Hannah and Tom will have you pulled in right from the start. They take you from one intense situation to the next, trying to figure out who is trying to hurt her. From one emotion to the next and a few unexpected twist that will have your head spinning. Amazing read that will pull at your heart break it a little bit and slowly put it back together again. Can’t wait to read the next.
Christmas Hostage was full of all the suspense, twist and turns that kept me guessing from the very beginning. I literally sat on the edge of my seat reading because I needed to know what would happen next! This was a “new to me” author but now I’m hooked! Looking forward to diving into book two!
Wow Wow Wow… what a great start to this series. Jane Blythe is a new to me author that has gone to the top of my must read list. So many twist and turns I can not wait to see what she has in store for us next.
Wow! This was awesome! It was action and suspense from start to finish. Couldn’t put my kindle down.
A new author for me and going to dive straight into book 2
This is the 1st book in a new series, and is Hannah and Tom’s story. When Hannah has an armed robbery at her story, the last things she expects is for her ex husband, FBI agent, Tom to appear. This is a well written story which is filled with drama, mystery, and suspense, which leads to an intense 2nd chance romance suspense story. I was hooked and intrigued throughout and recommend for all.
Great Romantic Suspense!
This is the first book of Jane Blythe’s that I have read, and she came highly recommended to me by some great book friends. They were right. The books are fantastic, and if themes of sexual assault don’t phase you too much, you are in for a great read insofar that Ms Blythe has done credit to the characters of Tom and Hannah within the boundaries of a twisted story.
I have to admit that the book stayed with me even when I was forced to put it aside to carry out the duties of daily life and I can’t even imagine the extent of the trauma that they would have gone through. But, it wasn’t overly onerous, it was absolutely tragic and provided the background to the current story as much as any episode of my favourite Law & Order: SVU program does.
For me, this book has successfully paired together the elements of suspense and romance, topped off with the messages of strength, healing and second chance love that I absolutely adore in the books that I read.
We are also introduced to some strong secondary characters that will make up the other two standalone books within this series, and I’ve already gone straight into the second one. I’m only here to write this 5 Star review!!!
Wow! This book was insane! So full of suspense and angst. It was action packed from the very beginning. I never knew what was going to happen page to page. This was my forst book by this author but it won’t be my last
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
He walked away because he thought it was what she wanted. FBI agent Tom Drake has been investigating a string of armed robberies at jewelry stores. The last person he expects to see when he arrives at the scene of the latest robbery is his ex-wife Hannah Buffy. Seeing her again reminds him of everything he lost when they divorced, and the only way he’s going to survive being around her again is to keep reminding himself this is just another job.
She let him walk way because she thought it was what was best for him. Hannah is conflicted about seeing her ex-husband again, especially when he starts claiming he things the robbery at her store isn’t related to the other ones. Is this just another excuse for Tom to treat her life a victim or could he be right?
This is the story of Hannah and Tom who seemed to have it all until they didn’t. One night of living nightmares broke them. Tom was forced to watch some horrible things happen to Hannah and there was nothing that he could do to stop it. Anyway he looks at it, though his FBI lenses or his husband lenses he failed her and there is just no getting over that fact for him. Hannah has to heal after that night and it has been a real struggle as you can imagine. Now that her store has been robbed she and Tom are seeing each other again. Is her robbery one in a string or robberies the FBI are trying to sole or is this something more personal? He thinks there is more to it and she feels like her is trying to make her feel weak and helpless and undo all the serious work she has done on herself. Could he be one the right track or are their unresolved feelings be clouding his judgement? You have to read to find out. This is a good second chance romance that will keep you guessing. This is a dark story so you need to heed the warnings in the front of the book if you have triggers to some of the things that are happening in this book.
Great Second Chance Love Story!
This is a really great second chance love story with lots of suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat with anticipation of what would happen next. The characters were all fantastic and well written and the storyline was suspenseful and heartbreaking at the same time.
This is a new author to me and I can’t wait to read more of her books. Well done.
Wow I really loved this book from the start. This is my first book from this author and i was gripped to the story line. I love how she takes a horrible situation and makes it right between the characters. If your looking for a Christmas read this is the book to have.
Wow, this is my first book by jane Blythe, I’ve picked a brilliant one to start with, I love a second chance romance and this one was no exception. It makes me all warm and gooey when I read a second chance.
This is book 1 of the series and I cant wait to read the rest.
Go read it, you wont be sorry.
This was a new to me author and one I can’t wait to read more from.
What a fantastic way to start off a trilogy. Every time I thought I had figured it out there was another plot twist.
Diving into book 2 now and can’t wait.
Loved this book! It had the absolute perfect combination of romance, suspense and intrigue and it kept me engaged the entire time. Tom and Hannah share a past with a tremendous amount of obstacles but when they are back in each other’s orbits the life that should of had flashes in there minds again.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book
This was a good read. Both Hannah and Tom had a traumatic situation that caused them to lose each other but now they are back together dealing with the fallout. That story line gutted me. I felt for both of them and were rooting for their HEA. This was a short read but there were parts that were slow and repetitive.
This is typically not my genre but I wanted to try something different and what I got was so unexpectedly good! This was not boring, it was suspenseful and nail biting at times. I loved that Tom and Hannah was give a second chance at love when the answer was always in front of them. A great storyline and enough heat level to make for an enjoyable read. On to the next book this series.
This is the first book that I have read from Jane. Wow what a storyline. This book is full of suspense, twists, turns and touching moments. I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end. The characters are easy to relate to and you can easily feel what they are going through as you read the story.
Hannah goes through something that no person should ever go through in their life. Her now ex-husband Tom watched the whole thing happen to her. Now she is dealing with another incident that she shouldn’t have to deal with. Her store has been robbed and she doesn’t understand why. Tom is the detective that is working the case to see who did it. This brings these two back together. Will it help them or hurt them more? Will Hannah be able to survive this or will it be to much of a reminder of her past? Who is the person that is really out to get her? What a twist once you figure out who the person is. I was thrown for a loop. So very well written full of suspense downright enjoyable. I cant wait to read the other two in this series.
Wow! What a book! This is is the first time that ive read a jane blythe book and it was amazing.
It centers around an FBI agent called tom and his ex wife Hannah. The subject matter is dark and emtional.
You get everything from this book. Susoense, angst, drama and love. You can feel every emotion that the characters feel. It also has a happy ending and Hannah is strong and survivor by the end of the book.
I highly recommend you read this book
Do you ever read a book and think “damn that would make an awesome movie?” That’s exactly what I thought after finishing this book! Action packed, twists, turns, tragedy, life changing events, reconnections, love, crazy OMG moments… it literally has everything and more! Plus it’s Christmas! Tom and Hannah endure a horrible event that sets in motion a story that you won’t be able to put down.
4 1/2 stars
Special Agent Tom Drake and Hannah Buffy were once together but now no more until a new tragedy hits Hannah that turns her world upside down again.
The two lead characters are a great couple with amazing chemistry, they go together like ‘carrots and peas’ yet through the trauma of their past they found it incredibly difficult to overcome a lot of issues. I have to admit at times I wanted to knock their heads together and say, “Wake up to yourselves!” I think this is a good sign, a sign the author gets the reader so enmeshed in the story that you really feel things at heart. You certainly do go through a gambit of emotions with the characters as the story evolves.
The mystery of who is behind the robbery of Hannah’s store is a puzzle that keeps you guessing as well as on the edge of your seat! Very cleverly there are quite a few red herrings and you, as well as the FBI agents, think or hope some of the puzzle pieces will start to fit together then find they don’t! That’s why I gave it the extra half a star!
It’s a fantastic mystery and second chance at love story that I gladly recommend to everyone.
I enjoyed this second chance romance. Tom and Hannah’s story offers up lenty of angst, heartache and drama. It was impossible not to feel for these two or to not be rooting for them to get that HEA this time. The addition of danger, action, suspense and deep emotions make this a book that is far from the typical holiday themed read.
