Naya was a good girl. She never argued or fussed, even when an archaic society demanded she choose a husband and marry. She had done everything right… Hadn’t she?So how did she end up here, in the hell they called Sector 2?Stolen from her home in the dead of night and thrown at the feet of a man that people only dared speak of in whispers, everything has gone horribly wrong in the blink of an … eye.Treachery brought them together, but fate would see them bound. There was no escaping this crumbling kingdom once the mad monster set his mind, and his heart, on her.*This story is an epic fairy tale romance, where the beast finds his beauty in the most unlikely of places. It is set in a dystopian world where violence and sexual situations are a part of daily life. It features extreme themes unsuitable for some readers. Proceed with caution. No cliffhanger, and happily-ever-after guaranteed.

This is a great omegaverse read, especially for a debut novel.
Towards the lighter grey end of the “dark spectrum”, Choosing Her Alpha is a great addition to the omegaverse genre. The sex is all consensual, though there are a few scenes of violence and a near miss scene. Isoellen has created a dystopian future that reminded me a little of that in the O’Kane series of books by Kit Rocha. I’m not suggesting any copying, this is definitely it’s own book and a really great one too. Several friends had recommended this book as one to read, and since it was in KU I decided to give it a try. I’m so happy I did because this proved to be a very captivating read, I really didn’t want to put this one down.
It’s pretty difficult to do anything other than adore Sasha, a strong and determined girl who cared about those around her. In a world where fertile Omega’s are already quite rare, she displays gifts that truly set her apart. This is one area that I would have liked to have seen more detail on, or to have it play a more significant role in the story. In fact there were a couple of different plot strands that allowed a more detailed picture to be painted of Sasha’s background and life, but that didn’t really add to the story going forward.
Whilst the members of Kane’s harem weren’t the nicest of females, I liked that the author didn’t go down the route of all other females being nasty and bitchy to the heroine. In fact there is a good blend of supporting characters to give the story extra depth.
The story is quite slow burn, we have to wait a fairly long time for the first sex scene between Kane and Sasha. There was just so much great story within the pages that I didn’t miss them. In fact I felt it made the relationship between Kane and Sasha feel more believable. There was also some necessary world building that took place in this time.
The epilogue is written from Kane’s point of view with him reminiscing over certain events, allowing us to understand his actions and reasoning. Whilst it was really good to understand some of his motivations and feelings, in future I would love the author to have both point of views scattered throughout the book. It doesn’t have to be a 50/50 split, but including it more frequently does allow us the reader to form a deeper bond with both characters.
This is an author I will most definitely be keeping track of and reading in the future.
Sasha leaves behind her cruel life and escapes from from the clutches of her evil step-father in search of a stronger mate who can protect her. She meets warlord Kane and strikes a deal with him.
I like the premise of the story and it was interesting. The scarcity of food, military background and breeds divided between stages: Alphas, Betas, Omegas and Drones. Sasha is independent and has little experience of the outside world but she thrives impressingly. Kane is an Alpha who everyone fears. He is dangerous and feared. He is likeable and protective though not my usual Omegaverse Alpha who tends to be a major a-hole.
This book is definitely my new 5 stars read! Although it deserves more than just 5 stars in my opinion. Right from the beginning you get sucked into the story with such a force that you won’t be able to stop reading it until you haven’t reached the end.
What I absolutely loved about the book is the way in which the author managed to create a whole new universe but in the same time keeping the specific traits of the omegaverse genre. Thus the result is an amazing book who has a brilliant and a not-from-this-world chemistry between its main characters and that would definitely make one’s heartbeat rise, suspense and lots of action and of course a beautiful HEA that promise not to let one disappointed. So in other words this book has everything one could wish for in a book and I highly recommend you read it.
A steam engine of a book, I blasted through it. Sasha has got to be one of my favorite heroines I’ve ever read about. In an evil environment, she is all of the best things. Her upbringing made her stronger because she grew up with less, and her mother…just wow, what a piece of work. I thought she was the worst villain in the pages, but they just kept piling on. Kane began kind of one-dimensionally, but even he grew, and his truth began to unravel the more he was exposed. There is so much violence in the story that it’s definitely a plus for me and the sexual progression is like an avalanche of love delightfully described and involved. I’m definitely a fan of this author now and encourage you to read her books too!
This Omegaverse book took me on one heck of a ride. That twist there at the end about Merrick, I really didn’t think that was going to be a thing. I thought I had read something earlier when Sasha and Kane were talking, didn’t pay it much mind but it all makes a lot of sense now.
I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster but in a really good way. I haven’t read a book so in depth about how she comes into her nature. That was a different perspective to me, usually it’s reading Omegas coming into their heat or running into an alpha. I haven’t read anything where the Omega seeks out an Alpha before she has even come into her nature. I loved it though, it just made the emotional connection even more real.
Of course, there are your mean girls and I liked how Sasha handled them towards the end, especially the way she handled Bella. She was honest but not rude and it was the making a true leader.
Everything that Sasha went through was just heart breaking, the way her mother treated her and how she was working with Merrick to take Sasha’s choice was just disgusting. I’m glad that Kane took care of everything even though he was gone from her for so long. My heart started to long for him lol.
In the end though, everything tied up perfectly. I wouldn’t have changed a thing about it. Can’t wait to read more, this was a first from this author for me.
I’ll be honest that I don’t read a lot of M/F Omegaverse due to the fact that I’ve encountered so many with dubious, non-consensual, & or reverse-harem situations and that just isn’t my jam. However someone I follow on Goodreads liked a review of this book that totally piqued my interest. I picked it up fully prepared to DNF or finish it mostly unimpressed.
My sincerest apologies to Isoellen. Whoah! I really enjoyed this book and devoured it in one evening. Minus the epilogue, this is told entirely from omega Sasha’s point of view. She’s recently turned 18 and after learning that her mother and step-father have some horrific plans for her future, she strikes out to find an alternative. The world-building is really well done and I felt like I understood not only the dynamics, but the actual physical look to the various sectors. Readers should be aware that there are many explicit and graphic scenes, but they don’t feel gratuitous nor do they overpower a captivating story.
There were several plot twists that, while completely surprising me, were still fully supported by the storyline. While a part of me wishes that there was a little more time spent between Sasha and her chosen Alpha after the relationship is fully established – this does end in a solid HEA. I’m hooked on the world Isoellen has created and I’ll definitely be working the next book, Her Broken Alpha, into my TBR.
I don’t wander into the paranormal romance genre very often. I binged like crazy when I first got a reader, then skipped over to the other romance genres once I stopped seeing new and fresh material coming out. Then I saw Choosing Her Alpha recommended in a group and checked it out. I will admit that I clicked because of that cover just as much as the rec. (Yes, I’m a sucker for a manly, hair dusted chest!) Luckily for me, the inside of the book matched the outside.
Sasha is an omega breeder and at the mercy of her mentally unstable mother and her mother’s third husband, Merrick. They have plans for Sasha that doesn’t in any way end with her happiness, so Sasha sneaks out of her sector and heads toward the sector of Constantine Kane. Kane’s name has been said in Sasha’s house as both an enemy and an honorable man, something she desperately needs.
There is a bit of world-building as this is an earth society after a virus has drastically changed things with breed coming out superior and humans falling down the food chain. Within the breeds, there are alphas, betas, breeders, etc, which Isoellen maps out well without bogging the reader down with tons of details. She sets the stage well, allowing for a complete picture of the world her characters live in. The core of the story is heroine, Sasha. Sasha is unique in that she is a coveted omega breeder, with rare abilities but she has been sheltered away (though not safely) in her father’s sector, not knowing that there is a much wider, better world beyond her borders. She is clever, talented, and stronger than she gives herself credit for. Kane is an “alpha’s alpha” and all that accompanies that title; strong, intelligent, a leader. Sasha brings out the softer side of the Warlord Alpha, which makes for some sweet then scorching scenes.
Choosing Her Alpha is all about the romance and mating of these two seemingly very different people with a bit of intrigue within their story. Isoellen leaves some threads hanging for what I hope are future stories within her world. The story reads at a nice pace with Sasha’s POV the only one, except for the epilogue with sweet, heat, and all things alpha that leads to a satisfying HEA.
Looking for a para romance with great characters, strong world-building, and what looks to be the start of a very good series of books, this is the read to one-click.
So I had to see what all the fuss was about, this was a Wattpad story originally. I was pleasantly surprised by this book, the pacing, and the characters’ distinctive personalities kept me engaged in finishing the book practically in one sitting. One of the better omegaverse books I have read lately. If you have never read an omegaverse story I think it would be wise to dip your toes into this dark pool with this read. It’s not as dark as many of the others I have read, but the author kept me interested in her end game. She somehow managed to create a familiar feeling romantic narrative in this unpredictably dangerous omegaverse genre. I still love the darker, more extreme stories, but this just left me satisfied in a happy way.
I really enjoyed Choosing her Alpha like massively: I read this on wattpad initially and was instantly transfixed this was just so imaginative with a story that pulled me into the unfolding narrative almost instantly.
So this was a reread after the author decided to publish and I am so ecstatic other’s will now get the chance to experience this fabulous story on a much wider basis.
Let me tell you it was no actual hardship reading this again I adored it just as much this time around, definitely the sign of an excellent read that.
I am all for the feels and how I ultimately connect with a story, So when rating this I ultimately went with my gut and not only could I not put this down I was actually mesmerised and so emotionally invested in what was actually unfolding.
So fantastic and imaginative world-building that didn’t information dump on me (big plus point) a lot of authors can actually lose a reader here.
This was set against a backdrop of Alphas, Beta and Omegas and then drones which are basically at the bottom.
Drones are really just basically what’s left of the humans gene-pool.
Drone science has produced the original Alpha and with evolution, the breeds are now the ruling class.
So our Omega here is young Sasha a breed approaching her first estrous.
Current events with her troubled home life lead to her approaching the warlord Constantine Kane to make a bargain.
Well, Kane might just be my favourite Alpha ever: not only did he take care of Sasha in such a protective and kind way treating her like the precious cargo she was he worked with her waiting patiently until such time she was ready to be a breedmate.
So discount Sasha’s young age here this was not in any way creepy at all mainly I think because this is Omegaverse so it’s all about biological urges and such and also the way this handled things.
When it came to the heat here this was bloody scorching this author can sure write a combustible sex scene that makes you tingle in all the right ways I was seriously impressed at how hot this was.
I also adored the slow-burn dynamic between Sasha and Kane it was really well done.
So yeh safe to say I loved this and I think this new writer is a definite emerging talent and certainly one to watch out for.
This was just magic and I was completely captivated throughout hard to believe this is actually a debut author, seriously impressed, I will be keeping an eye on this author as she just ticks all my boxes.
Everyone just needs to go out and read this book especially if you love omegaverse this is one of the good ones and gets massive hell yeh from my camp.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Choosing Her Alpha.

I absolutely love the world building in this book. It’s a great read and had me enthralled, I just couldn’t put the book down. 🙂
I am so looking forward to the 2nd book. I first came across this author on Wattpad and I have to say she’s got me hooked!
This is an Omegaverse category book with a male Alpha and female Omega. It’s set in a dystopian world where the people live in 12 different sectors and it’s conditions differ from the sectors.
The book does have some scenes you might find triggering – but all in all I think it’s a great addition to the Omegaverse.
The sex is hawt and it’s got the most common tropes. 🙂
Holy sh*t! what did i just read! this was amazing! you have to read this book like NOW! it was 1 hell of a story. a take on omegaverse i have never read before. the omegas get to choose not the alphas!
Sasha omg i love that character! she is so strong but she was such a brat at times! i just wanted to shake her and ask her what she thought she was doing!
Kane was such a great character also trying to teach Sasha what she should have known but did’t because of her crazy parents. trying to teach her and make her believe her value as the treasure she is.
im not good at writing reviews and i have not the words to tell you how amazing this story is. you need to read it yourselves and learn just how amazing it is for yourselves. go get this book now you wont regret it!
Steamy and noteworthy. Omegaverse at its BEST!
Sasha is an Omega living in Dover’s End taking care of her mentally ill mother and running the bar/brothel her father left behind with her mother’s third husband. Sasha is nearing her 18th birthday and first heat. Her mother lets her know that Sasha will not be able to choose as is the law of their country. Sasha knows her unstable mother and stepfather have come up with a scheme to take away all her options for her future. She devises a plan to make sure that does not happen.
Constantine Kane is the ruler of one of the best sectors in the 12-sector country. He is the fiercest of all the rulers. The other rulers fear and respect him. He is the perfect Alpha for Sasha. Well at least one of them thinks that. As one pulls towards the intense attraction one pulls away. What will be the ultimate outcome?
I genuinely enjoyed this novel. Although it was about an Alpha and an Omega, the path of this story was slightly different from the ones that I have read before. Kane is a man that lives by rules and laws. He hands (this not meant to be a pun) justice swiftly. He knows more about Sasha and her current situation than she does. Watching the different sides of Sasha come in to play when dealing with Kane, the Harem Jewels, her future mother-in-law, and her past is interesting and eye-opening. Sasha is not initially presented as a naïve girl, however, the more time she spends with Kane the more the reader realizes Sasha has no clue what was going in her life. The reader also realizes her mentally unstable mother was not so mentally unstable. This novel was action-packed, entertaining, a page-turner, and steamy towards the end. It is a slow entertaining build to the HEA; however, it is worth each word. I am ready to read the next installment in this series.
After several recommendations to read omegaverse, I tried another series – forcing myself to read the first three books and then just gave up. It wasn’t for me. However, when this one was introduced in a reader group I decided to give it one more try. I still have mixed emotions about this troupe.
’Breeders choose, and whether he wanted a bride-mate or not, Sasha had chosen him.’
I’m uncertain if this has more books to come, but most of this was world building, written completely in the heroine’s point of view with an epilogue in the hero’s. There was very little actual interaction between Kane and Sasha and that disappointed me. I never had a chance to really get to see this couple as a couple or to work out any issues they might have. This is all about Sasha and her journey into maturity.
While the epilogue certainly shines the light on Kane’s jealous actions, there were not many scenes that highlighted this behavior. He was protective, of that there is never a doubt. I wish I could have experienced more of him. I think I would have been completely in love with this if I had. Once this couple comes together, it’s raw, dirty and intense!
Overall, this was an interesting read and I might try another book if this is a series, but I don’t feel driven to do so.
I liked a lot “Choosing her Alpha”. Great character and world building. Sasha and Kane story is captivating. The slow-medium burn is awesome.
Both main characters are powerful, strong and jealous possessive. They’re made for each other but they both have to work to get together. In this Omegaverse is the omega choosing her Alpha which a refreshing and an interesting change.
I’m giving it 4 starts instead of 5 because the much anticipated sex scene was a bit messy, it wasn’t clear who was doing what or how but I’ll be reading next book for sure.
3,75 stars
The first time that I heard about this writer and this book ‘Choosing her alpha’ was when I read a review about it on Goodreads. After reading that review and the blurb I was immediately curious about the story but sadly the writer had just removed it from Wattpad (it was there that the reviewer had read it). So I had to wait until the writer published it on Amazon to read it myself and that is now the case.
One of the reasons why I was so curious about this story was because it was an omegaverse story. It’s a genre somewhat new to me but I love alpha, dominant men in my stories so I really wanted to try this one.
So I did and I liked it. I couldn’t stop reading it so I read the whole book in one evening (the fact that the story wasn’t very long helped also). For a debut story it was really good. It may not be a very large book but it certainly had a lot of emotions in it.
‘Choosing her alpha’ is the first book set in a new world so the writer had to tell and ‘explain’ a lot in this story. There was sometimes a lot of information to take in but it never put me out of the story. It was spread out throughout the story. I really liked this new world. Yes, it was violent at times but I never found it too dark.
One of the things that I found very interesting in this story was the evolution that Sasha’s character made throughout the story. You really saw her grew along the way, not only in her body but also into her womanly power. She fought for what she wanted and that was Kane. I loved that. And Kane, the alpha male of the alphas. He was indeed ruthless against this enemies but I adored the way he acted when he was with Sasha. He was gentle and patient when she needed it and later on when he was sure that she could take his alpha side, he give her that too. The sex scenes were very hot, wild and dominant. If you don’t like sharp teeth or brutal sex in the bedroom then this book isn’t for you.
I must confess that in the beginning when Sasha slept in Kane’s house there was a scene that I didn’t expected and that had me thinking that this book would go a way that I wouldn’t like but luckily for me, Sasha didn’t like it too and she made this very clear. And later on, after reading more of the story and about the biology of the alphas and what it did to Sasha (Omega) I could understand the reason for that particular scene.
The ending was a happy one but for me it also came a little abruptly. I would have loved a bit more story there. Because, although we got more in the epilogue (and I was very happy about that), I would have love a bit more story with the couple in it.
The story is told from Sasha’s POV which made that Kane’s thoughts and actions were a mystery for the reader and I loved that. Sasha and Kane really made a great couple.
Although it isn’t mention I do believe that there will be more books set in this world, the epilogue certainly made me believe that. I’m already curious about them.
Sasha was living a life of torture from her own mother, who couldn’t stand her. Her mother’s life was fading, even though she took care of her. Her mother’s husband, Merrick was also a thorn in her side. He treated everyone like they were beneath him. He turned Sasha’s house into a brothel. They were all scared of Merrick, all except Sasha. She defied him when she could and tried to take the brunt of his anger. She finally had enough and was scared of the plans that had been formed for her after her mother died. She left to find an Alpha to protect her so she could have her home back. She snuck out and traveled to look for someone she heard mentioned, Kane. She found him and he soon discovered who and what she was. Sasha had not yet come in her breeder status. Kane is being very protective of her. But Sasha finds out things as she saw them were not as she thought them to be. She goes into her first estrous. She needs Kane to make it through. It is hard for Kane to be honorable but he is. So much drama. Much is happening. Sasha trys to escape and go back home. Meanwhile, Kane has been taking care of those who harmed Sasha, not in a good way.
I know I have left out other points. You just have to read the book. So very good and loved the ending.

As you may know by now, my favourite genre is Omegaverse and when I happened to see that there was another new writer in the genre I was super excited but also a little apprehensive.
With it being my favourite there are certain things I do not like messed with.
Purring Alphas
Estros
Slick
Fierce little omegas that are normally so sweet and quiet shocking everyone with their primal instincts to defend/get what they want.
The knot.
Mate bonding.
So I started this book cautiously…but I needn’t have worried because this one has it all!
It was so feckin’ good I couldn’t put it down.
SASHA
Sahsa has had a really tough life so far. Her father died a few years ago and she was without a doubt a daddy’s girl. Why was she so close to her dad? Well, that would be because her mother is the spawn of satan. A cruel and vindictive woman who has spent all of Sasha’s life thinking up ways to fuck with her.
It’s so sad.
Anyway, as the mother lies on her sickbed she lets slip that Sahsa will have her right to chose her own alpha to mate bond with stripped from her as a last act of cruelty.
Sasha, quite rightly, panics because she doesn’t want to be given to her mother’s 3rd husband as a gift. He too is a cruel and selfish arse.
So she flees to another district to seek out another Alpha she’s heard of to ask him to mate/bond with her.
When she gets there though she immediately realises she made a mistake but…it’s too late.
Kane now has her in his custody and things get intense real fast.
KANE
Och man! This alpha has it all. He is huge (all over, wink wink) super dominant, well respected, fierce and feared. Females want him and males wanna be him.
He has his pick of women from his own personal harem and is fairly happy with his lot. That is until a young omega sneaks into his home and messes shit up for him, lol.
He tries to do right by her by taking her to see a doctor to help her out with missed medical appointments (damn her mother) but on the way there she goes into her first heat cycle.
From this point on his control is stretched to the max and Sasha has no idea what she’s doing to him.
SEX SCENES
I swear from the first couple of pages I was desperate for him to lose his control and just feckin’ take her!! But, oh, the anticipation was sweet agony.
“Feed me. Please. Feed me,” she croaked. “Waiting for you to ask.” He pushed two of his fingers deep into Sasha’s back hole and he thrust his hips up, his cock bumping the back of her throat and erupting at her command. The flavor was all Kane, musk and pure, hot gingery spice, thick as cream. She swallowed it all as he worked her with his fingers and gave Sasha her own pleasure. She gasped over him, resting her cheek against the base of abdominal muscles and burying her face in warmth and rough male hairs, nosing at his skin. Sasha shifted a little, reaching around his waist in a hug, filling her arms with him and holding him tight while her other hand yet held the base of his cock. Exploring his taste, texture, and smell, she kissed her way to the round egg shapes beneath his cock. She licked at the sacks, curious. “In your mouth, baby. In your mouth. And rub me here.” He removed her hand and pressed her fingers against the sensitive span of skin between his balls and his anus. “Good girl.”
FINAL THOUGHTS on CHOOSING HER ALPHA by Isoellen
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had a wee bit of everything. It was dark and intense but also had moments that made me snort a little. It had a few cute moments but then also had scorching sex scenes too.
Loved it.
5 Stars
One of my favorite Omegaverse books! To me, Choosing Her Alpha is an Omega Cinderella tale. While there are dark themes, I wouldn’t classify this as a dark romance. Definitely an Omega coming of age story with a fairy taleesque romance.
I definitely recommend this for fans of Omegaverse 🙂
Choosing Her Alpha is an outstanding addition to the omegaverse universe! I absolutely loved Isoellen’s unique take of alpha/omega relationships, and the world building was fantastic. I really like how independent, strong, and sassy Sasha is, and Kane is sooooo sexy. And the heat between the two is off the charts! I will be eagerly awaiting more books in this world (and anything else Isoellen decides to write!)
I received an ARC copy of this book and my opinions are my own.
