A great Christmas read. Loved the characters and the story line. A must read.
Quick read. Reminded me of a Hallmark movie. I thoroughly enjoyed this fun Christmas book.
I enjoyed the book. Can’t wait to read more!
I love books that include animals, campers and romance!
These books are gems just waiting to be discovered. A beautiful read! You’ll want more Jenny stories when you finish one! You’ll find that each book has a well written storyline and well developed characters that make this a very enjoyable read! A+
Christmas at the Lakeside Resort is the first book in the Lakeside Resort series and I can’t wait to read more! Jenny Beckett, a forty-two year old woman has just had her wedding called off by her fiance who has decided he wants to be with someone else. Then she finds out she has to leave the place she’s living because the property has been sold. Will she find a place that will accommodate her and her two dogs and a miniature horse? She finds out that her father, whom she is estranged from, has died and left her waterfront property with eight very rustic cabins. She decides to try and make a go of it and open a resort before Christmas arrives. With help from a contractor and his sister the work begins. I absolutely loved this book! I like that the main character is older. it’s a book about friends, family, determination, and hope. I highly recommend it!
In this story at least the characters had some challenges before reaching the ending that was very predictable.
Makes you want to curl up by the fire & read. Fun, clean romance that reminds us that we can never predict where the future might lead us.
This is a light, enjoyable romance. Actually quite good for the genre, just not my favorite genre.
40+ Jennie is a private tutor and still recovering from a broken engagement when she inherits lake front property from her father. She decides to finish the cabins and ru the Lakeside Resort. Luckily there a wonderful brother/sister team of contractors available to work full-time for the next 6 weeks. There are set backs and challenges, but you know the rest.
Nice, easy to be with characters.
Really liked it
This story felt like a true slice of life, full of unexpected issues requiring quick responses, and events that change directions in life. I enjoyed the main characters, the way the way she jumped into her new situation and grew to reach her goal. This book truly feels like it could happen to…well, you. I am eager to read more about these people.
A great cozy read!
Loved the plot and characters!
Really good story line. Love Debbie Macomber books usually. I mowed through this one as it was so good. Wish for a follow up.
Nice fresh read! Such a realistic storyline. Held my attention and I couldn’t wait to get back to the story!
A fun and whimsical Christmas read. Jenny, unlucky in love, has a negative view of Christmas. Facing sudden eviction with her life in a rut, Jenny takes advantage of a sudden gift from the estate of her mostly absent father Jax. With the help of ha Diane handyman Luke and his sister Alice Jenny is determined to renovate a set of cabin beside the picturesque Lake Heron.
Will the trip get the renovations finished by December 15th? Does Jenny have a head for business? Can she find true happiness
I enjoyed the character development. They were realistic to me and each showed personal growth in both difficult and happy circumstances.
Not your typical story.
Enjoyable
I read the second one first and had to go back and catch up on the first to see how the characters got where they were !! Now I just ordered the third book they are light reading, but so fun. At this time of year ( Christmas) when things are hectic I like to relax with some people I’ve come to know.
