Christmas Charms by Teri Wilson is a delightful read, with wonderful characters, and a sense of family and community, and a gorgeous winter setting. The plot was engaging, well-paced, and kept me interested until the end. This book is so much more than a second chance romance – it’s about finding yourself again and following your heart. I highly recommend it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a wonderful Christmas story, I loved it from start to end. Imagine if we could get an antique charm bracelet with charms that represent all our wishes for a dream Christmas….and they all come true, one by one?! The words Christmas and Magical go together so well and in this story you will feel your heart fill with both.
Put together a small village with tons of Christmas traditions, a magical charm bracelet, a golden retriever named Fruitcake and add Ashley who had left her hometown for the big city and is now back for the holidays and Aidan, her high school sweetheart that she had left broken hearted and is now a firefighter, and you get this warm hearted and fun Christmas story.
I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Ashley had plans with her boyfriend, Jeremy, to go to Paris for Christmas. When he doesn’t propose and says people like them don’t get married, she breaks up with him. She decides to surprise her parents in Owl Lake. On the train, she befriended by Betty. When she wakes up, Betty is gone, but she left her charm bracelet in a stocking for Ashley. This is another wonderful Christmas story about reconnecting with friends and family, second chances, and deciding what’s most important. No spoilers, so grab your copy and see what each charm means and who Ashley will end up with.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a magical, romantic Christmas story set in the picturesque, small town of Owl Lake in Upstate New York and it started off in Manhattan. The book will fill you with the Christmas spirit and hope as Ashley finds a magical, vintage charm bracelet in a handknit, red stocking from Betty, her train acquaintance.
It was such fun to find and to hear the tinkle sound as each of the charms came to life. I also enjoyed the community spirit of the small town with all of their cute Christmas activities and how everyone knew everyone. The importance of family as Ashley had not been home for Christmas in a long time was another theme that I enjoyed in this book.
This is one of the best Christmas books I have read from the characters, to Owl Lake, to the fun activities, to the magic of the charm bracelet, and to Ashley catching up with her high school sweetheart, Aiden who is now working at the same fire station that her dad retired from awhile ago, and of course to Fruitcake, the golden retriever. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
A sweet, magical holiday romance full of warmth, second chances and all the heart you’d expect from a Christmas romance! Perfect if you love a good Hallmark movie or just a second chance romance with charm and a little touch of magic that weaves a spell of new beginnings and the possibilities of having everything you ever wished for!
I reviewed an advanced copy of this book as a part of the review team.
This was the sweetest story and I can’t usually get through an entire full-length book in 2 days, but this one was so good, I just didn’t want to put it down.
Ashley left her hometown of Owl Lake almost 8 years ago to follow her dreams – or so she thought. With the help of a little Christmas magic, Ashley realizes that her dreams aren’t as complicated as her mind has made them out to be.
After reading the author’s bio, I realized that I have seen many of her books turned into Christmas specials on Hallmark. I can definitely see this story being made into a film version before too long.
Christmas Charms is an example of Hallmark at its finest! All the wonderful swoon-worthy moments I have come to expect in a Hallmark Holiday wrapped up neatly in a delightfully sweet, small-town romance. Ashley is on a fast track in the big city, which leaves no time for her life back home. Until a momentary wake-up call and a little Christmas magic convince her to fight for the Christmas of her dreams. I love the charm bracelet concept and smiled every time I heard the jingle, jingle. Fruitcake all but steals the show and adds a wonderful companion in addition to all the other delightful characters. I smiled, laughed out loud and sighed in satisfaction throughout this entire book. Highly recommended for all Hallmark Christmas romance and magic fans.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own and freely given.
Christmas Magic
What a sweet Christmas story, I loved it. This romance tale will definitely get you in the spirit of Christmas. I love small town second chance romances and this checks all the boxes for me. How can you not adore a dog named Fruitcake and a magical charm bracelet?
Ashley left her small town and her love for Aiden to pursue what she believed was her dream. Only coming home for the holidays at Christmas did she become to realize that all those hopes and dreams she strived for were staring her in the face the whole time. I am a softie when it comes to second chance romances and Ashley and Aiden did not disappoint. This is such a good feel story I could not put it down once I started it. I had a smile on my face when I finally did!!!
What an incredibly sweet and heartwarming novel. With all the feels of a Hallmark movie and It’s A Wonderful Life you’ll be drawn in by the Christmas miracles that keep on coming throughout this adorable book.
Ashley James has a job at a high end jewelry store and typically works every holiday but this year her boyfriend Jeremy is taking her to Paris for Christmas and she’s certain this is going to be the Christmas of her dreams. Only things don’t turn out like she expected and now she’s headed home to Owl Lake instead. Things go from sad to strange when Ashley meets a woman on her train that reminds her of Mrs. Claus and even stranger when she wakes up at her stop alone with an unusual charm bracelet on ber wrist that she can’t remove.
Aidan Flynn has lived his entire life in Owl Lake but he never really got over watching his high school sweetheart leave after graduation. Now a local firefighter he keeps himself busy with work and local charity work. The last thing he expected after eight years was to see Ashley back in town.
I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.
This story is written very much in the style of Hallmark. If like me you are “addicted” the their movies, this book one is just the one for you. Plus , a good one to get you in the Christmas spirit.
Ashley James thought everything was going to be perfect this Christmas . But when things come crumbling down, she takes a train to her hometown o Owl Lake. Little did she know that ride , filled with magic and a lovely charm bracelet, would change her life forever as each charm becomes a reality.
Add to that meeting up with her HS sweetheart, now firefighter Aidan, and you are sure to have a feel good story.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Hallmark Publishing.
Pure Christmas delight full of magic and sweet romance!
What a “charming” Christmas read. I loved this storyline so much. The charm bracelet with such meaningful charms is so very special. I liked that the heroine Ashley James couldn’t make the magic work by forcing events. It had to happen on its own. This second chance romance is such a sweet, heartwarming story. Ashley and Aiden are made for each other. There’s a lot of Christmas spirit in this story. Just the way I like my Christmas romance stories to be.
Christmas Charms

Rating: 4/5
Such a cute story for the holidays! It definitely reads like a Hallmark movie and I would love to watch the movie too. I loved walking through Ashley and Aidan’s stories and was eager to get to the ending. I loved the sweet, magical, Christmas moments with the charms on the bracelet and wished I could be there.
Highly recommend this story for those who enjoy romance, humor, and Christmas magic!
My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.
Ashley thinks she’s about to have the Christmas of her dreams–Paris, engagement, new promotion–but it all falls apart at the last minute. A trip home to spend the holidays with her parents seems the best way to soothe her soul. A chance meeting on the train with a woman who gives her a charm bracelet will change her life.
Once home, Ashley’s life seems to be linked to the bracelet she can’t remove. A dog adopts her, festive cookies, and many more charms, and each must come to fruition on its own–she can’t force a charm to reveal a meaning. Then there’s Aidan, her first love, now a firefighter. They’re forever being thrown together by circumstance and literally falling down; he rescues her on more than one occasion.
As Ashley finds herself involved in her hometown’s Christmas festivities, the magic of Christmas returns to her heart, while the small town joy wars with the career-minded goals of the big city. A recently unearthed childhood video opens Ashley’s eyes to reveal her Christmas wishes in relation to the bracelet. With one foot constantly out the door, Ashley must figure out what she really wants in life, where she wants to live, and if there’s room in her heart for a second chance love… with Aidan.
A magical, enchanting, and heartwarming Christmas story..

Christmas Charms by Teri Wilson is an excellent, festive, heartwarming Christmas romance.
I so loved the plot of the charm bracelet and each charm representing a part of Ashley’s perfect Christmas when she ends up going back home for Christmas to the charming, adorable, and perfect upstate NY town of Owl Lake.
I loved everything about this book: the character cast, the location, the wonderful decorative descriptions, the festivities, and the overall plot. The concept of getting the chance to find out what one truly wants out of life and the second chance romance, especially in a winter holiday setting, is so perfect.
I loved most of all: Ashley and Aidan and the precious Fruitcake! Ashley and Aidan just fit together like pieces in a puzzle. Their chemistry and personalities just fit together, and just belong together. I loved, loved Fruitcake! He was so precious! He added to the wonderful one-liners and witty dialogue.
This is just a perfect holiday romance that I was fortunate to read at just the right time. This could easily be turned into a Hallmark Movie and also part of a series of books. I can just imagine both of those options.
5/5 stars Perfect in every way.
Thank you NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this ARC and in return I am submitting my unbiased and voluntary review and opinion.
This is a well-written, entertaining, contemporary holiday romance novel. It is magical, with a likable female protagonist, an engaging male protagonist, an adorable dog, loving and supportive families and friends, a sweet, second chance romance, and a happily ever after ending. I listened to the audio version of this novel, and the narrator, Ms. Arielle DeLisle, has a lovely voice, and does an excellent job depicting the characters and their personalities.
Christmas Charms by Teri Wilson
Contemporary holiday romance by Harlequin Publishing. Second chance troupe.
When Ashley’s long time boyfriend rolls his eyes on getting married, Ashley breaks up with him and goes home for the Christmas holiday. She is gifted with a magical charm bracelet that seems to match her experiences at home as she reconnects with prior hometown boyfriend and friends.
Sweet, poignant and magical.
Ashley assesses her life, her goals and her perception of her home town. And Aidan is always there. The decorated home, the snowman and snowball fight, the dog, the ice skating, the good friend are all standard Hallmark trademarks. It doesn’t matter. The author does a marvelous job weaving the story with sentiment and that touch of fantasy that makes it a breathtaking romance.
I loved this story.
