Forty-two year old Jenny Beckett is dreading the holidays. Her fiancé has just called off their Christmas wedding, and she’s been evicted from her darling chicken coop cottage. When her estranged father dies and leaves her eight rustic guest cabins on Heron Lake, Jenny seizes the chance to make a new life. She packs up her dogs, her miniature horse and her beat up Airstream trailer and moves to … to the lake.Short on time and money, Jenny and her contractor, widower Luke, work feverishly to renovate the cabins in time for the festive holiday event she’s promised her very first guests. When an unexpected blizzard snows them in and jeopardizes the resort’s opening, Jenny and Luke work to save the event and, along the way, find true love… and the magic of Christmas.

Loved this book.
I read it at every opportunity, enjoying every minute and I enjoyed watching the interaction between the main characters. I enjoy the progress of the project they were involved in, the ups and downs of the project and the results. Great book.
Loved the characters!
simple predictable but easy light read
Fun read, nice characters, and lovely story about healing and personal growth.
Great Christmas story
A fun read…
Cute lighthearted read. No stress
Nice read. Somewhat predictable but enjoyed reading it.
really enjoyed it, would recommend
I loved the characters even though there were times I thought some of them should let go of their emotional baggage. Although in real life people act the same way. I thought it was a great weekend, vacation, bad weather stay at home snuggled in with a blanket kind of book. I never got bored and enjoyed it to the end. Great light read.
I think it could be a Hallmark Movie. A good read about taking what is given to you and taking it to the next level turning her Father’s dream into a reality. A good clean story I really liked this book. I want to read the one’s to follow.
I really enjoyed this book book. It will leave you with a cozy Christmas feeling and make you want to rent one of those cabins.Poor Jenny had been dumped by her fiancé before they could plan their Christmas wedding and now that Christmas is coming, she is not in the best of moods. Now she, her two dogs and miniature pony are being kicked out of her chicken coop apartment by her evil landlord with less than a months notice. Then she gets news her “not there” father has died. He left her a house and some debts but he also left her a clear deed to lakefront property on an exclusive lake with partially 8 built cabins. She decides to give up her tutoring business and try to make the cabins into a business. She hires a hunky contractor, Luke, and his sister to finish the work but they don’t have much time because she wants to be open for the week of Christmas. Her ex won’t leave her alone and as much as she tries not to, she is falling for Luke. Will they meet the deadline with snooty inspectors and a huge ice and snow storm?
Pleasant, but predictable, this quick holiday read is a way to while away a couple of hours.
I really liked this book. A feel good read.
Loved how a woman who had nothing much was able to build a new and better life while finding her happily ever after.
Written very well. Enjoyed the characters. Look forward to the next one
I liked the plot of a strong female who finds a way to get on with life after a bad break up. Her solution promises a few more books on her adventures as a resort owner and romantic interest.
One of the best books I’ve ever read !!!
I normally read mysteries, but, every once in a while I’ll read a romance. This book was good, a nice story and good characters. It was a quick read and I recommend it. A great beach book!
