in the McKenzie Ridge series you don’t want to miss!
I loved this 1st book in Stephanie St. Klaire’s Spin off, of McKenzie Ridge. I was cracking up from the first chapter with all the snark. Fifi works in Hollywood as a set designer who apparently has a stick up her…. Bain the smoking hot local vet who takes in all the strays of McKenzie Ridge. We get a house trained sloth, a crazy spitting Llama, a baby deer and so many more animals. Throw in a secret admirer Santa and Lou Shaw and you have a hilarious quick read. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to more. This is one book you should really pick up!
July has always held a special place in my heart. It isn’t about the heat. It is about Christmas. For months I stalk the Hallmark Ornament book. I drool over the Christmas movie line up. Stores start stalking crafts and decorations in hopes of sucking up into Christmas Fever. I am at their door, screaming, “Open, Open, Open!” After today that all takes a step back behind Christmas in July, a book, not an idea.
Christmas in July is everything wonderful about Christmas wrapped up in a wonderful, hilarious book. It is a story remembering a dear grandmother, recently passed away leaving Fifi to rediscover home. It is a story of taking care of those less fortunate as Doc Bain takes in stray animals and loving them. It is a celebration of survival after all that has happened in the small town of McKenzie Ridge. It is a story of cooperation as committees work together to bring the Christmas in July Festival to the citizens of McKenzie Ridge.
Christmas in July gives the reader the best gift of all–laughter. I snickered. I howled. I roared. I snorted. So many great and unique situations.
Christmas in July keeps on giving. The reader watches (reads) as romance grows between a little lost girl and Doc Bain, a man that fell for a girl through the stories of a grandmother. I swooned over a modern Dr. Doolittle that happily helped animasl in need, caring for those that would not survive without him.
My heart melted within the pages of this sweet holiday read. I can’t wait to open more gifts as the author adds to this series.
This book had me laughing from the very beginning. Fifi thought she would return to McKenzie Ridge, sort out her Grandmothers estate and go back to her life, but that is not what fate had planned for her. Throw in a sexy vet, a menagerie of dysfunctional animals, a whole bunch of committees who need Fifi’s help and a secret admirer and you get a feel good, Christmas in July, love story. This book is lots of fun and easy to read.
