A heartwarming Christmas story filled with the magic and miracles of the holiday season by USA Today Bestselling author, Nancy Naigle. Growing up, Liz Westmoreland dreamed of taking over her grandparents inn located in the small mountain town of Antler Creek only for it to be sold before she ever got the chance. While browsing the internet, she stumbles upon a listing for what looks to be the … what looks to be the picturesque inn and it’s set to go to auction. Liz places a bid, and by a miracle, wins the auction. But when she gets there she finds the property in significant disrepair.
When Matt Hardy narrowly lost the inn and property that butted his land, he just hoped it wasn’t another city slicker coming to make matters worse after the previous owners gutted the place for an art gallery. But the minute he recognized the sweet, freckle-faced girl from his childhood and heard her plans to reopen the inn, he jumps at the chance to help his childhood crush restore a place where he made so many fond memories.
While working on repairs, Liz and Matt discover her grandmother’s collection of angels in one of the cabins. When the angels start mysteriously showing up all over the inn, she begins to look at them as reassurance–that restoring the inn is what she’s meant to do. But when an accident leaves Liz feeling like she made a mistake, will Matt–and the residents of Antler Creek–be able to show Liz that she’s found a home? And possibly true love as well?

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is a magical Christmas story. Liz Westmoreland has had a dream since she was a teenager and she has a chance to make it come true. She purchases her grandparents old lodge at auction in as-is condition. An art gallery had gutted the interior and made some unusual design choices that must now be undone. Liz wants to restore Angels Rest to its former glory and carry on the traditions started by her grandparents. Matt Hardy is an architect who lives on the land adjacent to Liz’s. He remembers Liz from when she visited her grandparents as a child. Matt is eager to help Liz with her renovations and get an opportunity to get to know her better. I found Christmas Angels to be well-written with fabulous characters. I found the interactions between Liz and Matt to be delightful. I just loved Maizey who provided good advice and delicious food as well as Krissy, Matt’s sister. Elvis was another great addition with his playful antics, unique grin and wiggling backside. I enjoyed the authors depictions which allowed me to visualize the story. There are tender scenes that just made me smile. There is an opportunity for a second book (hint, hint) featuring Matt’s sister who would like to open a shop in the town and the deputy who caught her eye. Christmas Angels is a heartwarming tale that that will linger with you long after you finish reading it.
A Sweet Clean Nostalgic Christmas Read
A great story of follow your dreams, never let them die.
Liz Westmoreland has always dreamed of running a lodge just like her Pops and Gram did, so when, quite by chance their very lodge came up for auction, she snapped it up, current sight unseen.
While there, she meets up with Matt Hardy who actually remembers her from wbw they were kids. He ends up being her knight in shining armor in getting the old lodge, Angel’s Rest, back in good shape, along with help from the local small town members all pitching in.
There were Angels at work here through the most unexpected ways and it was a joy to read so much goodness in a small town setting spreading love, kindness and good cheer throughout the Holidays, just in time for Christmas.
Liz and Matt’s romance was subtle and slow, it rather took a back seat, but still enjoyable.
I received an advanced reader copy thru Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my own honest thoughts and opinions.

Everyone has a place that says “home” to them, where just thinking about it brings back all those wonderful memories and the feelings it evokes wrap around you like a warm blanket. For me, it’s my aunt and uncle’s place in New England, and for Liz Westmoreland, it’s her grandparents’ old bed and breakfast in the small town of Angel Creek, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. When her grandparents’ lodge comes up for auction, Liz can’t resist bidding on it. When she wins the bid, Liz leaves her job, closes up her home in Charlotte and heads to Angels Rest, only to find the inside of the old lodge gutted and an overwhelming amount of work ahead to return it to its former glory.
The locals are excited about Liz restoring the old lodge and welcome her with open arms. They have fond memories of her grandparents and are excited about the tourists a B&B will bring to the area. None is more willing to pitch in and help Liz than architect Matt Hardy. You see, Matt also has fond memories of the Lodge at Angles Rest, especially of the freckle-faced girl who visited every summer and Christmas break.
Whenever I read a Naigle book I know I’m going to get a heart-warming, inspiring, uplifting story that touches my heart with all kinds of wonderful emotions. Matt and Liz’s story is exactly that, and I adore them together. Add to that the quaint town of Angels Rest and its lively, quirky, endearing characters and I never wanted to leave. I have no doubt that these characters will endear themselves to you, too, and this story is the perfect read to get you in the holiday spirit. Grab your cozy blanket and hot drink, toss another log on the fire, and escape to Angels Rest today!

Christmas Angels is the latest Christmas celebration written by Nancy Naigle. Liz Westmoreland, a very successful Charlotte project manager, has spent her adult life dreaming of owning her grandparents’ inn located in Antler Creek, NC. For relaxation, Liz pages through online ads for BnBs. When she stumbles upon Angel’s Rest, her grandparents’ place, going on auction the following day, Liz gets things is order to be able to bid. And hers is the successful bid.
Her initial foray to Antler Creek to check out the property finds that it is in disrepair and the interior has been gutted. Initially devastated, Liz takes heart in the comments of cafe owner Maizie, and follows her advice to have Matt Hardy inspect the property for her. What Liz learns is that the report is not as bad as she feared and the renovation is doable and it is proposed that it can be done within her budget. Matt takes over as her contractor and the story is set in motion.
You see, Matt remembers Liz from childhood visits with her grandparents and has, perhaps, carried a bit of a torch for her since then. He will see to it that the job gets done right so she will stay in Antler Creek.
This is another delightful tale from Ms. Naigle. So well plotted, so perfectly told, playing out to show hope, joy, and kindnessI only hope this will be a series. There is so much left unsaid and I want to know!! I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!
I loved every minute of this delightful read with characters so beautifully written they jump right off the page and into your heart with a wonderful story set in a friendly Appalachian town you wish you could be a part of. I loved the dynamic and sweet friendship and romance between Liz Westmoreland who moves to Antler Creek when she wins the auction of her Grandparent’s former picturesque inn Angels Rest and Matt Hardy who contracts to help her restore the inn to its former glory. Nancy Naigle put a smile on my face, warmth in my heart and now I’m definitely in the holiday mood and look forward to reading more from this gifted author. “Christmas Angels” would be a perfect as a Hallmark movie. I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased a copy for my keeper library.
Christmas Angels is a beautiful novel that should be read around the holidays. Author Nancy Naigle does amazing writing in the storyline showing entertaining characters. If you read this book, it will bring great enjoyment. I highly recommend reading Christmas Angels.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.
Nancy Naigle knows how to romantically weave a Christmas story of Christmas memories from the past interlaced with new memories from the present with wonderful characters, Angels Rest Inn and a town full of wonderful, kind people wanting to help relive memories from their childhood of Christmas lights and music from the Inn.
I liked Liz Westmoreland and how she tried to make her dream of owning a bed and breakfast a reality. It seemed the angels were really looking out for her throughout this Christmas story. I enjoyed how the town of Antler Creek embraced her and helped her to make her dream come true and that Liz embraced the town and its people right back.
The romance that brewed between Matt Hardy and Liz added to the story. I liked that he had fallen for her a long time ago when they were just children and she was staying with her grandparents at Angels Rest Inn.
This story will leave you smiling and fill your heart with hope after experiencing the kindness that Liz and Antler Creek gave to everyone.. I enjoyed how the angels kept showing up out of nowhere and how they got there. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Sometimes there is a higher power at work in our lives. For Liz, it was always her dream to own Angels Rest, a lodge her grandparents owned. She wanted to re-create all the goods times she had there with her Pops and Grandma. By chance she was on a website and thought she saw it up for sale. She had one day to get everything together to bid on it. Once she won, she was restless to get started. Matt Hardy has moved back to town and was bidding on Angels Rest. He was also going to bring the place back to its former glory. The two of them plus many of the townspeople are on board. It was always about bringing back the community. Enjoying the spirit of Christmas. Falling in love. It was a heartwarming book.
Liz is taking a leap of faith. She finds her grandparents old bed and breakfast up for on-line auction. She buys it…sight unseen. When she asks Matt Hardy to help her renovate and turn it back into its original glory, SPARKS FLY!
Oh…I fell for Matt, hook, line and sinker. He is the sweetest character ever! And he fell for Liz a long time ago. These two are the classic romance characters everyone should experience. Their attraction and the lovely small town of Antler Creek is an absolute joy to read about.
This is your typical, sweet, heartwarming Christmas love story. The small town setting with the small town characters (which I can totally relate to!) really create wonderful Christmas atmosphere.
This is a very heartwarming story. It is about Liz a successful business woman with a dream of opening a inn in a small town where her grandparents previously had an inn. Her memories of Christmases and happy memories of family have her yearning to find a place. When our Grandparents place goes on the market Liz decides to buy it sight unseen. Liz comes to the small town and is heartbroken with all the work required to open the inn. Matt a neighbor and architect steps in to help Liz. Will Liz be able to get this inn open? Can she help bring back the small town? Will Liz fall in love with the town? Will Matt and Liz find love together?
It is no wonder that so many Nancy Naigle books end up as Hallmark movies. Christmas Angels isa another one of her heartwarming Christmas stories. With wonderful characters and that small town welcoming vibe, be sure this book is on your TBR list!
This is a book that will touch your heart and soul. It is beautifully written and holds your attention. Come meet the people of Angels Creek and forget about all your troubles for a while. There has not been many books that made me cry tears of joy, but this one did. I can’t put into words how wonderful this book is and how much I enjoyed reading it. This is a book I will read again and again. I’m going to order a paperback copy as soon as it comes out. Thank you St. Martin’s Press via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own. I highly recommend this heartwarming book.
This was just a nice easy breezy magical Christmas story. I think it could easily be made into a movie as it certainly read like one in my head. I really enjoyed it! It is such a nice, fun heartwarming story that left me feeling so good. Liz and Matt are great characters and so cute together. This was just what the doctor ordered.
Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is a charming, well-written, clean Christmas-themed read that I would truly recommend.
Liz Westmoreland grew up loving Angels Rest, the inn her grandparents owned, and dreamed of taking over someday. Life took her down a different path to a six-figure salary as a project manager launching store openings for fine chains around the world. It is truly serendipity that, while browsing an auction site, she finds Angels Rest up for auction the next day and bids on it, sight unseen, and wins. Liz decides that it’s fate but isn’t prepared for what the inn looks like, as it had been turned into an art gallery and is nothing like she remembered.
Matt Hardy had bid for Angels Rest, which is adjacent to his land, and worries about the new owner’s plans. When he meets Liz, he recognizes her as his childhood crush, and is happy that she has come back to restore the inn. They work together to return the property to its former glory and a budding attraction develops, but both have been burned before and are overly cautious about a new relationship.
When an accident has Liz questioning whether she made the right decision to buy Angels Rest, Matt won’t let her go without a fight. He rallies the town and does all he can to convince Liz she belongs with him at Angels Rest. Liz believes in signs, and you’ll love the way Matt’s dog, Elvis, assists with that!
The story is filled with Christmas spirit that will give you the warm fuzzies, and Naigle references Hallmark several times…it would be a lovely Hallmark movie.
I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a sweet small town Christmas romance. Liz finally gets what she always dreamed of with Angels Rest. The only problem it looks nothing like it did in her childhood. Matt remembers Liz from their childhood and helps her to bring back Angels Rest to all it’s glory. You meet some great people in this small town. I love how Matt and Liz go out and have fun, it would be something I would want to do with someone. I did cry reading this. I hope there are more books in this little town. I would love to go back.

Christmas Angels by Nancy Naigle is an adorable, uplifting, and sweet Christmas romance.
This is a quick, light, and appropriate read for anyone that enjoys romance (that isn’t sleezy), the spirit of the Christmas season, and everyone working together for a common positive purpose.
I enjoyed the dynamics between Liz and Matt and thought that they had chemistry and a spark from the very beginning. I enjoyed the whole cast of secondary characters and I felt the ending was realistic and appropriate.
My favorite part had to be the adorable and amazing dog, Elvis. Too cute!
A great read.
5/5 stars
Liz Westmoreland grew up spending the summers and holidays at her grandparents inn, Angel Rest, in Antler Creek and always had dreams of running it herself. When her grandparents retire and sell the inn before Liz is able to buy it, her dreams are crushed until one day she sees an auction on-line for the very inn she grew up loving. Liz ends up winning the auction without even seeing the property. Excited to see the inn, Liz drives to see the property but ends up shocked by the state of the house. Still determined, Liz has a plan to bring Angel Rest back to its former glory.
Matt Hardy, who lives on the property adjacent to Angel Rest, also tried to win the auction and he is pleasantly surprised to see who actually won the bid……the cute granddaughter of the original owners. Growing up Matt had the hugest crush on Liz. Determined to see if there is any spark between him and Liz, Matt offers to help Liz.
While Matt and Liz are spending a lot of time together, Liz starts to develop feelings for Matt, but she explains that she doesn’t date people she works with. That’s okay with Matt, he will just bide his time until things are perfect. While fixing the inn up, some of Liz’s grandmother’s angels keep popping up in the strangest places. Liz takes this as a sign that she is doing the right thing. As things are going along wonderfully, an accident causes Liz to rethink if she is doing the right thing. It will take a huge leap of faith in herself to realize that Antler Creek is the place where she belongs and where she will find her happy ending.
I just loved Matt! He is the perfect type of gentleman that you always hope for. He’s sweet, thoughtful and just a good person. I enjoyed Liz too. She is a take charge type of person and likes to get things done. Together they make a great couple! I really enjoyed this fun story.
This is the first book I read after the passing of my husband and it was a conscious decision to pick this one. I needed a light romance without angst and this one had all the feels and was so much like a Christmas Hallmark movie I settled in and cried my way through it and felt relieved. Liz has wanted her grandparents Inn for years and she finally comes across a listing for an auction for what looks to be it and enters a bid. Wonder of wonders she actually wins but when she shows up she finds the property in such devastation she is heartbroken. Matt Hardy narrowly missed out on getting the property next to his but he is so pleased when he finds out Liz is the new owner. Working with her, they put the Inn back together all while sparks ignite between them. Yea, all the feels in this one! Grab the hot chocolate and a bowl of popcorn and settle in for a great read! I definitely recommend this one!
I was completely captivated by this inspirational Christmas story, a sweet romance and the story of one woman’s determination to recapture the best memories of her childhood. A perfect snowy small town setting sets the stage for this wonderful book, with charming and generous characters. I’d love to spend Christmas at Angels Rest, enjoying the hospitality and the perfect holiday ambiance. Liz and Matt are an adorable couple, with their warm hearts and giving, caring natures. I hope author Nancy Naigle will follow up this novel with a sequel, featuring Krissy and the handsome sheriff!
