Stephen King’s ultimate, evil vehicle of terror, Christine: the frightening story of a nerdy teenager who falls in love with his vintage Plymouth Fury. It was love at first sight, but this car is no lady. Evil is alive in Libertyville. It inhabits a custom-painted red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury named Christine and young Arnold Cunningham, who buys it. Along with Arnold’s girlfriend, Leigh … Arnold’s girlfriend, Leigh Cabot, Dennis Guilder attempts to find out the real truth behind Christine and finds more than he bargained for: from murder to suicide, there’s a peculiar feeling that surrounds Christine—she gets revenge on anyone standing in her path.
Can Dennis save Arnold from the wrath of Christine? This #1 national bestseller is “Vintage Stephen King…breathtaking…awesome. Carries such momentum the reader must force himself to slow down” (The New York Times Book Review).

Very good story
I first read this novel 28 years ago. It was my first taste of Stephen King fiction. This book made me a lifelong fan of Kong’s work.
Literally could not put this book down, absolutely amazing!
Very classic Stephen King. Still a good book after years of reading it the first time. Decent amount of character information. A wild plot. No real resolution in the end. Definitely a page turner.
Although there are some consistency errors (the car changes from a 4 door to a 2 door and back again a few times), this is still one of the best novels from Stephen King.
One of King’s best. Gives me shivers every time I read it!
Pure Stephan King!
A boy and his car. Loves the car more than the girl.
Loved Christine! I will never name a car after reading this.
A haunted car? Who thinks of that?!
Master of horror Stephen King takes you on a fast and furious ride in this chilling shocker about the bizarre love affair between a tormented teenage boy and a demonic 1958 Plymouth Fury. Arnold Cunningham instantly falls in love with a rusted out hull of a red classic Plymouth Fury he catches a glimpse of in a junkyard. His friend, Dennis, tries to convince him that the car is nothing but a wreck and definitely not worth buying, but Arnie insists on owning the car, which goes by the name of Christine, and fixing “her” up. As he begins to slowly restore her at Darnell’s Garage, he also spends his school hours contending with bullies and wooing the Leigh, the new high school beauty. Incredibly, the restoration of Christine seems to progress faster and faster, until the car is completely restored to her former beauty. But, as the car goes back to cherry condition, Arnie’s personality and appearance begins to change. In some ways, these changes are good. He undergoes a drastic transformation from a pimply geek into a handsome teenager. But he spends more and more time with Christine and less time with his new sweetheart, who is becoming just as alarmed about his overall transformation as his best friend, and they are convinced it has something to do with Christine. Dennis has sensed something horrible about the car from the beginning and Leigh is beginning to become aware of the car’s sinister side herself, especially since she was recently almost killed in the car during a date with Arnie in a fashion that convinces her that the car was somehow attacking her! Arnie is the only person who doesn’t have an instinctively uneasy feeling about the car who is beginning to take things personally… in a deadly way. Arnie’s parents, teachers, and enemies soon learn that there’s a lethal price to pay for crossing him… and Christine. And Dennis and Leigh are the only ones with the courage to find a way to destroy the evil supernatural car, even though it means that they risk becoming the car’s next victims. Can they find a way to rid the car from whatever evil force gives her a terrifying life of her own in time to save Arnie? Find out in this spooky chiller that proves why Stephen King still wears the crown when it comes to who is the ultimate master of the modern horror story!
Not one of my favorites. A car that won’t die? A jealous crazy vindictive possessive automobile that won’t “die”????
