This was another beautiful Christmas romance story from Nancy. I fell in love with the characters straight away, and the story was so good! The heroine is going to move away from her small town to a big city job. The hero is “fleeing” the traditional Christmas holiday by taking his young daughter with him for a Florida holiday. Snow storm happens and things change for everyone. If you love Christmas romance stories then you will love this book.
Great book! I love happily-ever-afters. Likable characters and well-written. An enjoyable book- especially during the holidays!
Sweet story, loved the town, the people, a beautiful story to get you into the Christmas spirit!
Snowy Vermont weather and a snow globe sprinkle some magic into the holiday season for a father, his daughter and a delightful town resident with a big heart and an undependable truck. This festive small town story has welcoming residents, holiday baking, winter activities and lots of enchantment.
I really enjoyed this sweet, small town, Christmas story. As I read this book it was like the story played in my head just like I was watching it on tv. This is not my normal kind of read, but I love Hallmark Channel movies so I thought I’d give it a try and I am so glad that I did. I really enjoyed all the feels that this book gave me. This story is such a heartwarming story that put me in the Christmas spirit in July. lol. I am so looking forward to watching this on the Hallmark Channel this Friday just to see it play out on the screen.
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
Christmas In Evergreen was a sweet, feel-good, wish-you-were-really-there, magical Christmas story.
I loved this book!
Nancy Naigle was a perfect choice to write this story. Her writing was superb, and once I got started, I couldn’t put it down.
Christmas In Evergreen is about Allie the Veterinarian, who’s in the process of selling off her practice to move to Washington DC, where she has a job waiting for her at a big city clinic. Though she’s a bit terrified, she has it in her head, that she needs to get out in the world and see if that’s where she belongs.
Ryan and Zoe are on their way to Florida to spend Christmas on a cruise. Widowed father Ryan is trying to get away from the memories of last Christmas and thinks a cruise is just what him and his daughter need.
On their way to the airport they decide to stop off for something to eat in Evergreen.
It’s there on Main Street where Ryan And Zoe meet Allie. Which is just the beginning.
Between snowstorms that cancel flights, an old truck that won’t start, a cow in labor, and a little snow globe magic, things are changing for all this Christmas.
Whether you read this during the Summer or wait till Christmas time, I think you’ll truly enjoy this story.
I highly recommend this book.

This was my second book by Nancy Naigle. After reading one of her stories, I knew she would be added to my favorite authors listing.
Christmas in Evergreen is a lovely, wholesome, romance story. I enjoyed it for a light read with a good plot that did not have the customary disagreement/drama. I understand that is the normal plot line of a romance story. To have “the meeting”, “the attraction”, “the drama/disagreement” and then “the resolution”. It was refreshing to have a difference from the norm.
The basis of the story line of this book is that the grass is not always greener. Sometimes the grass, where you are living is perfectly green enough.
Allie had the thought ingrained in her from her beloved grandfather that she needed to explore other areas and not stay a small town woman in Evergreen, all her life.
When the opportunity arose to take a job in a large city, she took it, then before moving was having second thoughts. Added to that was the long distance relationship Allie was having with Spencer. She did not know if this relationship was her “meant to be” for the future.
Meanwhile Ryan is trying to ease the pain of losing his wife a year ago before Christmas and shield his daughter Zoe from more hurt. He has the best intentions, but unfortunately a bad plan to spend this Christmas away from all things “Christmasy”. Zoe makes a wish on the snow globe when a snow storm keeps them in Evergreen instead of on a plane to Florida. The snow globe sees into Zoe’s heart and works magic to make her heart-wish come true.
This book was made into a Hallmark movie. I did not see the movie yet. The entire time I was reading, I could picture what the movie would be like and I look forward to seeing it.
I recommend this book for all those that enjoy a wholesome romantic book without the silly drama/disagreement and sex scenes.
I want to thank NetGalley.com and Hallmark Publishing for the opportunity to read this wonderful Christmas story. I totally enjoyed my time in Evergreen, Vermont and hope my review helps other find this gem.
A sweet, clean Christmas romance in a small close knit town whose residents love Christmas. One planning to move away, one visiting, and man trying to ignore Christmas. This story shows that joy can be about simple things, and sharing with good people is the best. (I received an advanced copy of this book. This review is completely my own opinion.)
A sweet love story that makes you believe in the magic of Christmas!
I wasn’t too sure when I started this book since it is based on a Hallmark Holiday movie, one which I did see when it aired last year, but knowing that Nancy Naigle was authoring this book I knew there was a good chance that the book was once again going to be better than the movie…and Nancy Naigle delivered a sweet holiday romance that, while following the movie, was such a wonderful read and, dare I say, not quite as cheesy as the movie itself.
The characters were real, the plot was rich enough to keep me engaged, and as I expected, the writing was truly wonderful. The quirky town of Evergreen, with its tradition steeped in Christmas and its townspeople as colorful as any small town, was a wonderful backdrop to not only a love story, but also to some wonderful small-town community interactions and fun. There was just enough Christmas magic sprinkled in – by way of a magic snow globe and a Santa who’s name just happened to be Nick – to make you believe.
If you love Hallmark Holiday movies or just need a nice, sweet romance that will leave you smiling, this is the perfect book to help you celebrate Christmas in July – or any time of year!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book I received from NetGalley.
If you believe in the magic of Christmas, then Christmas in a Evergreen Vermont is where you need to go! Allie Shaw has grown up and lived her entire life in Evergreen. Everything she knows and loves is there including her veterinary practice., but she has decided to move to Washington DC to experience something new. Her boyfriend Spencer lives there and is really looking forward to Allie’s move. Ryan Bellamy and his daughter Zoe are going to Florida for Christmas but due to weather issues end up in Evergreen. The weather continually seems to change everyone’s direction and plans for Christmas. There is also a magic snow globe and a man named Nick that figures prominently too.
A wonderful well written story of hope, wishes and love. The characters and town will transport you to place you never want to leave. Nancy Naigle has masterfully written a story that will leave you wanting more and so happy that you took the time to visit Evergreen Vermont.
I love Christmas stories but this is clearly one of my favorites that I know I will read over and over again. Amazing story and characters you can’t help but fall in love with.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
What a delightful story. It is full with such Christmas love and joy. The wonder of the season is ingrained throughout. I loved reading it. I now have to watch the movie!!!!! I want to move to Evergreen.
A sweet and heartwarming story. I absolutely loved the town. You will fall in love with the characters as it pulls at your heartstrings. A great storyline with all the feels. I enjoyed the connection and chemistry between the characters. It’s an entertaining story. I love the magic of Christmas.
I love this amazing, feel good, small town Christmas romance. A small town vet with an old red pickup truck preparing to move to DC, a widower with a darling daughter passing through town, a mysterious snow globe and Christmas – what’s not to like. Well written, believable characters in this tale of stopping to figure out what your heart really wants. I enjoyed this book and hated to reach the end.
The town of Evergreen is the place to go to celebrate Christmas. The residence and businesses go all out to celebrate Jolly Old Saint Nick. They even have a “magical snow globe” that showed up one day at the Chris Kringle Kitchen. It arrived with a sign that says “Shake the snow globe and make a wish, but only if you know what your heart really wants”.
A sweet read about Christmas, falling in love and learning what your heart truly desires. I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Christmas in Evergreen was a light, fun, feel good read. If you love Hallmark movies you will love reading this book. The characters come to life on the pages. Nancy Naigle tells a wonderful story with a happy ending.
Great heart warming Christmas story. Ryan lost his wife a year ago, right before Christmas. He thought he’d make it easier on his daughter by taking a cruise at Christmas to try to hold the sad memories away. Allie is leaving Evergreen & her vet practice to move to Washington & a place in a larger practice. The weather is making it impossible for them to catch their flights. Or does Zoe’s wish on the magical snow globe have anything to do with it?
This book was written after the Hallmark movie was made so fans of the movie could revisit it whenever they want. It reminds the reader of the Christmas season & the wonder of it all. Coupled with a good romance & several memorable characters, this was an enjoyable read.
I freely admit, I downloaded Nancy Naigle’s latest, Christmas in Evergreen purely for the cover. I love, love that red truck. I also, loved, loved the Hallmark movie last Christmas. Naigle easily captures the fun, warmhearted feeling of the movie within the pages of the novel. Who says the books and the movies can’t be better?
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
Christmas in Evergreen is a delightful and enjoyable Christmas story by Nancy Naigle, the queen of holiday stories. Reading this book gives you a taste of Christmas in July. This is a book based on a Hallmark Holiday Movie by the same name.
We have the heroine, Allie, a veterinarian, leaving her home town of Evergreen, the town that loves Christmas, for a new job closer to her long distance, her on again, off again boyfriend. The closer the time comes for her to move, the more Allie second guesses her decision, at least subconsciously, delaying her trip.
The hero is a single day who only wants his daughter to have a very merry Christmas. After losing his wife and Zoe losing her mother, physician Ryan plans on staying as far away from the snow and memories. Therefore, he planned for them to go on a cruise in Florida. However, when a snow storm grounds their plane they make a small detour to Evergreen which turns into an extended stay and Ryan and Zoe are bombarded with the Christmas spirit along with a lovely lady to go with it.
From the first time these three meet there is an unmistakable connection. While Ryan and Zoe are temporarily in Evergreen, the magic of the town and people greatly affects them. Each one these three separately make wishes on a magical snow globe, the connection of their wishes demonstrates how fate and the heart often understand and know what one needs well before they realize.
Ms. Naigle wrote a wonderfully heartwarming story that reflects the magic of Christmas and finding love. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley.
I love reading Christmas romance stories. Nancy Naigle is one of my “go-to” authors for Christmas romance. Once again she has managed to tell a sweet tale of characters meeting and falling in love. She also has child characters who are just adorable. Meeting and getting to know Allie Shaw and Ryan Bellamy and his daughter Zoe was fun. Nancy Naigle even added a little extra magic in this story with a “magical” snow globe in the Chris Kringle Kitchen diner. Traditionally if you make a wish and “Know What Your Heart Really Wants” your wish will come true. Seeing some wishes come true in this book was one of the best parts of the story.

My Thoughts:
This is another well written holiday tale from Hallmark. I saw the movie when it debuted last year and was absolutely thrilled when the book became available at NetGalley.
Sweet, clean family oriented romance with just enough angst to make them interesting is what Hallmark books and movies for that matter are about.
I loved the characters, Zoe in particular makes this story an absolute delight.
I enjoyed reading this book which is being published almost a full year after the movie first aired. As I read I could picture the scenes in the movie although it has been almost a year since I had first seen it.
I gave this book 4.75 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization. There is no sensual rating in this “G” rated book meant for family consumption.
I received a complimentary digital copy of this book from the publisher’s via Netgalley to read.
This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
