Living One’s Dreams
Dogs and horses can be calming and healing no matter the tragedy. They’d helped horse-crazy Chelsea when she’d lost her mother and now she was trying to help others in the same way. But the facility was in danger of closing. Could she rescue it? Let’s add in to the mix a lovable work dog, Ollie, and a widower and his daughter. Narrator Katie Grace keeps the drama and romance flowing in this charming tale.
I enjoyed Choosing Chelsea. It vaguely reminded me of the movie Remember Me where a tragic loss inadvertently helps in bringing these lovely people together. Chelsea, Nick and Lily really seem destined to be a family. The threat of impending closer of Golden Coast Stables brings this trio together. Their bond grows as they fight to keep it’s doors open. Unknowingly providing a missing piece to each others puzzles and helping each other to heal.
It wasn’t hard to fall in love with Chelsea, Nick and especially Lily. Their story is beautiful and it touched my heart.
Choosing Chelsea is my first book in the Gold Coast Retrievers Series and I was hooked. Nick and Chelsea, along with Nick’s 7 year old daughter Lily just melted my heart. Throw in Ollie (Chelsea’s dog) and Jake the sweet horse and you get all sappy inside. This story just makes you smile. This was a sweet story of love, loss, understanding and so much more. You get all the feels. I can’t wait for more books in this series.
Heartwarming from Beginning to End!
The sweetest and most engaging book that I think I’ve read. I’ve read other books by Christina Butrum, but so far this one is my favorite. The story of Nick and Chelsea is so wonderful. This story was heartwarming and gripped your heart strings from start to finish. Beginning with Chelsea’s love for horses, and Nick’s loss, and his daughter Lily’s love and enthusiasm for life. The way they all came together and in the end not only helped Chelsea and Lily reach their love for horses and the ranch come true, but how they helped others by doing so. This is a must read!
Another wholesome romance which is an addition to the Gold Coast Retrievers series.
This one drew me into it’s story with great character development . You can’t go wrong with a wholesome romance that has horses,a golden retriever ,a sweet child and romance brewing.
I enjoyed this story!

This book carried me on an emotional roller coaster. I loved, I laughed, I cried, I hurt, I just felt! And that’s what every Christina Butrum book does to me!

Another wonderful and heartwarming story. Chelsea and Ollie had me from the start. This is a sweet, romantic story full of family, laughs, drama and heart melting warmth. I received this book as a gift and voluntarily give this review
I really enjoyed this book, it was such a sweet story. Chelsea and Nick make a good couple, and Lily sweetens this story. I would deinitely recommend it to others.
Choosing Chelsea by Christina Butrum is book 12 of The Gold Coast Retrievers series. This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. I loved her characters, the plot of the book, the romance and the suspense. It is very well written and you just have to keep turning the pages. The Golden Retriever, Ollie, Chelsea’s therapy dog but he quickly came to love Lily, Nick’s daughter. It is a wonderful, heartwarming story. I hope to read more from this author.
I absolutely loved this book! Christina is such a brilliant writer and this is just another book that proves that.
Choosing Chelsea is my first Golden Coast Retrievers book and I loved it. I love books that leave a smile on your face and in a feel good mood. In all honesty, it felt like I was reading what could be a Hallmark movie.
Chelsea and her loving dog Ollie work at Golden Coast Stables. She’s been there for years. This place really helped her after losing her mother and she can’t remember a time without it. The horses and children that come here. When the director decides to sell the stable, Chelsea decides to do everything in her power to save this place she loves.
Nick is a single father, raising his 7 year old after his wife lost her battle with cancer. He’s still struggling to find a balance in everything two years later. When Chelsea comes into their lives, things start changing. Lily, Nick’s daughter, quickly bonds with Ollie and with Chelsea. He notices a big change in her once she starts riding lessons. Nick puts his career on the line to help save a place his daughter loves and the place the woman he’s falling for loves.
Choosing Chelsea is a clean romance that will leave you smiling. I loved reading about how special the stables was to Chelsea. That made seeing Lily connect with Ollie, the horses and Chelsea even more special. I also loved watching Nick and Chelsea together. That also leads to my only issue with this book. I loved reading about them saving the stables, but I missed more character interaction. I would’ve loved to have learned just a bit more about these two and some more time with them together.
If you’re a big fan of Hallmark movies, definitely pick this book up. It’s definitely a nice pick me up that will leave a smile on your face. I will definitely have to pick up the other books in this series. If Choosing Chelsea is an example of how good they are, I definitely won’t ever have enough!
What a beautiful story that touched my heart. The characters and the story were inspirational and added to the wonderful Gold Coast Golden Retrievers Series.
This one focused on Chelsea who works at the Gold Coast Stables along with Ollie, her therapy dog. They use the horses and Ollie to offer therapy to children as well as riding lessons. This same stable helped Chelsea when she lost her mom many years ago.
Then there is the sweet character of Lily who is seven. She lost her mom two years ago to cancer and she wants to take riding lessons if her dad, Nick will get over his fear of the horses hurting his daughter. It turns out the horses and Ollie are just what his daughter needed to help her cope with her mother’s death.
I liked the chemistry between Chelsea and Nick even though at one point there was a conflict of interest and he seemed to be the bad guy. It was nice to find out how Ollie would help Lily and what would happen to the stables that were up for sale. I also really liked how Nick honored his late wife and Lily’s mom, Kendra. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I love these Gold Coast Retrievers books. Choosing Chelsea is such a warm hearted book. Ollie is simply amazing as Chelsea’s dog but he develops an even stronger bond with Lily! Nick just wants to keep Lily, his motherless daughter, safe. Chelsea wants to save the stables that saved her when her mother died. Chelsea just wants to go on providing love and therapy to all the town’s children. Nick and Chelsea have some serious chemistry in this well written book. You do not want to miss this clean romance.
A book you will fall in love with. A heartwarming loving story about a woman Chelsea and her golden retriever dog Ollie, who works at a horse stable she grew up with after losing her mom, and then a single dad who has his daughter Lily he would do anything for especially after they lost his wife who was Lily’s mother. Lily is a little matchmaker. It’s a very touching story that will pull at your heart and bring tears to your eyes. An emotional well told story that I would totally love to see a movie made out of it. Thank you Christina. You are an amazing writer.
This was such a good book! Butrum’s books are sweet, clean romances that warm your heart. Choosing Chelsea has a woman fighting for a cause close to her heart, a man grieving the recent loss of his wife and trying to figure out single fatherhood.
Chelsea and Nick are brought together by the little girl, a special dog and a horse. You can’t help but pull for them as they fight through complications that could drive a wedge between them. Butrum delivers yet another HEA that leaves a (paw-shaped) imprint on your heart!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
This book had it all, Heartbreak, love and drama. Chelsea was a work at the Gold Coast Sables for a while now. She fell in love with it since a younger age. When she found a slip in her paycheck hearing that they needed to cut her hours down due to cost she was determined to find a way to make fundraising a priority. She met Nick and his daughter Lily at the school where she did a brief speech for asking help for the sables. Lily was so excited to hear about the horses and learn about the place. Nick not so much but went along with it. They kept running into each other and saw each other at the free riding day where Nick and Chelsea made a connection. Tho it was a great day it didn’t bring in enough money. What happened was their miracle, but you have to read it to find out. I felt bad having to put it down because I didn’t want to stop reading.
This is an entertaining, beautiful sweet story. A sweet romance with family and dogs – what more could you as for?
Great book. A wonderful addition to the Gold Coast Retrievers Series
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
