A heartwarming Christmas story filled with the magic and miracles of the holiday season by USA Today Bestselling author, Nancy Naigle. Growing up, Liz Westmoreland dreamed of taking over her grandparents inn located in the small mountain town of Antler Creek only for it to be sold before she ever got the chance. While browsing the internet, she stumbles upon a listing for what looks to be the … what looks to be the picturesque inn and it’s set to go to auction. Liz places a bid, and by a miracle, wins the auction. But when she gets there she finds the property in significant disrepair.
When Matt Hardy narrowly lost the inn and property that butted his land, he just hoped it wasn’t another city slicker coming to make matters worse after the previous owners gutted the place for an art gallery. But the minute he recognized the sweet, freckle-faced girl from his childhood and heard her plans to reopen the inn, he jumps at the chance to help his childhood crush restore a place where he made so many fond memories.
While working on repairs, Liz and Matt discover her grandmother’s collection of angels in one of the cabins. When the angels start mysteriously showing up all over the inn, she begins to look at them as reassurance–that restoring the inn is what she’s meant to do. But when an accident leaves Liz feeling like she made a mistake, will Matt–and the residents of Antler Creek–be able to show Liz that she’s found a home? And possibly true love as well?

A heart warming story ideal for a winter’s day read. The characters have plenty of depth I loved Matt whose childhood crush soon developed into something more. I liked Liz but wanted to shake her at times. A slow burn romance, that left me with a warm fuzzy feeling. I also loved Elvis, Matt’s dog who was a delight. A lovely traditional love story
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
This is exactly the kind of romance that I like to read. Characters are well-rounded true-to-life individuals. Before the main characters meet, the author gives us enough backstory to prepare us for the potential conflict, but also have us rooting for the success of their shared project (in this case restoring Liz’s grandparents resort/inn to its previous family-friendly glory). The fact that Matt remembers Liz from back in the day and still carries a crush for her sweetens the plot. Add in a close-knit community engaged with each other’s lives and eager for the economic boost that a restored Angels Rest could spur on, and you have all the ingredients for a story full of hope and peace. I recommend that you add this to your holiday reading list.
I requested and voluntarily read an advance review copy provided by the publisher via Netgalley and I offer my honest opinion in response.
Very cute, sweet romance. Liz Westmoreland is a successful businesswoman, but she dreams of running a Lodge like her grandparents owned. Some of her best times growing up were spent at Angels Rest Lodge, so when she sees it for sale on an auction website, she takes the plunge and buys it. Of course, the place needs a lot of work, so she starts working with Matt Hardy, hottie architect. Matt grew up in Antler Falls, and his first crush was on a thirteen year old Liz who was visiting her grandparents. This is a delightful, clean romance. Both Liz and Matt are likable, and the whole town is full of kind characters. If you are a fan of Hallmark Christmas movies, this is the book for you. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
Nancy Naigle writes awesome Christmas stories, and Christmas Angels is no exception. The story is about a city woman, Liz, who has always yearned to return to the inn her grandparents once owned. Christmas at the inn was always magical when she was little.
After she buys the property at auction, a handsome contractor, Matt, sets out to help her restore it to it’s former glory and bring the magic of Christmas back to the small town and Liz.
Liz doesn’t usually blend business and her personal life, but can she keep from falling for the wonder of Matt and the wonderful season of Christmas?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
A sweet and easy read that got me in the Christmas spirit. Loved Antler Creek and its delightful residents. Found myself pulling for Matt and Liz from the start. Elvis was the perfect sidekick. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
A very sweet and endearing Christmas holiday story. Liz has fond memories of the times she spent with her grandparents. When the opportunity arises to purchase the property they lived on she jumps on it. Matt is struggling to recover from the loss of his dad. Reconnecting with his childhood crush is helping. This is a story about community and love. All the small things that they do to make each other’s lives better. Liz and Matt work to make Angels Rest a true Christmas miracle bringing the town and families together.
Nancy Naigle has done it again. Christmas Angels is a heartwarming, sweet and cute Christmas story. All her characters are well-developed and realistic. I love how the hero, Matt Hardy truly does heroic actions to make life better for the heroine, Liz Westmoreland. I don’t know how any woman could fail to fall in love with Matt. The town of Antler Creek was fun to visit. I loved the people there and their togetherness. Ms. Naigle made me feel I was a part of Liz and Matt’s adventures, the town’s activities and all the Christmas fun. I loved this book!
