Photographer Rachel Prudhomme has finally settled in Ministry, Alabama. Sure, the pace is slower, and she’s had her heart blessed more times than she can count, but putting down her roots where her family is feels right, if only the town’s new doctor and now neighbor weren’t so hot and constantly igniting her dreams. How can she keep her vow to steer clear of men when he keeps sauntering across … across her path?
For Dr. Nicholas Sullivan to get his dream job in Atlanta, he must fill in at Ministry General, where they’re short staffed for the holidays. He never expects to fall for his beautiful next door neighbor, Rachel.
Soon, Nick and Rachael make a deal. They’ll pretend to date so Rachael can avoid the scrutiny from her family to “find a good man” and Nick can avoid the single lovelies in town who take his short stay as a challenge. Amidst the carolers, Christmas lights, and an unlikely Alabama snowstorm, Nick and Rachel can’t help but notice the powerful emotional and physical attraction between them. Will a Christmas miracle be all it takes to make all of their dreams come true?

Wonderful and engaging
Ministry, Alabama. Sounds like a place I’d like to live. The characters are warm and friendly. Your mom and sister are there, so is the new doctor. He’s only suppose to be there for a short time, but love changes everything.
Likable characters and small town charm featuring a number of its Christmas events. The man and woman have an instant attraction where the reader is privy to their thoughts for each other. Both have family baggage to dwell with as well as the small town vs, big city dilemma. Not a clean romance.
Easy to read
I am not good at this but I did enjoy this book with its many twists snd turns.
Wonderful story. I just got impatient as I do a lot of times with books. Too wordy
Awesome book
A charming small town with larger than life characters. This story reads like a great Hallmark movie. A young go getting Dr having to spend time in a small hospital before he gets his high powered job. That small town takes him in and shows him a different side to life. The lovely Rachel just helps cement these new values.
Like the character building and the changing of his attitude about being “stuck” in this smaller town that wasn’t Atlanta. He began to realize that away from the constant stress level difference from a Level 1 to Level 3 facility…he could actually have time for a life. Nice and enjoyable book.
Totally charming and heartwarming. I have become a big fan of Susan Sands and her stories set in Ministry, Alabama. I did not initially make the connection of this book to the prior stories of Cammie (of the Jessica hair on fire fame). It was wonderful to catch up with all of the characters. Nick and Rachel’s stories is wonderful. Rooted for them all the way.
For those who like romance without detailed sex descriptions — this writer does all the romance and the characters do make love, but the details and descriptions are left to your imagination. Excellently done.
I have enjoyed this series and characters!!! Highly recommend!
