This book is so Christmassy. I hadn’t seen the movie, although, I’ll look out for it now.
Lisa goes to Evergreen on a last minute whim. There she finds that her professional skills could be useful to selling the general store – which used to be a special Christmas landmark to her. The store used to have a letterbox where people sent letters to Santa. There’s also a snowglobe that grants wishes.
It has all the Christmas stuff you’d ever want and two sweet romances to boot. The only way to describe it is ‘a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form’… which is exactly what it is!
Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa is based on Hallmark movie and is a sweet, clean romance that I enjoyed.
Lisa Palmer and Kevin Miller both have wonderful memories of Evergreen, Vermont, a “real life Santa village”. Those memories bring them both back to town and fate brings them together to resurrect Daisy’s Country store, the site of many of their favorite memories.
Working together and with other residents, they help Evergreen celebrate Christmas like they used to and help everyone remember that “keeping family and friends close is the greatest Evergreen tradition of them all.”
Nancy Naigle’s descriptive prose paints a vivid picture of the town, all the Christmas finery, and the magic of the holiday – the lights, trees, Christmas bells and a white-bearded resident with a twinkle in his eye named…..Nick.
I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book definitely made it feel like Christmas in July!!! I needed a light and great read! Will recommend to anyone that wants to enjoy the holidays early.
Each year I find fun and comfort in Hallmark movies. Yes, I know I am not the norm and I stand by that. We now tend to celebrate Christmas in July, and I could not help but jump at the opportunity to read Christmas in Evergreen, Letters to Santa by Nancy Naigle.
The start of the book fore-warns, letting us know this is based on the Hallmark movie of the same name.
I can say, this is as close to that story as possible, and it is a great read. This fun, loving, and perfect story not only shares what the season is about, but also tells of people who are passionate about each other while remembering and retaining their history and memories of their small town.
There are a number of storylines in this book, and they each are unique. In the end, the smile on your face will definitely remind you of the reason for the season and will also fill you with warmth and joy…even in July. Great Job Nancy Naigle and well work all the congrats!
Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa deserves nothing less than 5 Stars! From the first page, you just hear the tune “Christmas time is here…”, such an amazing story. Our heroine of the tale, Lisa travels back to her childhood home of Evergreen and there she runs into some old familiar faces. She also learns that the quaint, general store has closed. So, she decides to restore the store to its former glory as she reminisces on its former owner and recalls herself as a child there in that store. She convinces Kevin, a local contractor to help her restore the store and in so doing they find a Letter to Santa that never got to the North Pole. They wondered who that letter was from and began questioning the town about Letters to Santa and learned the old store used to have a little red mailbox where kids could write a letter and put it in that mailbox to be mailed to the North Pole. Will Kevin and Lisa learn who the author of that letter was? More importantly, will they open up to the magic of Christmas within themselves and allow their hearts to melt?
Truly an amazing story of such magic and the joy a child has writing to Santa and just how that can impact and change one’s life. I just loved this book so much and both Lisa and Kevin’s stories just touched my heart. If you’re looking for a magical book to read the Christmas Season, then Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa by Nancy Naigle is the book for you!
I really enjoyed this sweet, small town, Christmas story. As I read this book it was like the story played in my head just like I was watching it on tv. This is not my normal kind of read, but I love Hallmark Channel movies so I thought I’d give it a try and I am so glad that I did. I really enjoyed all the feels that this book gave me. This story is such a heartwarming story that put me in the Christmas spirit in July. lol. I am so looking forward to watching this on the Hallmark Channel this Friday just to see it play out on the screen.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
I love this series (both the books and the movies). Its always fun to see what is going on in Evergreen at Christmas.
Letters to Santa (Christmas In Evergreen #2) was a great read by Nancy Naigle. Lisa decides to take a last-minute trip to her hometown of Evergreen for Christmas. On that trip she finds out that the general store has closed. She is a professional retail designer and decides to bring the store back to its former glory. A local contractor, Kevin, works with her and they stumble upon many surprises along the way. They find a mysterious 25 year old letter to Santa, a tradition when they were children. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more by the author.
This is the second book in the Christmas in Evergreen series I’ve read. I’ll be looking for more. It’s small-town USA where everyone knows you and your business. The characters are true to life. You feel like you are right there in the town. If you love this kind of story, you’ll love this one.
If you love Christmas and decorating for the holiday as much as I do, this book will awe and inspire you with it’s sweet romance with loads of small town Christmas charm and you’ll be in holiday heaven! I read an early copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
A great follow-up to the novel Christmas in Evergreen. A sweet, feel-good story that will leave you with a smile on your face. A perfect story to show what grit and determination can help you achieve.
An easy read that is perfect for several generations of the family to share.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher, Hallmark Publishing, through NetGalley. Any and all opinions expressed in the above review are entirely my own.
Christmas is my favourite time of year and I love reading Christmas stories and this book did not disappoint, it ticked all my boxes and I’m certain that if you love Christmas you will love this book.
Christmas In Evergreen: Letters to Santa is a sweet entertaining romance that will leave you wanting to spend Christmas in Evergreen, it’s a book with all the feels, wonderful characters and a great story all help to leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. This author really has a way with painting pictures with words and she made me really feel the spirt of Christmas even though it’s only July….
Sweet story to read, I like Hallmark movies, so this book is based on a movie, I must say I haven’t been able to watch the movie yet, but the story is about bringing couples together and having them redeem and heal their past. Great holiday read for this Christmas, a nice HEA for everyone.
I’m a bit opposite when it comes to reading and movies. I like my books a bit on the darker side and my movies lighter. I binge on the Hallmark Channel several times a year. There’s the Valentine’s Day season, June Wedding season, Christmas in July season, Fall Season, and the Christmas season. It’s pretty much all year but you get my point.
This book is based on one of the Hallmark Christmas movies. I haven’t seen the movie yet but this book really makes me want to. It’s everything that is swoony and romantic that I love in the lighter stuff.
This is the first time I’ve ever read a book that was a movie on the Hallmark Channel. After this I think I might have to do it more often. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to see the movie now.
A Good heartwarming story! While visiting her home town Lisa decides to help restore the old store so someone might buy it and re open. while doing so she finds an old letter addressed to Santa.
The romance between he rand Kevin, gradually starts and the mystery throughout of who worte the letter and trying to make the wish come true goes throughout the story. Very well written reminds me of the old fashion christmases. made you want to keep reading! well done.
Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa is the perfect book to take you on a journey away from the overwhelming heat of summer. It is a sweet, small town romance that evokes the spirit and memories of the holiday.
Lisa and Kevin are both back in Evergreen for Christmas. It becomes their mission to fix up the old general store so someone will see the beauty and buy that baby up. Along the way the towns folk come together to help with this.
Lisa and Kevin had a cute connection right from the start, but it was the side characters that helped add a richness to this tale.
This book is exactly what it promises… a Hallmark movie on the pages of a book. An easy, sweet tale that reminds you of all the good in life.
P.S. you should also make sure to check out the movie!

As I write this review, it’s summer here in the Midwest and the temperatures are in the 80’s each day. However, I have been reading a sweet book that has me listening to Christmas music a few months early. Nancy Naigle has written another beautiful Christmas story that has me thinking all things Christmas.
I love the community of Evergreen and was glad to be able to return there again via this story. Kevin and Lisa have each separately returned to the little town of Evergreen for the holidays-Kevin to spend time with his dad; Lisa to visit the town for the first time since she was a child. Circumstances keep throwing them together, but it’s when they come together as a team to refurbish a beloved store on Main Street in Evergreen. As the people of the town join in to help restore some well-loved Christmas traditions, Kevin and Lisa must decide if their future is together in a Evergreen. I liked both these characters and couldn’t help but hope they would find their happily-ever-after together. The ending of the book seems to open the door for some summer weddings in Evergreen, and I’d love to read a sequel about that.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
4.5 Stars
I loved the movie so I knew I had to read the book. I loved it just as much. Plus it’s written by Nancy Naigle who I’m a big fan of. I really liked revisiting Evergreen. The small town at Christmas is a beautiful setting. I could just picture it so easily in my mind. It makes me wish I could go visit there. I truly loved the characters a lot. They drew me right into the book. This is a truly make you feel good, get you into the holiday spirit book. If you’re a fan of the movie you going to just love the the epilogue. It was awesome to see a little bit into the future and see the characters enjoying life. Also you can’t go wrong with a book that includes a recipe, Incredible Apple Dumplings. I will definitely be trying out that recipe.
This was a terrific read! I loved the descriptions that brought everything to life in my mind. I could picture the characters and places of Evergreen; it made me wish I could find a real town just like Evergreen to spend a Christmas there. The story is heartwarming and G rated. I recommend it for all who like romantic Hallmark movies with a tiny bit of angst but a definite happy ending.
I voluntarily read an advanced review copy provided by Hallmark Publishing and I offer my honest opinion in response.
