Chop, Chop: Books 1–7

I liked this series so much, I re-read it. I probably will read it again. I recommended it to several of my friends. Touching, moving.

I saw several reviews mentioning difficulty getting used to the author’s voice. I did not have that problem at all. I was completely drawn in from the very first chapter and had difficulty putting it down until I was done with every last book. I fell in love with these characters. I laughed. I cried. This series has made an impact on my life and my faith.

Like some, when I first started reading, I thought, oh no, this is more a series for youth, that it was a coming of age story. The more I read, I kind of enjoyed the group of friends and their interactions and settled in for a sweet journey of how faith in God was their compass. This series starts with the characters as youth, then follows them through college, and adulthood. This is one of the best Christian book series I’ve read and glad I had a chance to read.

What I wasn’t prepared for was the need to have a box of tissues and the need to stop reading, because I couldn’t see the words through all the tears, and it didn’t stop with the first book.

Ms Cronk has a style of writing that takes awhile to get use to for me, but draws me in to the story and the characters, making it easy to relate to, understand and find very inspirational.

Yes, this is a series about Christian Faith, but not preachy as some have stated. This series show how even Christians continue to battle with their wants and what God wants for them. Just because we love God, it doesn’t mean that life goes smoothly, without problems or making bad choices, but that we are not alone and that God always loves us and helps us, no matter what. I found that when I think something is preachy, it’s because there is something that need attention in my life I’m not ready to handle. This series also had me stop an think about different things in my life, and yes, the stories left a lot of questions to ponder, but so worth the time. It was like food for the soul.

I only read books 1 and 2 but it was a good series, I really enjoyed it.

I loved this series…one of my favorite in a very long time.

I laughed and I cried in each book! I rejoiced with each person who found the Lord or became stronger in their relationship with the Lord!
The events are real and so are the reactions of the characters. I came to love and respect the characters and I never wanted it to end!!

I devoured this series. Abolutely Wonderful!!!

The series is my all-time favorite. You follow the characters through every phase of life, the good and the bad. Read this. Read this now.

I loved following these characters from their teens through their lives, working at living as God would want them, building the character that a life devoted to Him will have.

These are books you can’t put down, I hope you write more.
