I see the good in everyone. My heart bleeds for the people who get a bad rap and no shot at redemption. Being a defense lawyer in a small town is not easy–especially when I am defending the criminals they loathe. And then, wouldn’t you know it. I attract the attention of the hottest cop in the entire town. He’s smart, rugged, and completely irresistible. But there’s one problem…Luke Hudson … problem…
Luke Hudson is running for sheriff. And he would be a good sheriff. This man never backs down. He sees the law in black and white–right or wrong. I see all the shades of gray in between. Now, with the election looming and our relationship heating up, everything implodes.
Luke’s given a choice: it’s either me or his dream job.
And all I want is for him to choose me.

Very interesting read – it’s sometimes better to box pride and ambitions and put them aside to have in life what is most important after all.
That was very enjoyable read for me. I spend really good time with the characters presented in this book and not only the main protagonists. I hope there will be next books in series that will focus on different couples. I see the potential outlined in “Ms. Lawyer”.
So we have a hot police officer who pursue the relationship with sexy, strong, independent but lonely Ms. Lawyer. By the way I loved how this nickname was used along the story line. I really liked the language used in the book, mature and professional. English is not my first language and I like that the words used in the books were not from everyday life but gave me feeling like I was in the world of Emma and Luke.
As for the mystery, well it added another layer to the story but I quickly predicted what was behind. There were events that surprised me but didn’t influence the plot to make it more interesting. But this is the room for improvement. What kept me interested in this book was how the relationship between Emma and Luke would evolve. There were several issues from the start that indicated that it won’t be the fairytale and that if they want to be together and have their happily ever after they will need to work for it. And so they did. I don’t want to give anything away so if you are keen to know if they succeed and what was keeping them apart and what issues they had to overcome, give this story and chance. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
I thought it was good. She liked him enough to notice that he was always around when she needed help. He did it just because he wanted to date her. I liked the cat and mouse game they played together. Its refreshing.

This was a nice and entertaining read that I really enjoyed. Luke and Emma are so sweet together. Granted I wanted to knock some sense into Luke a time or two, but he finally got his act together. I really liked the supporting characters and I hope we get to see their books as well.
Written as a 1st person single POV. I prefer a multi POV, but this was still a good read. This had a bit of romance, mystery, heartache, and a HEA. Nice story line, easy to follow dialogue, good description to detail, and easy to like characters. I wasn’t able to grow an attachment to the characters, but I did enjoy them. I think I actually liked Ashley and Logan better. I like how well they played off each other.
All in all, a good read.

Enjoyed very much
Didn’t want this story to end.
Really good read, and could not put my book down.
This was a fun read. The characters were likable and you really wanted Luke and Emma to overcome whatever obstacles, including stubbornness, so they would get and stay together. This book is quick paced, easy to read and the story flowed making for an enjoyable novel. This book also had wonderful supporting characters which deserve their own stories – some of which are already available and others are in the works.
An engaging well written romance. This fast paced storyline included romance, heartache, mystery, threats, and enticing suspense. The characters are likeable, have chemistry, and include a great cast of supporting characters. The easy to flow dialogue is written as a 1st person single POV and had attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Luke is great at his job but the new attorney in town is making his life hectic, she brash and sexy and irresistible. Emma the nee lawyer always seems to but head with the sexy cop, as they find peace in each company love blooms . But now Luke is running for the top position and he needs to be rud of any negative outside sources. This would be Emmas cue to bail out.

A sweet and steamy romance with engaging characters and an interesting premise. Some of the writing was a bit heavy-handed for my taste.
Lovely story of a really compatible couple who adores each other no matter what!
A slow burn. I think a little of the chemistry was left out for the reader. Yes they have their moments, but they are mostly separate. Nice romantic ending though.
Love all her books that I’ve read so far
Fun to the last page!
Good read
I quite enjoyed this story …. it did lag a bit sometimes and it really got steamy and a tiny bit kinky. It had good twists. It had several segments that gave you a hint of future stories. Good ending.
This is the third book I have read by Lea, and I love her style
Good story. It felt that some of the tension was missing however. Some of the build up in a few areas just wasn’t there for me. But it was a good book.
I like it so well I got book 2 and 3 in the series and plan to get t e last 3. Worth reading
