The Christmas they never had. James Cade has one priority: keep the family ranch running smoothly in the wake of his younger brother’s death. With Jesse’s ex, Sofia Gallardo, and her young son, Javi, stranded at Cade Ranch over Christmas, this task just got a lot harder. The longer Sofia and Javi stay, the harder it is to imagine the ranch without them. James couldn’t save his brother from his … from his inner demons, but he can give his nephew a secure future. I really liked it. Very realistic and emotional, it drew me in and kept me til the end.
I loved Christmas at Cade Ranch by Karen Rock. It is an emotional book of hope, redemption, forgiveness and second chances wrapped with love. Karen Rock has weaved a fantastic story in which you can find yourself being swept up in the story. It is a wonderful story with imperfect realistic characters that you find yourself laughing, crying and rooting for throughout the book. Not often do I find a book that I can get so wrapped up in the characters but this one you can.
If you like an uplifting, fun, emotional romance that you just can’t put down then this book is for you.
I was given this book for my honest opinion and review
“Christmas at Cade Ranch” by Karen Rock epitomizes the Harlequin Heartwarming brand. The story of James Cade and Sofia Gallardo will do more than touch your heart. It will have you looking at those who battled an addiction in a new light. And yet this story is also about family – the need to have one of your own and the need to protect the one you have.
Sofia Gallardo is a single mom to five-year-old Javi. She is struggling to survive and before setting off to a fresh start, she agrees to meet Joy Cade, mother to Jesse Cade, Javi’s deceased father. After Sofia’s wallet goes missing, Joy invites Sofia and Javi to Cade Ranch, where Sofia meets James Cade, Jesse’s brother. Though interest and attraction is immediate, Sofia and James are both dealing with guilt over Jesse’s death and what they believe is their part in it.
Sofia also struggles with self-worth. She is more than what people give her credit for. She just has to believe in herself, that she is the one in control of her life, of her happiness.
James is stubborn and set in his ways. He thinks by controlling everything is the best way to live.
Sofia and James learn these things about themselves through each other as they find themselves falling in love.
Ms. Rock has written a relevant story filled with emotions like love, trust, and forgiveness that not only are for us to feel for others, but for ourselves as well.
was hard for me to get started on this one – since I work for Law Enforcement – truly did enjoy the twists and turns and HEA! Can’t wait for the rest of the series!
Christmas at Cade Ranch by Karen Rock is not only an excellent Christmas story, it’s an awesome story any time of the year – period!
It has everything you want in a book – facing hardships head-on with life changing decisions that can affect your whole life, different family dynamics, human chemistry and developing relationships of which most aren’t perfect, love interests and a great story that keeps you wanting to keep reading to the very last page. Reading the last page you are already so anxious to read the next book that it’s hard to have to wait for it come out.
Karen Rock has definitely NOT disappointed my expectations in this book. She shows you that wishes are magic and they do come true! I can’t wait for the next installment in this series.
