Sammie needed a ride Braden needed Sammie to find Mitch. Braden gets a call that his Grandfather is dying. He hasn’t seen his family in years but he did love his Grandfather and didn’t want to disappoint him. He talked Sammie into going with him posing as his daughter.
Ms. Ayala weaves another wonderful story.
Christmas Con is about family, relationships and love. As I read, “Oh what tangled webs we weave . . .” came to mind. Sammie and Braden rush to Poppy’s for what may well be his last Christmas. Despite the con, this is Sammie’s best ever Christmas. I love how Sammie left a message for Poppy. Despite the shenanigans, lies and misdirects, this well written book is an inspiring tale of family, relationships and love.. Ms. Ayala has written a brilliant ending.
This Christmas romance by Rachelle Ayala is absolutely delightful. The story takes the reader from happy to sad, and from naughty to nice. It is as much about relationships and family as it is about the holiday itself. I was really sorry to see it come to an end.
We meet our heroine, Samantha Reed, as she is released from prison. She joins up with Braden Powers, who unknown to her has also recently been freed and has a connection with the man Sammie had been working with when she was arrested. When Braden receives a surprise call to go home for Christmas, she agrees to tag along as his daughter.
There is just enough heat in this story to make you tingle from time to time, but not so much as to be raunchy. Can both Sammie and Braden mend their ways and truly be accepted by their families? It is fun to see them struggle to maintain the father-daughter façade for Braden’s family and learn how she reveals her true identity to his grandfather.
I was provided with an advance copy of Christmas Con by the author with no guarantee of a positive review. It is my pleasure to heartily recommend reading this book to anyone looking for a fun Christmas story.
This is a fun and flirty holiday story. Samantha Reed has been in prison for three years for something she did but didn’t do. (Let’s just say her actions got her in a lot of trouble.) She didn’t have any visitors or calls while in jail and now it is almost Christmas, she has nowhere to go and alone. She calls the man she went to prison for because he owes her and gets a strange voice. The man that picks her up is hunky and definitely not Mitch.
Braden has his secrets and now he is out and trying to get Mitch when he gets a call from his stepmom telling him his Grandfather is dying and wants him home for Christmas so this can be his best Christmas ever. He isn’t about to let Sammie go so he talks her into going and pretending to be his daughter. Saying things backfire is putting it pretty mildly.
There is a lot going on, some sweet, some sexy, and a touch of danger suspense involved. I would have liked to have known more of Braden’s story since I never figured out where he was or what he had done so bad (and good that had been mentioned). I think if you had read the second Book Santa’s Pet perhaps things may have made more sense. (I am not sure because looks like I missed that one). I also found the part with Sammie (though she is pretending to be sixteen and Fifteen-year-old Will a bit unnecessary and it squicked me out some.) but all in all, this is a very good Holiday book and I highly recommend it.
